Victarion smiled as he moved down the corridor, heading to one of the newer additions of the crew's quarters. He was doing rounds...just check up to see how the crew that had transferred before the Venture was attacked were settling in. He rang the chime, looking down at the padd. Crewman Ash Rowe. In the flight department.

"Come in!" Ash called out, doing her jacket up as she looked to the door with mild surprise. She didn't have a roommate yet, but she was expecting to be bunked with someone with the amount of people onboard at the moment. And she didn't expect anyone. Hell, she didn't know anyone yet, not really.

Victarion looked around, smiling gently as he met her eyes. "Crewman...I'm Victarion Jaquen, the Yeoman. Just checking in and seeing if there is anything you need."

Ash blinked with surprise, but smiled quickly as she reached out to slap his shoulder. "Nice to meet you, Victarion. And I'm Ash. I don't like being called a crewman, or any other kind of man."

He smiled as he nodded, watching her easily. "Ash then," he said as he looked around. "At least you got some personal belongings."

"Yeah, I guess I was lucky, being due to transfer before, well," Ash shrugged with a frown at the thought of the fate of Venture, rubbing her arm. "Still, I'm not bunked with anyone yet. I'm surprised." In truth, even if she had been she would still have been ecstatic, being allowed to finally leave Sickbay after getting injured in the very first opening blows with the Borg , before she'd even been able to report in or settle to her new quarters.

Victarion nodded, watching her before looking down at the PADD. "I suspect you will. We have some of the Venture's old crew in sickbay being treated for the Borg virus."

She nodded with understanding, tilting her head. "I figured as much," she admitted with a small smile. "So long as I don't get bunked with another Betazoid, I don't mind. They always want to do the head talking thing."

"You..." he watched her before nodding with a gentle smile. "Of course, your genetic mutation...I forgot you were a Betazoid."

Ash gave a half smile at that as she moved to perch on the edge of her bed, motioning him to join her. "Yeah, people don't always realise with the blue eyes. It's alright, there are worse things to be mistaken for than humans, which is what's usually assumed," she laughed.

Victarion smiled at that and sat down, watching her for a moment. "Giving you a nice advantage," he said openly, with no judgment. He didn't see the issue, since his species believed in openness.

"You know, I've heard that before about Betazoids. What does 'advantage' mean?" she asked, but with a genuine smile of curiosity.

"You can sense and read people," he said softly, with a small smile as he searched her eyes. "And adapt."

"Yeah, it also means I know when someone's being a bitch enough to lie to my face. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss," Ash pointed out, but with a smile.

He laughed at that, shaking his head as he watched her. "Well...or you could be the butt of people's jokes..."

"Trust me, being Betazoid doesn't stop that from happening. People either don't realise because of my eyes, or they forget," Ash winked to him with a grin. "But that's okay, because revenge is a dish best served cold."

"Is it?" he asked as he smiled, taking her in with warmth. "I prefer serving it...well...I try not to..." he stopped himself and shook his head. "I mean, maybe a bit of emotional warfare if someone truly pisses me off."

"Uh huh," she folded her arms with a laugh, her eyes shining as she shook her head. "I'll make sure not to then."

Victarion smiled gently as he nodded, his eyes gentle. "Thank you. And I will make a point of being extra honest with you."

"You should be careful, it might become a habit," she grinned, slapping his arm warmly.
