Sounds of trays moving about probably woke him. That, or possibly the lavender fragrance that followed Veri. It was her favorite scent of the human culture, she discovered. As such, it relaxed her.

When she stopped at the one patient's bed, she noticed his readouts. Then she looked at his charts. He was supposed to be in an induced coma to protect his higher brain functions. Besides that, he was perfectly normally.

One of the doctors had previously noted heavy swelling in Lieutenant Wyatt's brain. And they had to subdermally relieve the pressure with surgery to prevent seizures. Clearly he had healed enough that his normal brain functions were working.

Veri should have informed Tuula, but she was enthralled with watching life teem around the man.

Luke stirred and either he had a dreamless sleep or he had already forgotten about them but when he opened his eyes he found himself looking up to another pair of eyes "What happened?" He asked confused and unaware of the situation he was in.

"Contusions and abrasions on the cranium from an incident during the wargames," Veri read from the charts nervously, for he was a muscled man she had not seen before. "Err... Yeah - I mean yes Sir.... Or are they discharging you? I know lots of people who get discharged due to medical complications. I served on a hospital ship once. Not like this place though."

Luke found the young woman's confusion and nervousness amusing. "If I am being discharged then they haven't told me. How did the war games go?" Bringing up his right hand he rubbed his forehead as if doing the act would jog his memory "I am still a bit hazy on the subject as you can imagine!" He added finally resting his hand down by his side again.

"Some stupid pilot on this ship flew the girl into Atlas," Veri spoke very nervously and very quickly. He had nice guns on his arms... "All I know is there was a big crash and I fell over a biobed - Which does not feel that great. And then we transferred to this ship and you and a human with lovely hair were assigned as patients."

Veri lowered her voice and whispered unconsciously, "I can't tell you about her because that's against policy."

"Well being Chief security Officer I think I would be have access to the files of the incident anyway?" He asked trying to shake off his cobwebs due to the lack of mobility caused by his head injury.

"Errr...." Veri was not sure if she should tell him that bit of news, and hit the call button for Tuula. Nervously, she decided she could not lie and so dove into the explanation. "Captain Holiday has you on the transfer list for the next starbase we get to, for medical reasons. The gal with nose ridges is now chief but I never met her so I have no idea if she is pleasant or not. Doctors don't like her coming in here with random DEA inspections though."

Answering the call, Tuula rolled out into the main ward, pushing herself towards Luke and Veri. "Ah, I see sleeping beauty has finally awakened," she said, referring to Luke, who had been kept in a medically induced coma for a few days. "It was touch and go there for a little while. We had to drill a couple holes in your skull to relieve the pressure, but thanks to a couple simple brain surgeries, you should make a full recovery without too much brain damage."

That is so disgusting! You're going to make the poor man cry. You apologize to him and tell him that his brain is totally alright. The unidentifiable thoughts were berating Tuula. How could she be so cold as to poke fun at the poor man who had just had his brain poked at?! Oh, and who's the Betty? She is so cute!

Luke couldn't help but smile, whether the bump on the head did more to him than he thought or whether it was just nice to see a friendly face. "No more brain damage than before then?" He said cracking a joke his grin growing and he noticed a look for... Confusion? Anger? He couldn't tell on the doctors face. "How long was I out for?" He asked on a slightly more serious note but the joke lingered in his head longer that it probably should have and his grin was still plastered on his face.

"It's been what, five days?" replied Tuula, not totally sure. Between Jaana, Jynn, and all her patients, the past few days had been a blur. And the voices... entering her head at inopportune times ever since that magical night with Jynn. If she concentrated, she could ignore them, but they would still be present, nagging at her, trying to get her to obey them. "Veri, could you fetch me a neural scanner? Now that sleeping beauty here is awake, I'd like to make a few scans."

I should scan myself while I'm at it, thought Tuula.

Lost in dirty thoughts, Veri turned to fetch the scanner, only to run into a vacant biobed and flipped over it with a loud thud.

"...Err... I'm OK," Veri spoke with a slight groan before she unsteadily stood up and took a moment to get the wind back in her sails before she continued her short trip to the medical tool trays.

