Mission: Episode 15 - Emanation
Location: NX-11 Portsmouth
Timeline: November 14th, 2155

The ship lurched to one side. Luke stumbled onto the bridge Abbey, Tiley and Do’val were all at different stations, Abbey at tactical, Tilley science and Do’val at the helm. “Report Cadets,” He said falling into the captain's chair as another explosion. “Now Ensigns,” He said.

Abbey tapped furiously at her console, “A Romulan Bird of Prey just decloaked directly in front of us and opened fire, they must have detected the ship powering back up.” She said, “They're firing again” The ship rocked, the bridge this time exploded in a brilliant bright light as sparks scattered across the floor. “Hull plating is at 50%” She added.

“Helm, evasive maneuvers Abbey, let's give the Romulans something back. Phasers, take out there weapons and engines.” The Cadets and Abbey replied quickly and as a well-synced chorus. “Firing” Abbey said. Luke watched as the NX class weapons opened up and hit the Romulan bird of prey.

The NX class ship rocked once again as the two ships continued to exchange fire, “Our weapons are having less of an effect than theirs, Hull plating is down to 18% and falling and we’ve lost a phase cannon” Abbey reported before luke replied Jonathan's voice cut through the intercom. =^=Sir, The shuttle is ready, we’ve been following the battle from the shuttle and Skopak believes he can give us partial shielding, for a short time by extending the shuttles and pulling on the Starships power source, it'll take 10 minutes to set up=^=

=^=Very well, do it but you have five minutes. Hull plating is failing and was running out of weapons to fire back, prep the shuttle for immediate deapture=^= Luke said turning to Abbey from his seat, “Keep Firing, save our torpedoes” He ordered, “Helm prepare a collision course and wait on my command.”

The battle went on for another five minutes, the Portsmouth on a normal day would have been a match for the Romulan bird of prey however at its current condition it was just a matter of time until the ship and they were destroyed. “Hull Plating has failed, the Romulan ship is firing torpedoes!” She said.

=^= Now or never Mr. Skopak =^= Luke said as three green lights grew ever closer to them. “By the gods, Helm evasive…” But before he said it the ship rocked, not violently as the torpedoes impacted the now improvised shields. “Amazing work!” He said “Abbey fire everything, torpedoes full spread helm lay in the collision course and get yourselves to the shuttle and launch, now” He ordered. They both compiled the Romulan ship’s engines and weapons exploded it was now dead in the water but the Portsmouth weapons were depleted and the shield was already offline.

The Portsmouth slowly limped towards the Romulan ship as Luke waited for the Cadets to report that they were clear. A few more minutes past when Abbey’s voice came across the comms. =^= We’re clear of the ship, we have a transporter lock on you.=^= “Standby,” Luke said quickly moving away from the captain's chair and detaching the ships plaque. “Ready,” He said the Portsmouth’s saucer section sliced through the center of the Romulan Bird of Prey, as the ship exploded around him blue swirls swiped him away before any of it affected him. As he rematerialized he caught the final glimpse as the colliding ships exploded. “Get us out of here” Luke ordered to the cadets.

It took only a short while for them to return to the wormhole and unlike before they allowed themselves to be taken, after they were ejected on the other side in their own time Luke fired torpedoes disrupting the wormhole. “Set a course for Starbase 1,” He said sitting in the chair, the plaque of the Portsmouth next to him he couldn’t wait to tell Starfleet about this one.
