ON:

Aria frowned as she carried over the sugary tea, watching her roommate. He had experienced a bad turn. And...well, she got it. But he kept trying to push himself to do things, to act as if everything was normal and okay and he wasn't feeling rubbish. It was tiring when she could just see he was uncomfortable. Still, she kept smiling, moving to give him the tea. "Here you go, sweet and adorable and hot..."

"Like you, you mean?" Dorian teased with a small smile, the energy not quite there as usual, but the warmth was. He took it, wrapping his hands tight around it before sipping with an appreciative sigh. "Thanks," he whispered, keeping the grip tight to stop the slight tremor in his arm from making a difference. "That's hit the spot."

Aria watched him for a moment before nodding, sitting down beside him. She considered something before nodding. "That's it. We're having a slumber week! Bad food, reclining roman style, watch 2D movies and other rubbish..."

"A slumber week?" he laughed softly with surprise. "Did we just become kids again?!"

"Well, yeah! More or less. Look, we've been really busy for ages...so it will be nice to have some days not to do anything. Anything at all," she smiled as she stood, watching him. "And don't tell me that it doesn't sound like heaven to put on your pyjamas and relax...?"

"Hm...." Dorian smiled gently, looking down as he shook his head with a sigh. "Well, maybe....."

She nodded with pride, moving to find his, placing them on his bed. "So, that is exactly what you will do. And me..." she winked, moving to her wardrobe to find hers. "And it'll be brilliant. I need it too...the wedding wiped me. But at least I had you..."

"The whole trip was certainly an...experience," Dorian smiled softly, pulling his shirt off carefully and slowly with the ache in his body and tremor in his arm. "Who knows, maybe it set this stupid episode off? Hell knows what got into our system there....."

"And being surrounded by Orion females must have kept your blood pressure high," Aria said, smiling as she started to undress as she talked. "I had a low grade headache for the majority of it...now I hope Siren didn't have one, headache is an old school excuse for not having sex...saying that, it's true. Nothing more unsexy than a headache."

Dorian chuckled softly, shaking his head as he pulled his pyjamas on. "I took the pheromone blockers. I wasn't having any of that."

"Good," she said and turned her back to him, taking her bra off. She was going to be really comfortable. The comfy tee shirt came on next, followed by the hoodie before she pulled on the pyjama bottoms. Only then did she slip her feet into the furry slippers. "Mmm..."

Dorian sighed as he wrapped himself up in his own pyjama layers, shaking his head as he looked down at himself. "This is really plebby...."

She smiled as she turned to look at him, her eyes gently. "It's the point. No one expects anything from us..."

"Hm, well....maybe there's no harm in a few slouchy days after our big trip out," he conceded with a soft laugh, curling up on his bed.

Aria smiled warmly, getting her tea and moving to on the edge of his bed, reaching to stroke his arm. "There isn't! We can eat rubbish fatty foods...watch silly things...relax too..." her smile became one of slight excitement. "And just be lazy! When was the last time you did that, huh?"

"Well you got me there, Aria," he chuckled softly, pulling the blanket over his lap and feet. "I don't think I've ever done it...."

"Never?" she asked with surprise, shaking her head. "Well, that won't do. Now...we need to watch something. Want romance, action or just sad?"

"No sad....absolutely not, tear free zone," he swiped his hand with absolution.

Aria nodded as she smiled, standing at that. "Then we get something a bit funny, a bit cool..." she started searching through the system. "How do you feel about...Elves and Hobbits?" she asked, looking over her shoulder at him.

"I feel they are way out of my league," he teased with a small smile, touching his temple in imitation of a telepath.

She smiled as she met his eyes, raising an eyebrow. "I mean to watch. We could do some Tolkien...I find good versus evil a great place to start."

"Go for it. I always knew you liked rooting for the bad guys..." he said lightly, sipping the sweet tea with a chuckle.

She smiled as she got it on, moving to sit down on the floor. "Mm...only if they're wearing leather..." she winked, tilting her head back to watch him. "Want some snacks?"

"Is it bad to say yes?" Dorian asked softly, shaking his head with a small smile. "Crispy, fatty, terribly bad for you ones. The kind a girl like you with a figure like yours would never eat...."

"I lived off those," she got up, humming as she moved. "I used to have a draw full of inappropriate starches at the Academy..."

"Then how the hell...." he motioned up and down over her figure, shaking his head with a soft laugh. "It can't all be from dancing...."

"I have a high metabolism..." she said softly, her eyes gentle. "My Dad was the same apparently. It'll catch up with me one day but until then? Ice cream all around!"

"Mmm....honeycomb with caramel swirls," he sighed, shaking his head slowly. "I must be born in the wrong body."

"Honey, your body is right the way it is..." Aria said lightly, grinning as she got crisps and ice cream. "You're...well. I know what a great dancer you are."

"Swept you off your feet, did I?" he teased with a grin, shaking his head with a soft sigh.

"You know you did," she offered the crisps over and sat down, opening the ice cream with a sigh and taking her spoon. "I'm amazed you don't have half the ship lining up outside our door to get to you."

"To me? Oh come on, petite one, you must have your fair share," he smiled, moaning at the salty crisp before going for a spoon of icecream, laughing softly at how good the slight mix of left over salt was with the sweet.

She laughed warmly, shaking her head. "Hey, you've seen my dance card...not much on it," she said and moaned as she took more ice cream. "But it's good to do this...just relax."

"I'm under the impression I've been hooked into a girl's night in..." Dorian said lightly, but watched her with fond eyes.

