::Seven minutes later::

Wiping the steam away from the mirror, Rebecca looked at the woman staring back at her in the mirror. There was something different about the woman who looked back at her. Her darkened black hair hung loose down around her shoulders, curling slightly where she’d only had a towel to dry it as best as she could. She still had a second towel wrapped over her chest as her clothes were in the main room.

From beyond the bathroom door, she could hear the muffled sounds of music that caused her to smile. She only hoped that Wilhelm wasn’t trying to dance along as if his body felt anything like hers did right now then she’d probably find him in a heap on the floor. The heat of the shower had helped to ease some aches but she would beat credits that it’d be days more beforehand body felt normal again.

This happiness she felt was so strange...it was like nothing she’d experienced before. There was times she’d been with men that she felt an attachment for but the agreement between them had only ever been sex. Sometimes they would use her if they needed a companion to a party...she looked good on their sleeves after all. But this...Wilhelm...she didn’t know why it was different.

Her thoughts flickered to a mere hour ago when she’d been readying herself to leave before he woke. She knew then that she would have blocked any contact he’d have tried to make but between then and now something had changed...she had changed.

Pushing her fingers back through her hair as she tried to tame the wild mess, the woman pushed back her shoulders as she smiled again. She still wasn’t sure about relationship...about the breakfast in bed the morning after or the date nights...but she was willing to try. She wasn’t sure how it would work if there was to be a distance, something she was sure would happen, but she guessed that they would shortly tackle that battle.

As Rebecca heard a voice start to sing to the tune of the music, the words were still muffled but she could hear enough to realise the singer was completely out of tune. As the smile on her lips spread, the woman figured that perhaps now was the right time to re enter the bedroom before Wilhelm did any damage.

Wil was listening to a very old song on the radio when she came out. Something by a guy called Mayer. The song was all about how a woman’s body was a wonderland. Wil knew it enough to sing along quietly..

“You want love, we’ll make it. Swim in a deep seeeea...of blankets. Take all your big plaaans, and break ‘em…”

Leaning her shoulder against the doorframe, Rebecca just smiled as she rested the side of her head against the post. The woman just watched Wilhelm while he was still unaware that she stood there. It was similar to watching him while he had slept, she learned something more about him every valuable moment she got to just watch.

“This is bound to be awhileee...your body is a wooonderlaaand.” Wil sang aloud. He heard a giggle behind him and he turned to see Rebecca, clad only in a towel, in the doorway to the bathroom.

“Hey there beautiful.” Wil said, smiling a smile broader than the saucer of a Galaxy-Class starship.

“Sorry to interrupt. I was wondering could I ask for a favour?” Moving away from the doorframe, Rebecca entered the room before coming to a stop beside the red shirt Wilhelm had previously discarded from her body. “Do you mind if I borrow this and a pair of gym shorts? And a belt if you have one…”

“Of course darling. I have some in that drawer there by the bed. A belt is hanging in the closet by the bathroom.” he said.

Rebecca knew that she had the option of her dress but in genuine honesty, she wasn’t sure what state it would be in, it seemed easier to just whip what she could together.

Gathering up the bits as Wilhelm watched her, Rebecca dropped the towel to the floor. Shrugging on the shirt and shorts, the women used the belt to gather together the waist of both so as the short wouldn’t fall down. The shirt barely even reached mid-thigh but the gym shorts offered some decency for the walk she would need to make. Her feet would have to remain bare for now...she wasn't quite certain they went with this setup.

As she tightened the belt around her waist, Rebecca turned to face Wilhelm, seeing him perched on the edge of the bed as the music continues to play in the background. For the first time in her life, the woman realised that she was at a loss for words. She wasn’t very good at goodbyes, this one even more so. It was easier to just wave and walk out but that wouldn’t cut it here. “So...I’m sorry that I need to run out on you like this. I don’t think you’d have a uniform that I can pass off as my own so I really need to get back...I really enjoyed last night.”

Wil smiled and crossed the distance between them with a few leaps. “I did too suesse*.” he kissed her lightly before continuing. “And you don’t need to apologize. I understand. We both serve in Starfleet in some capacity. I’d like to think you are a very young Admiral so I can brag to my friends.” he teased.

“All I ask, is that if I ever learn we are in the same place at the same time, or if shore leave comes up, I will call you. I ask that you consider the offer of a candlelight dinner or maybe a dance.”

Wil thought for a moment.

“Actually...no dance. My muscles feel like I just went through the Academy PT program.” he teased her once more.

Rebecca smiled, finding herself hesitating for a moment before stepping forward. Taking Wil’s hand in hers, she uncurled his fingers before pressing a kiss to the palm and curling his fingers back around it. “Keep that safe until we meet again...the chances of us having met last night were..one in a billion? Maybe the chances of it happening again should work in our favour.”

Wilhelm Von Haeften, ever the gentleman, kissed Rebecca’s hand.

Hesitating once more, Rebecca leaned in as she pressed a soft kiss against her lover's lips before stepping back and scooping her dress up in one hand and her shoes in the other. “Take care of yourself Wilhelm…” Smiling as she said the words and gave a little wave, the woman finally forced herself to leave the room, refusing to look back; afraid she might never leave otherwise.

As the doors closed behind her, she stopped as soon as she rounded a bend, rested her forehead against the coolness of the bulkhead. What the hell had just happened...what had happened to the woman who walked into that bar less than 12 hours ago...what happened to the vow that no one would ever be allowed to get close or she could just walk away.

What had happened...Wilhelm had happened. A man who had persuaded her to allow him one night to prove her wrong. One night to show that sex was more than just a roll in the sack between two people. One night to show her that making love was what she had been missing out on her whole life.

And he had done it..she still didn’t know how or why but the blasted man had done it. Even if she never saw him again..her life would never be the same again. She’d had this taste of how it all could be and now she wasn’t certain that anyone would ever be able to sate her appetite for intimacy ever again...not in the same way that Wilhelm had done it.

Even as she took a deep breath, the scent of the man invaded her nostrils as her hand moved to the collar to pull it closer. Oh god...what have I allowed to happen….?

----------------------------------------------------

In the room, Wilhelm stared at his palm, the one Rebecca had kissed. He felt like he should make some vow, like that he would never wash that hand again.

All he knew was that he had met the most amazing woman. And he vowed to keep his promise. He would finagle, conspire, and force the very stars to align if he had to, but he wanted to see Rebecca Williams again, to hold her against him again, to smell her scent once again.

Hopefully, the fates will be kind...unless he can call upon a Q…

Wil forced that thought from his head quickly, less the Q actually “hear” him and appear. The German hurried into the shower to wash, and prepare for his day. He didn’t have to be anywhere for another two hours, but he was oh so full of energy, he couldn’t stay cooped up in this room. He had to go do something. He was just too giddy to do otherwise. The German recognized the signs immediately…

He was beginning to fall in love.
