There were still 30 minutes before she had to meet the other for the mission, but Nenokah was already on her way. In the little time she had been on board, she had felt some severe emotions from the crew. It wasn't surprising -- their captain was kidnapped and their ship was damaged. She would be on edge, too. Suddenly, she felt a wave of calm. Normally, an emotion like that wouldn't surprise her, but to feel it at a time like this was usual. Someone with an exceptional control over their emotions was coming her way.

Mor'an walked slowly down the hall, contemplating the recent happenings. So focused was she that she didn't see the young Klingon until they were almost face to face. "My apologies!" she said when the bumped shoulders. Her hand automatically went to her forehead in greeting, even though she knew Klingons didn't have such salutations.

"Don't worry," Nenokah said, watching the hand gesture of the strange-looking Vulcan. "Uh, it was just as much my fault." She studied the woman with interest, never having seen anyone like her. "What are you?"

A grin spread across Mor'an's face as she answered. "I am a Tarkannan," she said with pride, "The first the enter the Academy."

Nenokah raised an eyebrow. "And are you emotions hidden? Or do you just not have any?"

Mor'an's grin spread even wider. "You are an empath." She said it, not as a question, but as a statement. "My emotions are neither hidden nor are they nonexistent. I simply control them." It was her turn to study the other woman. "If you do not mind me asking, you are half Betazoid? Your black eyes give it away."

"Yes." Nenokah let out a breath and crossed her arms over her chest. "But I was raised Klingon, on my father's side." The emotions of this...Tarkannan were unlike any she had felt before.

I, too, have some of the same capabilities of a Betazoid.

Startled, Nenokah looked around for the source of the voice in her head. Her eyes went back to Mor'an, who looked very pleased with herself.

Alright. Nenokah's black eyes bored into Mor'an's ice blue ones. What else can you do?

"Well," Mor'an said, this time verbally, "I can see infrared and ultra violet lights."

"And how are you at close combat?" Nenokah phrased it as a challenge. Something told her there was more to this delicate-looking Tarkannan than met the eye.

"The best." Mor'an didn't like to boast, so she didn't. But, if it was true, than it was true. She sized up Nenokah. They were about the same height, but Nenokah seemed to possess more brute force than she. The Tarkannan's fighting method was more focused on finesse and lightness of feet. Klingons only had one way -- attack.

Nenokah knew what Mor'an was thinking. How well would they be pitted against each other? Their fighting techniques would be different, that much was certain. "As soon as the holodecks are working," she said, "We can spar."

"I accept," Mor'an replied. Until next time.

Nenokah inclined her head. Until then.

Knowing they had just made an instant friend, they parted ways without another word.
