Mission: Episode 15 - Emanation
Location: Earth - San Francisco - Diplomatic area
Timeline: MD 39: 1000

Allyndra puttered around the quarters. She had pulled a few strings and instead of just assigned quarters for regular fleet, had gotten much nicer ones in the diplomatic sections. She figured she might as well as she had negotiated like one.

Another few days and she would be heading back to present to the Council what had been done and knew already wheels were in motion. Now that things had settled more she remembered Mimi and had invited her over for breakfast. It was a bit late but she had fresh, not replicated meal prepared for the Nekomi. It would be nice to see her again and ask if she wanted to come along to Akkadia and perhaps more or join the team heading for Ryn.
She had promised her a Fold Ship trip.

Approaching Allyndra's door Mimi tapped the chime, she hadn't seen much of her since they got back to earth so this breakfast meeting would be a good chance to catch up.

Allyndra went to the door and opened it and pulled the Nekomi to her. "Mimi! So nice to see you! Come on in," she did not hold the hug too long as many cat like sapians tended not to be the hugging types. "I have some fresh fish and meat for you and not replicated either. Help yourself," she waved toward the table and then asked, "So how have you been, what have you been up to?"

"It is nice to see you too Allyndra." Mimi replied, slowly she headed towards the table. "I have mostly been exploring, I did not go out much during academy so a lot of earth is new to me."

Allyndra nodded and took a seat. "And how has the exploration gone lately?"

"Very well." Mimi said as she sat down "I took a shuttle trip to England last week. It is very cold and wet there, too wet and cold for me."

Allyndra laughed lightly, "I remember as well, when I was there for a conference. Well then that being said, how would you like to exchange that for something warmer? I am headed back to Akkadia in a few days and your are most welcome if you wish to come?"

Mimi stopped picking what food she wanted for a moment. "Really? I would love to see Akkadia."

"Certainly warmer, though a bit humid still. Tell me though, remember what we talked about? Looking for the Nekomi world?"

Mimi thought back eventually remembering the conversation. "I have not had much luck with traders around here, none of them have gone anywhere near that area of space. So I think your idea may be worth a try."

"Very well, let me see if I can do something. The worse is there is a Federation expedition to Ryn, a M class unexplored moon around one of the gas giants or I can arrange for a sail on a sky ship. Either should be an adventure if I can't slip away."

"That does sound interesting." Mimi said as she tore apart a sausage.

Allyndra took a seat and then asked, "So how have you been? I must admit I miss some of lesson we were doing."

"I have been ok, my weight is back up to what it should be and I am out excercising again. I met a friend from the academy and we....." She chased another sausage around the plate as she tried to think of the right word. "Remi.. something."

"Oh?" Allyndra was not sure exactly what Mimi might have been indicating but it sounded interesting. "A friend is it now? Sounds like it might have been a bit more or am I reading too much into it?"

It took Mimi a few moments to figure out what Allyndra might have been meaning. "I think you are 'reading in to it too much' Mesha is a good friend, she helped me a lot at the academy. When we left academy she gave me a copy of her bajoran earring."

"Ah, well. I would figure that a good looking ensign would have a love in virtually any port." Allyndra laughed lightly. Her mind went back to a more serious track. "Getting a runabout away for more than a day or two is going to be problematic. I might be able to get you and it to the closest you know of to home, but someone is going to miss the runabout after a day or so. Think that is going to be enough time or should we try to plan something different some other time?"

"I do not know." Mimi replied. "The area in the Klingon file was very large, it could take a while to search even a small part of it."

"Understood, well think on it, maybe not the first time out, but could eliminate an area or give you a clue or two for another time?" Allyndra offered.

Mimi nodded. "Matag hina sura langutzen A few clues may be all I need."

Allyndra had been taking lessons in Nekomi but the phrase somewhat eluded her though she picked up a few words. "Something helps a little?" she asked.

"Close, a very good try though." Mimi smiled, she was getting better. "Matag is every, and Sura is thing, so every little thing helps."

"I am trying. Very good, then let's make a plan on that. Remember though that as far as anyone knows such things as Fold Ships no longer exist nor does any knowledge of how they worked exist." Allyndra reminded her.

"I will not forget Allyndra."

"Thank you, well get what you can together. We leave tomorrow 0900, ring C docks 42 and 43. A couple of days transit, a few days to chase whatever on the moon and then I will see about getting you toward perhaps Nekomi space."

"I will be there, do I need to bring anything.... special." Mimi asked "What will the weather be like?"

"Akkadia is warm and humid, Ryn is a bit drier and a little bit cooler last I could find in any records," Allyndra replied but did not add, "for what I could read." A lot of the language had drifted and made it hard to read some of the old records. "Also, Akkadia is more sunlit than Earth is and Ryn being a moon of a gas giant and further out is much dimmer. Hope that helps."

"It sounds very nice." Mimi remarked already picking out in her mind what clothes to take.

"Very good, well now that has been settled. Let's just enjoy breakfast before we all head out tomorrow."

"Now it is your turn to talk about what you have been doing." Mimi said as she fetched some tea from the replicator.

"Well this is going to take a bit..." Allyndra laughed lightly. "Oolong please, four sugar."
