Tiffany checked the PADD as she went along the corridor. Fortunately there were some minor housekeeping needs to take care of in Sickbay so that gave her an excuse to go there and hopefully catch the doctor. She'd made a list of people who she thought might be amenable to her plan to get Jeremy to realize that people did like him and maybe that would make him want to stay on the ship. It was horrible to think that he wanted to leave them just when their romance was first blossoming and could easily wither away to nothing. She'd never met anyone like Jeremy before - so Kind and Caring and Compassionate. Not to mention those big strong arms and hands, and his deep, deep brown eyes that seemed to burn right through her.

She giggled as she realized that he and Sidi had the same eyes. If he weren't careful, people might think Sidi was his son instead of his dog! Wouldn't that be funny!

She went into Sickbay and saw all the people in there. She wondered what it would be like to work in Sickbay instead of Ops. So many fascinating people...and all so smart! She definitely would be a great nurse - but not a doctor. She didn't think she could do surgeries and stuff. But she would be a great nurse and help people get well and better. But, instead, she was a Ops person and was here to fix some lightbulbs or a replicator malfunction or some other thing.

But she was really here to talk to Dr. Dhuinn. Aside from herself, she really didn't meet anybody aboard the ship who was more Kind and Caring than Dr. Dhuinn and Tiffany Just Knew that she'd want to help with the crew night. But she also had to arrange it so that she knew that it had to seem like Jeremy was helping Tiffany with the arrangements. It would be a surprise party for him!

She pouted as she realized that Dr. Dhuinn might be busy and couldn't talk to her! That would be terrible!

Struggling to pull off the scrubs and gloves she wore, Pola started with pulling the mock hat form her hair, rubbing her forearm across her forehead as she tried to avoid leaving a blood stain behind. Of everything she'd been expecting, that surgery had not been on her horizon.

A patient had presented themselves with pain in their side and a raised temperature. Immediately starting the patient on inaprovaline to combat the infection causing the temperature, panic settling in as the pain only seemed to increase. Despite the administration of analgesic, the source of the pain still needed to be found.

After they had isolate an abnormal reading with the patients haemoglobin levels, they had managed to isolate the issue to be centred in a cluster of abnormal red blood cells which seemed to have been carriers for a foreign bacteria. What they hadn't realised, until it was nearly too late, was that the spleen had tried to carry out it normal function of removing the abnormal red cells the foreign body had attacked the organ and almost caused it to rupture.

After three hours of surgery, Pola was exhausted and looking forward to a hot water shower to try release the tension in her muscles, just the effort of pulling on the sleeves of the gown caused pain to ripple across her shoulders. As her eyes moved across the new set of crew who had presented themselves for medicals, the CMO suppressed a groan as her eyes landed on the woman who seemed set on creating nothing but trouble for Cyrus. Looking around at her office, Pola tried to gauge if she could reach it's safety before the woman spotted her.

Oh it was even worse than her not being here! She just finished surgery! Probably something Really, Really, Really Important and Saving Someone's Life! Tiffany hoped she had been successful because people dying was such a Bad Thing and how could they hold a party if someone had recently died? That would be Tacky.

But...she had to try. "Doctor!" she called out as she headed over, holding her toolkit in front of her. "Doctor!"

Hearing the voice, Pola realised that shed been cornered and had no choice but to turn and greet the woman, the shrill voice causing her eardrums to vibrate. "Tiffany. What can I do for you?" Balling up the scrubs, Pola threw them into the nearest replicator for recycling before giving the woman her full attention.

Glad that Pola had removed and recycled the surgical gown with the Icky Stuff on it, Tiffany felt a little bit better about talking to her. "I was sent down here on some repair issues, but I'm really glad that I was able to talk to you as well. I have a plan in mind concerning Jeremy - well, you probably know him better as Lt. Stone and well, he's having a really hard time on the ship and is feeling pretty down on himself, especially with all the really recent things that have been going on and I've been trying to think of a way to make it so that he doesn't feel so disliked by everyone and show him that people on the ship really like him. And I remember how you were one of the few people who understood why I was so mad at Cyrus even though he's your boyfriend and all and you were so very Kind and Nice and Polite and so I was wondering if maybe you could help out with Our Secret Plan to help Jeremy see that he is liked and maybe become more liked aboard the ship? So what do you say, will you help us out?"

