Next on Doolittle's list of debriefings was Lieutenant Commander Luke Wyatt. As Chief of Security, his information could prove to be absolutely critical to Starfleet's investigation into the loss of the Galileo. In fact, Doolittle had been waiting to interview Wyatt as one of his last tasks because he ranked the security chief's interview as secondary only to Admiral Saalm herself.

Turning to his computer terminal, Doolittle began to compose a message to Commander Wyatt.

To: Lieutenant Commander Luke Wyatt
From: Rear Admiral Harold J. Doolittle
Subject: Debriefing as to loss of USS Galileo

Commander Wyatt:

You are ordered to report to my office at 1100 hours this date for debriefing interview concerning the loss of your ship USS Galileo. My office is located on the 17th floor of Starfleet's Main Headquarters building, Room 1732.

Once the message had been sent, Doolittle turned to the next task at hand which, unfortunately, was paperwork.

2 1/2 hours later...

Luke having received the highly anticipated message had showered, dressed and shaved before making his way to the Main Headquarters building. The way the message had been worded sent a chill up his spine and the words "The loss of your ship" were on a constant loop in his mind. Upon arrival, Luke had been directed towards room 1732. Bringing his hand to the door's buzzer he pressed it firmly with his index finger and waited.

Hearing the door chime, Doolittle called out "Enter..." then sat back in his chair and waited.

Luke waited for a breath before entering, he walked a few paces and a half into the room braced himself and stood to attention the pain in his ribs still stung but he didn't let his stoic facial expression change.

"At ease and have a seat Commander Wyatt..." Doolittle said, gesturing to one of the chairs in front of his desk. While he waited for Wyatt to be seated, he quickly scanned the commander's dossier.

Standing at ease he paced forward and pulled out the chair before sitting down in it still somewhat filled with apprehension. "Thank you Admiral," He said tucking himself in and brushing his freshly ironed shirt down neatly. His eyes watched the Admiral like a hawk watching its prey, at least that's how it would seem, not hostile more curious.

Doolittle studied the man across the desk from him for a moment before beginning the interview. "Commander Wyatt, please tell me - as head of the Galileo's security department, what steps did you take to plan for ship's security before entering the Paulson Nebula?"

Luke shook his head, "At the time I was not the chief of security but the chief strategic operations officer." He stated simply. "I didn't have much to do with the preparedness of the ship prior to us entering the nebula, honestly? There isn't much use of strategic operations outside of war" He admitted dryly.

"I see..." Doolittle answered. He had been under the mistaken impression that Wyatt had been the head of the security department. "What do you know about the attack on the Galileo by the Klingons?"

"The ship was ambushed whilst I was running an away mission, from what I've pieced together the Klingons disabled the Galileo quickly and boarded. Compared to the Klingons they were caught off guard and unprepared."

"What can you tell me about the time the crew spent on Kreanus?" Doolittle asked.

Luke chuckled "From what I'm told they were split up and put under constant watch those who were in the command staff were watched the most while other were almost given complete freedom. Some of the crew attempted escapes, sabotage, and just general captive things others just got drunk. A few like myself spent most of it in sickbay."

"I see..." Doolittle responded. "And during all the time you were in sickbay, how often did you see your commanding officer, Admiral Saalm?"

The door unexpectedly swished open and a young yeoman's head the room. "Sir, your 0900 is waiting," said the man before disappearing back out through the entrance.

Doolittle adjusted himself in his seat then glanced back down at his notes one again. "I'm afraid we'll have to cut this interview short, lieutenant commander. For now," he tapped several notes into his PADD as he spoke, "you may go. But you will be assigned to administrative duties here in the headquarters until we've finished the entire crew debriefing. Dismissed."

Luke looked between the door where the personal assistance was just standing and back to the Admiral. "I'd expect nothing less, thank you sir" He said standing up though secretly he was annoyed, he hated administrative work. Luke nodded once more in respect before leaving the room and the interview behind him.