"Watch yourself." Luke grinned as he watched the commotion around him, he wondered exactly what was going through the nurses mind to distract her so much from her surrounding or maybe he was still out cold and was just dreaming up so fun scenario to cope in until he really did wake up.

"I meant to do that," Veri spoke in vain as she brought the scanner to Tuula. Then she looked between the both of them. Deltans had good senses. Almost on par to a Vulcan, and curiousity got to her once more as she asked to both of them, "So have you two also had sex? I only ask because the hormones passing between the both of you are pretty strong."

Luke gave a small smirk and knew he was also blushing despite the fact nothing had actually happened between Him and Tuula, but the Nurse was semi-correct at least when it came to hormones. "Urm, No... We..." He was lost for words which made his case as unconvincing as unicorns being real. "Not at all" He finally finished with.

And now Veri was extremely confused. Especially outwardly, as it looked like Veri might have an aneurysm from thinking so hard.

"Wait...." Veri then looked at Tuula. "You have feelings for Doctor Mott, but you slept with Lieutenant Jynn. And now you have strong emotions for Lieutenant Wyatt."

Tuula glared at the nurse. "Veri, why don't you go into the medical supply closet and fetch us a holo-emitter," she said in a tone that was more of an order than a request. "And take your time."

Luke watched the engagement between the two females and couldn't help but feel amused he had clearly missed so much since his time as chief and the time he spent under his own unconsciousness.

With Veri gone again, Tuula looked up at Luke and offered him an awkward smile. "Luke, I..." She didn't know what to say, and the voices weren't making it any easier.

Holding up his hand he shook his head "Don't worry there's no need to explain yourself Tuula" He managed, "It's not like..." It was his turn to be silenced.

"Is she right? About the hormones?" asked Tuula, taking Luke's hand in hers. "I didn't realize you had these sort of feelings..."

Luke didn't remove his hand from her's, he wasn't sure how he felt about anything right now. "Maybe I knocked my head a little to hard" he teased. "But from what it sounds like you're doing just fine" He was more curious than anything else, his tone of voice not suggesting any malice.

"Yeah, I'm fine..." Tuula looked up at Luke, a nervous expression on her face. In truth, she was a mess. Her mind was a swirling torrent of thoughts and emotions. Her worry for Jaana, her feelings for Mott, and the after-effects of her encounter with Jynn. Not to mention the presence of Luke, another man who was so caring and kind towards her. "Are you fine?" she asked.

"I'm doing as well as can be expected I have after all just woken up and a life and death situation with only a huge headache and some short term memory loss." Observing Tuula he continued "You know, you're not convincing me much now. Are you sure you're ok?"

"It's just..." Tuula looked up at Luke and saw a reassuring look on his face. "It's been a rough few days. I'm worried about Jaana..." she trailed off, knowing that she couldn't tell Luke about Jaana or about Jynn. "She's... not doing too well..."

Luke propped himself up off the bed slowly "Oh, What are you worried about exactly?" He asked looking at Tuula puzzled before adding "You don't really have to tell me but maybe I can help?"

Veri came back faster than expected, mostly because she did not trust Tuula was on the level all that much, given her last sexual encounter.

"I have the emitter, but I don't see the point in asking for it, since I'm not an engineer. And only engineers know how to install these things - I mean, I suppose I could give it a try but during basic repair class in BT, I accidently shorted a power regulator and almost fried my partner. And I don't really think you want me electrocuting people. Especially someone with a lot of metal on. So the more important task is discharging Lieutenant Wyatt from Sickbay. So if you wouldn't mind making that assessment, Doctor, I should like to help reorient him before he goes back on duty."

Luke looked to Veri then back to Tuula "Reorientation sounds fun," He injected adding a clear innuendo to what she had said. To be truth Luke hoped that he would have more time with her but he also couldn't wait to get out of the bed.

Tuula glared at Veri for a moment. How dare he? When I'm right here? she thought, but after taking a breath she realized that all she wanted was for Luke to be happy. And she didn't really have a leg to stand on when it came to criticizing his little romantic peccadilloes.

Sighing gently, she reached for a PADD and made a note in Luke's file. "You're free to go," she said, looking up at him. "Have fun with your 'reorientation.'"

Veri gave a nervous laugh for she understood Luke's meaning. She was most assuredly going to need a cold shower ASAP.