"Oh you have," she said and smiled, poking him playfully. "But we're friends and that's what friends do!"

"Are you going to curl my hair and paint my toenails later too?" he whispered as he leant to her with a smile.

"Never," Aria smiled as she watched him, her eyes gentle. "Your hair is too pretty the way it is to curl...silly man...

"Oh, glad to know that's the only thing stopping you," he laughed softly, actually blushing as he looked down.

Aria watched him at the blush, grinning as she leant closer. "Wait...is that...oh my, what has made that rush of colour come to your cheeks? You haven't blushed like that since I called you Counsellor Sexy!"

He pushed her shoulder with a laugh, his eyes shining with the grin. "Shut up, Aria Rice, or I'll paint your nails pink and colour your hair blonde."

She gasped, her eyes wide as she touched her hair. "Turn me into a Stepford Wife? Hell to the no!" she shook her finger at him, shaking her head. "I'd shave your head if you tried that!"

"My luscious locks!" he chuckled, running his hand over it. "Actually, I used to have a shaved head now and then. Not completely off, just clipped short...." he reached for a padd, bringing up his pictures before finding one of him with it, offering it over.

Aria looked at it, her eyes widening. "Shut up...that is...wow..." she smiled, moving up beside him. "Look at that! I prefer you with longer hair though..." she met his eyes with a giggle. "Just...you look better with it."

"Not so hard nut about to steal you?" he smiled softly, nudging her gently in the side with her elbow.

She smiled as she reached to stroke over his hair before gently, teasingly, gripping it. "Oh, I am not touching those shaven head people...just way too much masculinity wanting to vent itself in cave-man fashion."

"If I was feeling better I'd throw you over my shoulder just for that comment," Dorian teased with a smile, offering a crisp over.

Aria leant close to take it, moaning as she closed her eyes. "Mm...that's nice. I feel like I should put you on blind dates with people now...you're too nice to just be...stuck with me."

"Oh no you don't," Dorian waved a finger in front of her. "Oh no. I've heard of Aria Cupid Rice. Not this time...."

"Hey, you could get married with someone!" she met his eyes, smiling as she watched him. "I could help your bride or groom find an outfit..."

"Or....I could be happy just like this without awkward dates," he shook his head firmly.

She smiled at that before nodding, resting back. "I hate dates! What do you talk about? And you can't eat much or else you look like a piggy and no messy food..." she took the spoon and helped herself to more ice cream, licking some off her hand when it spilled.

"Like that...." he teased with a fond smile, taking a napkin to wipe her hand gently. "Doesn't bother me if someone eats lots. A love of life. Someone who picks at food on a date is trying too hard, it's a sign they're trying to hide stuff."

"So what do you do then?" Aria asked with interest, holding his eyes as she let him wipe her hand. It was fun, just talking. She knew a lot about him, but...not this stuff.

"I gave up on dates. They're so....false. I prefer to just, I dunno, get to know someone naturally. A drink, a holodeck programme, chatting when we get the chance."

"I think you're right..." Aria said and touched his cheek, with a chuckle. "I mean, everyone tries to act when put on the spot. Tries to be their...best. But we're not."

"Or what they think the other person wants," Dorian smiled softly, shaking his head as he looked down. "Who am I to talk though. Not particularly lucky in love.

"Well..." Aria shrugged, looking back at the screen. "They were stupid then. You're a catch. A beautiful one. A kind one. A genuine good person."

Dorian shook his head with a warm smile, giving her a quick hug. "Got you fooled, don't I."

She smiled as she hugged him back, closing her eyes. "No, you don't act around me. I see the heart of you. I see it and I recognise it...you're a strong man, Dorian...and one of the loneliest people I have ever met. And you're not. You have me."

He looked to her with surprise, letting out a long, soft breath, smiling gently to her. "You're right," he whispered. "I guess sometimes I find it hard to figure out where I...fit."

She met his eyes before touching his chest, over his heart. "On this ship. Helping people. Being yourself..." she leant and kissed his cheek, chuckling. "I wouldn't change you for the world."

He grinned at the warm words, leaning to kiss her cheek softly in return. "I have questions and doubts just like anyone else. As a counsellor, you just try and keep them all down."

"Isn't that what you advise others not to do?" she teased, nudging him before reaching for a crisp. "Typical 'do as I say, not as I do'..."

"Absolutely....I defy you to find a healthcare professional that isn't the same," he challenged with an arched eyebrow.

"Okay, fair point," she giggled and touched his arm, sighing as she eased back. "Jobs are funny that way...how they define you. Especially Starfleet."

"Yeah," Dorian eased back to lie next to her, stretching his arm over his head as he looked at the ceiling. "You're not what I would expect of a security girl," he chuckled softly. "And I'm allowed to say that because I used to be a security boy."

"Well, I am the classic 'daddy's girl'...only in Security because I couldn't be a Marine," she said as she glanced at him, with a small smile. "It suits me just fine. I am a happy little worker bee. Get the job done to the best of my abilities. I try to be my best."

"Then you are your best," he said softly with a small smile, shaking his head gently.

She smiled warmly, squeezing his arm. "I hope so. It's not always easy. My...morals get in the way on occasion. My conscience is one loud thing, screaming in my head. It's led to half the problems I have had. But I am five by five."

"All shiny?" Dorian asked with a playful smile, using the word he'd picked up from her.

Aria laughed warmly, turning her head to watch the ceiling with shining eyes. "All shiny. And life can be. This shows it, you know."