Pola rubbed her fingers across her forehead before grabbing the band in her hair and tugging it out. She tried to figure out what it was about people these days and needing to say so much in one go in such a fast voice. "Ok...Um...So you'd like to do something nice to help Lieutenant Stone feel appreciated? Who is the we you are referring to?"

Tiffany smiled as she bounced on the balls of her feet, showing her excitement. She knew, she just knew that Dr. Dhuinn would be a good one to ask. She was just so Nice and Polite and Great and there was no way she wouldn't want to help people! "His friends, Kell and I and..." she bit her lip for a moment. "Well, you," she said, her smile beaming, "and well...I've just started asking around and I'm sure there will be loads more because he's so great and people will of course want him to know how much he's wanted and liked around here because he just cares so much about the crew and keeping us all safe and protected and everything! So we're all gonna get together and throw a suprise party and the best part is that he's going to completely and totally know about the party so nobody can ruin the surprise!"

Pola repeated that sentence to herself, how on earth was this to be a surprise party if Jeremy was to be told about it in advance. Feeling a headache building behind her temple, she rubbed the area to try relieve the tension. "I can't give much time to help with the organisation, we are too much here and I've too much on my plate. You can count me as a guest for the party though."

Tiffany beamed wanting to give the woman a hug. She KNEW Dr. Dhuinn was one of the best! "That's great! That's just great! Okay, you don't have to do any organizing all that will be handled. The only thing I ask is that...well Jeremy is going to be asked to help out with the gathering and so I just need you to tell him that you'll participate when he comes to talk to you and that's all! That's it! It's just so simple and easy and gonna be great! And I just know that you'll be awesome, but unfortunately the contest is going to be rigged this time. I hope you don't mind that. But if it's as much fun as it's going to be when we do this again the contest will be completely fair and anybody can win it!"

"Wait!" Finding the throbbing in her head intensify, Pola looked up at Tiffany as she tried to process this new set of information. "Hang on a second now...contest? What contest?"

"Oh that's the best part! It's a party and a contest all in one so that everyone will want to participate and have a go and be at it! It'll be fun for everyone! It's Galileo's first Interdepartment Talent Contest! I know, I know, you're really good at singing cause you already proven that and you probably think it might be unfair that we're going to rig the contest but that's just the first one. After that you're sure to have a Great Big Chance of winning cause you're good. Not as good as me, of course, but I'm not eligible to win because I'm organizing it. Well, really, Jeremy's organizing it but Kell and I are really so neither one of us can win - not that he would with just playing the one drum and all or doing his Dry Voiced Poetry Readings - ugh," she said making a face, "but next time you're really sure to have a great chance to win when we do the next one! I just hope people can wait for the next one because it's so much fun everyone's going to want to do this every night!"

Pressing the pads of her fingers into her forehead, Pola realised that at this point she really needed Tiffany to just leave. "Well...I guess if you are telling him about the party and talent contest first than it can't be so bad. If he doesn't want any of it, he can say it before any plans are put into force."

Tiffany giggled. "Not want any part of it! You're funny, Doctor! Who wouldn't want a party? Parties are the best! You saw how great a time everyone had at the big beach campfire singalongs! Everybody on this ship is so great! Just Really So Great! Not want a party! Say no! That's just hilarious! But okay, so we'll see you and I can't wait to see what Medical puts in for the talent show part of it! And it's going to be so much fun! So, so, so much great fun! Thanks Doctor! Now...what was it I needed to fix?"

As Pola watched Tiffany wander away, she felt her face go white. This situation with Jeremy and trying to show him that he mattered and people cared was one thing but medical putting together something for the talent show?!? Not a chance...It was one thing singing to a very small group, but a majority of the crew was not an option.

Now frowning, Pola turned on her heel and headed for her office and the side area which contained a personal wash room. She needed a wash, that shower would have to wait until her shift was over but the sweat and blood from the previous surgery needed to be removed before she could risk checking on the rest of her patients.
