It felt good to be back into work. Hell, for Ver, it meant things were improving. His hair was slowly growing back, his eyebrows were back...sort of...and he had the stubble back. And after a quick tour of the ship and assuring the engineers that no, he would not blow the ship up with some amazing ninja Borg abilities he got, he was let out to do minor repairs. And as it was the Gamma shift, he headed to the flight bay. There were minor issues there that were far down the list with everything else that needed to be repaired that he had decided to give them a leg up.

And besides, he liked the shuttles. He preferred working on them than a console or a replicator. He let out a low whistle as he looked around, taking it in. This was a small ship, but they had still some good shuttles here.

"Oh, come on, give me a break, sweetheart," a voice murmured from under a shuttle, where a pair of legs were sticking out from under it, laid out on the floor.

"Sure...I hear that the beaches on Risa are pretty," Ver said with a grin, kneeling to try and look to see who was under the shuttle.

Pushing out from under the shuttle, Ash Rowe sat up, pursing her lips to blow the long blonde hair that had escaped the braid out of her face. She watched him with blue eyes, smiling as she brushed her hands together. "Are you the cavalry?"

He watched her with surprise. She was...pretty. Very pretty and he hadn't expected that. He smiled to her, knowing he was grinning like an idiot. "I can be. If you want me to be..."

"Yes, please!" she reached a hand up to him with expectation that he'd help pull her up off the floor. "I think this baby took a hit during the battle. I've tried to patch her up, but I can only do so much."

He nodded, frowning as he looked at her hand before pulling her up. "Right...let me have a look..." he shrugged himself out of the uniform jacket and grabbed the tools, going under the shuttle. "Shit, it's all half fried...what the hell happened to the poor darling?"

"Not sure, I haven't been around," she admitted with a frown, scratching her hair but only managing to smear a black smudge across her forehead. "She took a beating during the Borg fight, and with the engineers struggling with the rest of the ship, well, I was trying to do a good turn here."

"Good turns get you in trouble," he said as he frowned, taking a breath. "Let's see...okay, I can see the issue. Fuses are all burnt out, would have been the discharge from the weapons hitting us. Sometimes, the energy from the shields can fry things like this. Especially on older models. We can save this baby though."

Ash smiled and nodded with approval, tapping the side of the small bird. "Now she's got a decent pair of hands on her," she winked to him with a smile.

"Oh, she's not the only one who can get that..." he said before blushing, swearing under his breath. Mouth. Brain. Needed to connect. And bloody well not say stupid things to pretty girls. "Err...I'll sort her out. See if I can salvage some bits and bobs."

"Not the only one who can that either?" she teased with a good natured smile to try and put him back at ease, sitting herself back down to open the toolkit. "Here, I'll be your right hand man."

"Just what I need actually," he said and smiled warmly. He took a deeper breath, looking at the shuttle. "Okay, let's see if we can make her sing for us..."
