Mission: Episode 13 - Rogue
Location: Kreanus Colony - Mess Hall
Timeline: MD01 2000

[ON]

Miraj had found a quiet corner in the small cold mess hall to curl up with a PADD that contained an old favourite book that she had found on the colony database. Treasure Island. She was settling into the description of the Admiral Benbow inn and humming "Fifteen Men on A Dead Man's chest," under her breath.

There was a Boslic on Kreanus. Well, that in itself wasn't breaking news; Boslic's - among other races - had shown up over the years, but this one had quickly made its way onto Baz's radar when word trickled down that a certain Lady Boslic, going by the name of Derani, had managed to wash herself onto their unsightly realm. "So tell me again - you're sure her name was Derani?"

An almost full blood Romulan who had just recently been grabbed from his Marquis ship groaned and said "Of course you lummox when was I ever wrong It has taken me Twenty Years to catch the cow but it is time to brand her my own!" He said with a cruel laugh. "She's in the mess hall by all accounts spends most of her time there."

Baz snorted. "Only when it serves your purposes." Still, the Cardassian couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement. To have a chance at the bitch after all these years ... "Alright, then what are we waiting for?"

Vetal smiled and simply said "Nothing that I can think of except we're not in the mess hall. How about we go and pay the Bitch a visit and return her favour of all those yeas ago."

The unlikely pair made their way through the corridors toward the mess hall, giving the various new comers a wide berth when possible. After all, they had a mission, and there was no point inviting distraction on the way.

When they could outflank the people with a corridor change Vetal rushed them looking like the most horrible looking thing he could think of and angry Romulan which wasn't hard and that is exactly what he was twenty years of anger had led to this. They turned the last corner and said there it is the mess hall.

"Immature prick," Baz muttered under his breath, his attention snapping sharply from his companion to the task at hand as the eating section came into sight. "Right, now where is our little Boslic pain in the ass?" His gaze scanned over the space, picking out a few likely contestants before picking out his target across the room. Lianej had always been a slut for bright colors. Apparently Pink was her calling card now.

Vetal pulled out a Romulan scanner that he has set to indicate Boslic signature only. He waved it over the entire room nothing but on the second pass he pointed to a dark corner on the far side of the mess hall. "Mhrarh ("There." in Romulan)

"As I thought," Baz smirked, a hateful leer coming to his face as he waded through the crowd. Even from where he stood just then, he could tell Derani had kept herself trim over the years. No going to fat, then ... no matter, he could still make her squeal if he wanted.

Vetal groaned he knew what Baz was thinking he rushed to where his scanner indicated. Though something was wrong in the information. "Simhoni.(wait.) Something is different, wrong, the scans are close but not exact. I don't think she's the one we're actually looking for." Though he kept coming.

Baz snorted. "Cold feet already? That's the bitch, alright. Your scanner's just a piece of crap like everything else here." Surging forward, he shoved through the crowd between him and his target - holding his desire to call out lest the woman tuck tail and run.

"If I didn't want to murder the bitch as much as you do you think I would be here, I just say before we hang her from the yard arm till she stops kicking we make sure she's the right Boslic first." Vetal said steaming from the comment about his scanner. His hand wavered near his disruptor but under his breath said "Denebhanha" (Denebian slime devil. About saying the scanner is a piece of crap)

"Coward ... if it's not her, then at least she'll be good practice." Not to mention burn off some of the edge so that revenge could be much more coolly enjoyed.

"Sure your not a Klingon? I prefer my edge of hatred to be red hot and burning like a branding iron of my wish for revenge." Vetal said. with a cruel smile crossing his face.

"And you ask if I am Klingon," Baz rolled his eyes. Brushing past the sniveling fool, he made for the table where the bitch sat - mindless of the hatred brewing about her. "Derani," he called, his voice pitched above the normal roar of the feeding area. "When did you crawl out from ..." The words faded in the air about him as the pink-haired Boslic turned to face him.

Vetal waited a few minutes before he exploded forward and pushed Baz out the way. "Derani hwiiy a Maekh khiiea thomhtaa ssaollh! (Derani you are a deodorant wear[ing] spit spoon) You left us and now it is time for our long awaited retribution."

Miraj heard her name, checked her page number, and put the book down. She looked up, trying to see who here had called her name. she frowned in confusion. A Vulcan and a Cardassian were heading towards her. They looked angry too. She didn't know why they said she had left them. She'd never seen them in her life. "Er, yes?"

Vetal laughed and said "Oh look Baz she thinks we don't know her. Come Lianej don't play coy with me. You threw me of your ship personally you bitch."

"Lianej?!" Miraj couldn't believe it. "You know my mother?"

"Ri'nanov," (Mother.) Vetal said then dragged Baz away with an evil smile he said quitely to him. "Mmmmmm this is going to be fun, she is Lianej's daughter. I suggest good cop bad cop. I don't think she will believe me to be the good cop seeing as I just called her mum a bitch. Oh not to mention that I said that she kicked me of her ship."

"That's just love talk," Baz snorted. The last he wanted was to be 'good' to the woman. Better for her to be 'good' to him. To Derani he added with a leer. "You truly want us to believe that?" He didn't remember that Linaej even had a daughter to start with. "Not going to try and play this off as good genes or product?"

Miraj looked at him. She knew her mother was something at least twenty five years older than her. "I'm not. Lianej is my mother. I'm Miraj.

