The pile of PADDS had reduced, almost to a level where half of Holliday's desk had become visible. Looking at the clearing mass, John let out a sigh before deciding a break was in order.

Standing up from his desk for what seemed like the first time in forever, he awkwardly worked his stiff muscles and headed for the replicator, intent on a cup of coffee to rejuvenate his mind and energize his body.
As the computer got to work pulling together the molecules his beverage was comprised of, John shot a glance back to his desk, noting the top PADD that displayed the names of the crew members transferred aboard ship following NIMBUS. He had so far gotten around to meeting most, but not all.

Collecting his cup from the tray, he plodded back to his desk, slapping his commbadge as he fell back into his chair.

=^=Holliday to Cyi. Report to my Ready Room. =^=

=/\= Aye, Sir. =/\= Ti replied tapping his commbadge. He slipped from under the navigation control panel. Slipping the cover back in place, he took a moment to tug his uniform into shape and headed over to the Ready Room. His mind ran though a quick check list of things he had done that could have been seen as wrong and appropriate excuses just in case.

Touching the chime, Cyi waited to be let in.

"Enter!" Came the call from beyond the doors, the voice of the Captain ringing loud and clear to the visitor. It was obvious to John who was outside and he felt no need to waste time with long formalities.

Ti entered and stopped just out the door sensor so it would slide shut behind him. "Lieutenant Tinaro Cyi, reporting as ordered, Sir." Ti said formally. He was not sure how his CO was on formalities. They tended to run the whole spectrum in Starfleet and Ti learned early on in his career to err on the side of caution. Better to be formal to an informal CO than informal to one who stressed the formalities.

"Ahh. Lieutenant. I appreciate your response time. Please, take a chair. The replicator has been repaired. Mine's a raktajino, double strong"

"Water, Please, and thank you." Ti replied as he took the indicated seat. His posture was still a little abnormally stiff from his recent surgeries after the shuttlebay incident. He wish he could properly work it out but the medical people here were very... persistent.

"So...I felt it appropriate to meet my new officers. I trust you are settling in aboard ship as well as can be expected given the circumstances?"

Holliday replied, taking the cup of raktajino and allowing the smell to permeate his nostrils before taking a deep gulp. He could already hear Medical disciplining him for excess caffeine consumption, but at the moment he was sure it would be an acceptable compromise given that the ship was lost in the middle of nowhere.

"This isn't exactly how I intended our mission to proceed."

"Yes, Sir, I am settling in quite well thank you. I don't imagine this was what anyone expected to happen, but facing the unexpected is more or less what we all signed up for anyway, right? It could have been much worse." Ti replied. The statement was true for both him personally and the ship as a whole. Medical was less than subtle about how close he had come to death. Not overly concerned with his own morality, Ti wasn't so much shaken up by the prospect of dying but by the idea of his leaving his work unfinished.

"Indeed.." Holliday replied, taking a moment to consider whether or not the man's somewhat indifferent response was merely because he did not care, or because he really was unafraid of the unknown. If it was the latter, then there would be brownie points on offer from the Captain.

"Once we have completed repairs and gotten back to a starbase, hopefully we can spend a little more time in a more formal introduction. I spoke with Lieutenant Jynn this morning and outlined my requirements that our support craft be ready to assist in our repairs as soon as possible. I trust you will support him accordingly?"

Ti nodded. "Yes, Sir, I will. I would like to point out, Sir, that with the ship in the condition it is in, and the fact that we are docked on an asteroid, we run the risk of any number of catastrophic failures to the Galileo. With us being docked where we are, our ability to launch escape pods becomes somewhat hampered. I would like to keep the Virginia stripped down as an emergency evacuation vessel until sure up the Galileo some more. Should we meet hostiles she would prove a much needed time ally as well, Sir."

John thought on the idea for a moment. The shuttles were never designed to be used as lifeboats, and the Lieutenant was right that in the event they were caught unaware by a rogue lump of rock, having a little time might be of use.

"Very well. Make the shuttle ready and moved to standby. Hopefully we won't be needing her services however."

"Yes, Sir, and thank you. I hope so as well." Ti replied. Perhaps it was his time with Intelligence, but Ti always felt better with a backup plan.
