Lirha stepped forward under the cool water which was a sobering experience for herself as well, but her primary purpose was to take care of Gyce who still didn't seem to be back to her usual self. She stepped close to her, inches away, and once again wrapped a green arm around her waist to steady her and pulled her close so their hips were now pressing together. With her free hand, she quickly bent to the side to retrieve a washcloth and some soap, and handed Gyce the bathwash bottle while waiting for the chance to scrub her down once she poured it on herself.

Under different circumstances, Gyce might of taken in Lirha's exotic splendor... and felt very bad about it too, given her superior's marital status. Her focus unfortunately, was trying not to be sick and cleaning herself up. Which meant she took the offered bodywash and lathered the front of herself and anywhere she was physically able to take care of.

"I can't reach my back," Gyce informed as she passed the bottle over to Lirha.

Taking the soap and moving behind her, the Orion proceeded to pour a generous amount on her washcloth then started to wash her back with slow circular motions. It was then that she noticed what appeared to be a Cardassian glyph of some type tattooed onto the back of Gyce's right shoulder, and there also seemed to be some numbers directly below it. Lirha lightly grazed her fingers over the symbol. She had seen the same inscriptions before in the past; usually they were markings from the internment camps the Cardassians used to house Bajorans in during the Occupation. "Is this what I think it is?" she quietly asked.

"It is," Gyce answered almost mournfully as she tried to focus on the water hitting her face. "Once used to be radioactive, so that if we escaped, Cardassian military could find us on scanners fairly quickly."

Gyce turned her head to look upon Lirha, only she blushed a bit when she realized she was taking in the hourglass beauty of a married woman.

Lirha held her gaze for a long moment and gave her a private smile. She knew the look very well, and began to contemplate what or if she should do or say anything. And given their close proximity in the shower, it was natural such feelings might lead to some sort of action.

"Do you like what you see?" she asked in a soft voice with a bit of Orion bluntness while rubbing the washcloth against Gyce's lower back. Lirha had never been the shy type especially when it came to issues of sexuality, and she'd often preferred forwardness over ambiguity.

She did. Very much so. In fact, if not for the cold shower she was already taking, Gyce had no doubt she might of been far more forward. Especially being that her shower partner was also Orion.

"You are my superior," Gyce both answered and evaded as she looked away again to let the cold water drown her face away of such improper thoughts.

Lirha let out a soft laugh at that, "I am indeed." She supposed she was most people's superior for that matter, considering how quickly she'd managed to rise through the Starfleet ranks. Often times it seemed like just yesterday that she was a new lieutenant commander being assigned to her first starship command, and she had to periodically remind herself of her flag status. But now, she was a bit curious, and wanted to know more about the Bajoran's apprehensions. "And...if I was not your superior? What then?"

"I..." Gyce did not know. The only other argument that made since to her was to also point out, "You're married, Admiral. It would not be right to commit adultery on your partner."

Swallowing a small lump in her throat which instantly materialized at the mention of Siren, Lirha gazed down towards her feet for a few moments before taking a deep breath and looking back up to her shower-mate. "My wife was reassigned last night and departed earlier today...to a permanent planetary position," she quietly said with a bit of pain in her voice. "I have been in Starfleet for most of my travels in space, and I do not think I will see her much again. At least, not in a manner befitting a marriage. We also did not leave on the best of terms," she tried to explain without going into too much detail.

Rebound. That was the impression Gyce got when she began to analyze the situation for what it was. Lirha cared about Gyce's wellbeing. There was not denying that, but what would happen when her superior found herself recovered by the failed marriage? She did not know.

What was important was that Gyce was not the only one with winds out of her sails. Lirha, in the very least, needed to know she was going to be OK. That was why Gyce turned fully around to face Lirha and engulfed her into a hug.

"I am sorry to hear of your troubles. If there is anything I can do for you, I shall, Admiral," Gyce impressed gently upon Saalm.

The lieutenant's warmth was a welcome change from the ice cold water which was flowing on both of them. Cold showers were usually short and swift, but the more they talked underneath the water flow, the more goosebumps emerged on the Orion's green skin and made her begin to shiver. The thoughts of Siren caused a few tears to make their way down Lirha's nose and onto her face, but she hoped the abundance of other liquid droplets would mask them.

"Please...call me Lirha," she answered. That was the first thing her new friend could do, and the second was a bit more complicated yet strangely straight-forward. Dropping the sud-filled washcloth to the floor and wrapping her arms around Gyce's waist to stroke her back, Lirha looked up into her brown eyes then leaned forward and pressed her gold lips against hers with a soft kiss.

Initially Gyce tensed from the sudden surprise of it all. But after several seconds of debating what to do about the situation, the Bajoran decided to ignore the instincts and alarm bells of morality she was breaking. Lirha needed to be held as much as Gyce needed to. So she returned the kiss, at first cautiously, but gradually that built into a warm, compassionate exchange.

Pulling Gyce even tighter against her, Lirha let out a soft whimper and closed her eyes. She tilted her head slightly to the side and parted her lips allowing her tongue to slip into Gyce's mouth and lap gently against her own.

