Mission: Episode 06 - Legend of Souls
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 5 Corridor
Timeline: MD07 - 15:55 hours

ON:

Jeroen frowned as he walked down the corridor, heading to his quarters. He had visited the science department briefly, just to show his face now that he had returned. The ship was in chaos, between the tribbles, the yellow alert and the rumours of the away team being beamed on in a bad way. If nothing else, it was...well. It was most certainly an interesting experience being back. He wore civilian clothes, his hair free, his face unshaven. Jeans, comfortable boots and a shirt. Clothes he felt he could move in. In truth, it was all he had been wearing while he had been away. Clothes he could work in.

As Scarlet walked around the corner, slightly unsteady on her feet with her balance whacked out. She slammed straight into him, breathing harder with the impact. "Sorry..." she looked up to see who it was, watching Jeroen with surprise. "Roen? Oh my god," she hugged him close with a small smile. "I knew you were due back, I didn't realise you were already here...."

Jeroen hugged her, frowning as he touched her head. He pulled back, taking in her face. "Scarlet...you're bleeding," he said, with clear concern. "What happened? Why aren't you in sickbay?"

"Oh, I'd waited around long enough, there's work to do," Scarlet frowned, shaking her head softly, the thumping getting heavier with it. She didn't know she had blood on her face that had escaped from her nose and her mouth, and her dark hair was soaked and matted with blood at the base of her skull. "You know what it's like."

He frowned as he took her arm before picking her up. "I'll take you to my quarters. I should be able to take care of the surface stuff, but I am not a doctor."

Scarlet blinked with surprise at being lifted, but was too tired to argue and it took some of the pressure off her headache. "You're a star," she said softly, squeezing his arm.

He smiled weakly as he carried her, glad his room mate wasn't in. "I'm back. I am sorry I had to leave," he said, softly, getting her to his room. He got her on the bunk before touching her cheek. He stroked, tenderly, before moving to get the medical kit. "What happened?"

"Way too much," she replied dryly, waving her finger from side to side with a frown. "I'm still not even sure on half of it. All I know, we were fighting some kind of thing and then a cave in had us falling down into some cavern, and it was some mighty drop too," she motioned to her head.

Jeroen frowned as he moved to heal the cut, his free hand getting the hair from the wound. "You should really see a doctor," he said, with clear concern. "You could have a serious concussion."

"They're occupied at the moment, it's mad," Scarlet frowned, waving her hand again, as if to replace shaking her head. "I need to get to work, there's so much to get....straight."

He nodded weakly, turning the regenerator on, frowning. "Once I've done this, you're going to have some sugary tea. Get your bearing again."

Scarlet watched him, fondness on her features despite everything. "There's the Englishman...everything solved by tea...."

"Most things are," he said as he smiled, shaking his head. "Not everything, we have alcohol for those bits tea don't touch."

"Shame that it only really tastes good in coffee, not tea," she teased with a soft smile, starting to relax a little as the slowly healing soft tissue and skin over the base of her skull.

He smiled warmly, shaking his head at that. "I am sure we can have a drink later. Without the tea."

"So long as you promise to come over and see us?" Scarlet said firmly, holding his eyes, not letting him say no.

"I promise," he said with a smile, finishing before leaning to kiss her hair. "It's all I can do."

"Good as new?" she asked with a small smile, turning her head one way and then another, as if modelling for him.

He watched her, nodding as he touched her cheek. "You should see a real doctor," he said before shaking his head.

"Soon, if the headaches don't go," she promised, pushing herself up to stand with a sigh. "But right now? I need to get down everything that happened in the mine."

"I can walk you to your office?" he suggested, watching her for a long moment, with a small smile. He did not wish to let her go that soon.

"Chaperone?" Scarlet said softly with surprise but nodded, motioning for him to walk with her. "Perhaps I need one."

"Just someone to make sure you get there in one piece," he said and walked with her, a small smile on his lips.
