Jeremy sat at the desk and watched the viewscreen. A chance commet remained to be investigated. He watched the video feed from just after the ship launch, his chest tight and jaw clenched.

He rewound the several minutes of footage he had clipped and saved and watched it again, this time at slower speed. Once it was finished, he watched it again at triple speed.

Nothing about it changed.

Nothing about the way he felt about it changed. Except maybe that his anger had been stoked with each viewing.

Fools! he fumed, he was on a ship of fools!

Sitting still he stared at the now blank screen for several minutes, gathering thoughts and ordering his actions.

He reactivated the computer and watched the LCARS screen come up. Except, he didn't want that. He needed to go beyond the simple interface and into the guts of the system. Using his PADD he connected with the ship's computer core through the terminal in his quarters.

It took some time, but he finally managed to infiltrate the pathways he wanted, coming into them silently and through cracks in upper story windows rather tha backdoors.

"Computer," he said after he completed his task and pulled back out. "Confirm access to weapons locker Markus Quinn."

"Access is denied."

He let out a breath. "Confirm access to security systems Markus Quinn."

"Access is denied."

"Confirm security field overrides Jeremy Stone."

"Access is denied."

Jeremy nodded, that should prevent his security field commands from being overriden again.

"Confirm access door locks Jeremy Stone."

"Access is confirmed."

"Confirm access PADD Ident 0918-J5873225."

"Access is confirmed."

Jeremy nodded as he put the miniPadd into his pocket for later use.

"Computer what access does Markus Quinn have to security systems, armories, weapons lockers?"

"Access has been removed. Access locks are in place. Access cannot be restored without proper ident."

Jeremy nodded.

That should do for starters to begin restoring a semblance of sanity and order to this ship. The man's position was Chief of the Boat. He was the command liason for enlisted. He would not allow this travesty of that overinflated ego to continue flaunting authority that was not his.

Sighing he backtraced, making sure to erase all traces of his passage through the system.

He turned away from the desk and needed to get out of his quarters and away from this business.

"Sidi, here," he said, grabbing the lead from beside the door. Sidi ran over quickly, jumping excitedly as he saw the lead in Jeremy's hand. Maybe some play time in the arboretum will do the trick to clear dampen the fires burning through him.