The intertwined tongues continued to fight for position. Gyce moved her arms around Lirha's neck and tried as best she could not to let her personal morals dictate her feelings. Especially due to the fact that Lirha made her feel less stressed, less obligated with trying to prove she was just as capable as others.

"Thanks," Gyce windedly spoke to her... well Gyce was a bit apprehensive to put any sort of label on what the both of them were becoming.

After the kiss broke, Lirha sighed contently with butterflies still fluttering in her stomach. It was the first time she'd kissed someone other than Siren in a very long time, and it felt good. Especially a lady as beautiful as Gyce.

There was more to indulge in for the evening, but first things first, the cold shower needed to end. Lirha fluttered her eyes at Gyce and gave her a kiss on her forehead before reaching down to pick up the wash cloth and finish her previous job. Quickly and deliberately, she scrubbed down the Bajoran's legs, calves and feet, then let her rinse off the soap suds before reaching over to tap the console and shut off the water. By now Lirha was close to freezing, and she quickly grabbed a couple towels off the nearby rack and wrapped one around each of them. She then helped Gyce out of the shower and led her from the bathroom into the adjacent bedroom, where she pulled back the comforter and indicated for her to lay down. "After you, my dear."

Given that she too was cold, Gyce climbed into the bed without preamble and curled into the covers before she tossed her towel in the floor. There were butterflies in her stomach at that moment. For she was unsure what exactly Lirha expected of her.

"What exactly are you wanting from me, Lirha?" It was a legit question, given Gyce's personal limitations and morals.

It was a loaded question which the Orion wasn't quite sure how to answer. She thought about it for a long moment while she tussled her hair in her towel to dry it, then placed it on the floor next to the other one and climbed into bed next to Gyce. "A friend and a companion," she answered before realizing that wasn't exactly the heart of what Gyce had asked. "A lover." She paused and looked intently into the lieutenant's eyes with a searching gaze. "And you?"

Those brown eyes actually became saddened and her throat choked up a bit as she answered with, "I... I never sought anything more than friendship, because I always felt I killed too many sons and fathers during the occupation."

As if Lirha wasn't already sad enough and dealing with her emotions, she now looked at Gyce with longing. Not only for herself, but for the woman who had been a prisoner of Cardassia on her own homeworld and had no doubt seen the worst of their humanity. "I am so sorry," she whispered, reaching out to rub a hand over her ribs in a comforting motion.

Lirha wiggled herself as close as she could to Gyce while remaining propped up on her side to look down at her and make sure she was alright. But once again, she succumbed to her true feelings and leaned down to deeply kiss her for a second time.

"It's all right," Gyce tried to assure between breaths while she continued to kiss her lover, as well as engulf Lirha in a supporting hug.

Gently. Sensually. Gyce was not sure if Lirha's pheromones were in play or not, but she did not question it. Upon revealing her darkest memories and thoughts, she wanted to feel good again. However temporary.

Lirha sighed contently. The sensation of Gyce's warm arms wrapped around her was more than comforting, and she returned the favor by wrapping her up in a mutual embrace. She could feel their breasts pressing together and the warmth of their legs which began to become entwined, which suddenly reminded Lirha of her care duties.

"How is your leg? Does it hurt?" she asked, stroking the side of Gyce's cheek with affection. "Do you still require ice?"

"When we're done cuddling, I think." Gyce did not really want to go into the complicated story of her leg tonight. She was always in pain, because of the severe nerve damage in said leg. But for the moment it was at a coping level she could handle.

"Besides..." the Bajoran added with a small laugh while her fingers danced light on the back of Lirha's neck. "An ice pack would make it colder and less comfy, as we are now."

Leaning forward to kiss Gyce again, Lirha silently concurred with her sentiment. And as much as she wanted to cuddle for the entire evening, she also wanted a bit more at the current moment. Taking one of her hands in her own, the rear admiral closed her eyes and guided Gyce's digits down in between her legs so she could feel the soft and neatly-trimmed fuzz of the dark hairs around her sex. "Do you want to play with me?" she offered.

There were so many military infractions and taboos wrong with the scene that Gyce had to really dig in to stay calm and nod her head in agreement. As she looked down the covers to take in those fine lines, there was no question Gyce was curious to know what it was like to lay with an Orion.

"If anyone asks, I was here talking to you about your future security detail line-up," Gyce finally spoke as she looked back into Lirha's eyes.

All the while, she repositioned Lirha on her back, and brought the Orion's right leg up and braced the leg at the back of the knee, against Gyce's left shoulder.

Lirha reached up at her and affectionately pushed one of her hands through Gyce's damp hair and stroked it backwards to tuck it behind her ear. "Of course, Miss Benice," she teased breathlessly. Her desire for her was in full swing, and now that her legs had been properly spread in a comfortable position, she took a deep breath of anticipation.

Most of her weight was on Gyce's right leg as she began to Lirah's sex. Slow and in just the right spot to keep Lirah's attention on Gyce. It had been far too long since she engaged with anyone like this before. But it was like any other activity she did. It came back naturally.

"Try not to tense, Lirha," Gyce whispered into her lover's ear. "Just close your eyes... relax... Let it happen."