"Well you must know where she is then, she wouldn't leave her pretty little daughter to fend for herself, she'd keep a pretty one like you for her own profit." Vetal said also leering at Miraj.

Miraj shrunk back a little at his lascivious gaze, "No. She abandoned me when I was eight weeks old. When did you last see her?"

She was young - Baz would reckon her twenty tops. And if he remembered, Lianej had been a touch pudgy at the end. "Likely two days prior to her popping you out. Surprised she didn't flush you at first sight, selfish bitch."

"Judging her age I'm almost surprised your mother didn't keep us around a few days to play babysitters and protection for you." The leer softened as I said "Then I suppose you have no clue where she is and doing things to you won't bring mummy dearest running to protect you." His disappointment was audible.

Miraj swallowed at the implied threat and tried to lean away a little. "No. Not at all." If it did, she might even let them. "What did she do to you? My mother?"

"She did the worst to Baz, but she did abandon the two of us on a rock without traffic and little possibility of food. Thankfully that mining company came when when they did or I might be dead." Vetal said quietly.

Baz held his tongue, not willing to roll over for this girl - daughter or not. He still saw her mother when looking at her, but reason told him that hurting her would likely do no harm to the bitch deserving. Still ... "How do you find yourself here with the likes of us?"

"I'm the pilot on Galileo. Or I was until your general blew us out of the sky."

"Your just upset that you didn't have the strength in that nova to finish him off." Vetal said. He smiled cause he expected upstairs, it was likely the Romulan that were doing the leading by the nose.

"Not that we have anything to do with the filth who calls himself 'General' or whatever foolish title these dogs give themselves."

Miraj shook her head. "I don't like hurting ships. or people. doesn't matter what size ship it is."

"That's a turn up for the books!" Vetal laughed raucously as he thought about tea for a while. "Oh if your mother could hear you know. She'd roll over in her grave. Not that I wish her dead. I should be allowed part of that. Yes Baz you can help of course." Vetal' face took on a leering sinister smile. "Though now what should we do with the spare?"

The thrill of getting his revenge was burning out, leaving Baz irritated and wanting nothing more to do with Vetal or this new woman. "I care not what you do with her - she's not worth my effort or time."

Miraj looked a little ill. She hadn't been expecting this sort of reception. "I just want to know about my mother. I've never met her and I've spent all my life looking. Tell me anything. Please."

"Well like you she was pretty, very pretty. Rather accommodating, if you were on her good side. Though I'm not sure you want to know about that. It's my guess that is probably how you came about. She took to whichever underling took her fancy that night." Vetal said with a smile as he remembered a number of times with her before the fateful journey that got him kicked off. Even the night before she had kicked him off was probably his best memory on the ship.

Miraj blushed at the thought. She wasn't really much beyond the teenage idea of finding it too gross to think of her parents having sex. But she was also now irrevocably trapped by her own curiosity. "What is she like as a captain? And do you have any idea why she ended up on the other side of the quadrant?"

"Well accommodating if you were good for her business as a Captain, and as to why she finished up over here I can only go so far as to say it was more profitable with less risk. So fairly standard reason for a pirate. Captain or otherwise." Vetal said though he continued to think of what might happen after they stopped talking.

Though frustrated at losing his supposed target, Baz found his irritation melting some as Vetal continued the conversation. His interest had not increased - from a personal stand point - but amusement seemed possible. "Why don't you see if she's as accommodating as her mother was?"

"No I am not!" she protested. She wasn't entirely sure of the details of what they meant by accommodating, but she got the general gist. "I'm sorry for what my mother did to you, but I'm not her. I don't know anything about her. I just want to know what you know, so I can find her."

"Well our information is older than yours is I'm sorry." Vetal said ignoring Baz's statement. "The only thing I can give you is that you do look like a younger version of her, which makes sense seeing as you are her daughter." Vetal felt friendliness for this young Boslic girl.

It was clear Vetal was falling for the whiny little bitch and her sob story. What interest he might have regained flagged and Baz snorted. "I have other things to do - stay here and play with the brat if you wish." Without another glance back, he turned and stalked away.

"Awwwww poor baby Baz has lost his play thing so doesn't want to help any more." Vetal teased as he stalked away. "Miss I like you so including the one you have asked already I'll let you ask three questions. If you want to ask a fourth I could be enticed to answer it." He said with a lewd smile coming across his face.

Miraj stared after the Cardassian, she hadn't really heard the offer "What did she do to him?"

"You sure you want that as one of your questions, I mean I'll answer it but it seems a waste." Vetal's lewd smile got bigger.

"No, I want to know." Miraj insisted. She still hadn't really cottoned onto the three questions offer. her curiosity was like a storm inside her. She could ask a hundred questions and still want to know more.

"Well she dumped him and left to continue making profit. He thought they were different more involved, apparently she showed him just how the same she thought of him as everyone else when she marooned him with me. To me yeah I was disappointed and still want to get her back but his is fuelled by hatred. I think he is wanting to kill her; I just want to slap her around for leaving me." Vetal said.

Miraj watched Baz disappear through the mess hall doors, Her mother had been lovers with that man? She had never imagined that her mother might have had any sort of life before the Boslic pirate had captured her father.

"Why did she maroon you?" Miraj asked. She doubted any pirate marooned another lightly. "Were you lovers too?"
