Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 5, Storage Bay
Timeline: MD 07 - 1940 hrs

ON:

Deck 5 - Storage Bay

Luke was use to getting into fights, but usually he was backed by half a dozen Marines. But since this ship lacked such, he found himself fighting off several security officers all at once. Ducking quickly as a chair was hurtled towards him before he charged forward, knocking down one and winding another.

"Marine Scum!" Nathan one of Ventures security guards shouted. He obviously was next to be knocked down a peg or two. Luke tilted his head back dodging a punch from a third assaulter, Aaron. Before punching him in the ribs, hard, feeling the tell tale cracks of a rib. Luke wasn't totally unscaved, however he had a throbbing pain in his back from when this all had started when a very large metallic object hit him on the back of the shoulder. Blood also ran down his left leg.

Christoph, one of Galileo's security personnel, was sitting on a bunk in the Storage Bay. She saw the writing on the wall with what was taking place. With her side still hurting she was no help. She tapped her Comm on a security channel, =^=Christoph to Security. We need some people down here on Deck 5, Storage Bay. Sooner than later.=^=

In a matter of minutes the training area had changed into a gladiatorial blood bath and Luke was doing fairly well being outnumbered 4 to 1. He was defiantly Spartacus in terms of the gladiator. Side stepping left and rolling forward he punched upwards, thrusting his fist into a groin the receiving person sending him crumbling in pain. One thing about fighting Marines was they held no bars and anything went.

Galileo's XO had been going through a rough recovery. However good it felt to slip back into a uniform than into Borg exoplating couldn't hide the fact he was still hurting. With a few implants still marking his body awaiting removal and a walking cane in one hand, he had been less than impressed to hear a call over the comm from one of the lower decks about an altercation. As he made his way to the source of the disturbance, Commander Holliday witnessed for himself the mess his staff were in.

"ATTENTION ON DECK!!!"

Luke was just about to crack a stool he had picked up from the floor when the room flooded with shout 'Great' Luke said dropping the chair watching a few Security losers pick themselves up of the floor.

Everyone that had been spectating or previously engaged in the brawl snapped to attention. Luke had heard about the ships executive commander Jonathan Holliday and everything about his aura, despite him being captured by the Borg and assimilated commanded respect and order.

Lt. Rhodes came into the Storage Bay at a run and stopped just to the right of the XO. He sized up the situation rather quickly; those fighting, those watching, items broken, no one looked unconscious at the moment. With the XO there Theron thought it best to let Commander Holiday lead, until otherwise instructed. The Security Chief put his hands on his hips with a stern look on his face.

"Does someone want to tell me what the hell is going on in here?!!" John bellowed out across the room, his steely eyes locking contact with each and every member of his crew as they struggled to pick themselves up from the floor.

"I want to know who started this and I want to know right this second!"

Luke should have seen the next part coming. With most arms pointing his way he rolled his eyes knowing the inevitable was about to happen 'You've got to be kidding me' he thought looking at the commanding officer.

Theron canted his head slightly looking at the Marine everyone seemed to be pointing to. "Gunny?" the security officer queried and stepped closer to him. "Gunnery Sergeant, answer the Commander's question." then gave him a wink only he could see.

Luke wondered what the wink was for, looking at the commander he broke a smile. "I think it was more of a group effort." He was not getting all the blame for this.

The Commander was less than impressed about being smiled at during a dressing down - such things were simply not correct. Placing his cane ahead of him, the XO moved forward a few steps until he was closer to this Marine. He had never gotten on with their type - usually thinking they were superior to fleet staff, but they had their uses.

Lt. Rhodes stepped back a little to give the Commander as much room as he needed. The Chief of Security glanced around the room at the members of his team and those from Venture that had taken part of this brawl and made a mental note.

"Sergeant...I suggest you start answering my questions before I bust your balls myself. What the hell happened here?"

The XO was not usually known for resorting to such crude language, but in this instance he could not help himself - something inside of him was angry, something dark, and sinister, something left over from his time in the Collective that would simply love to break free.

"Me and my friends were just settling an agreement, I think they understand my point very clearly now." His tone wasn't hostile and didn't mean to invoke any upsets. He shifted his eyes around the room willing any of them to disagree. The pain in his arm hadn't subsided, but looking at Holliday was like looking down the barrel of a loaded gun.

John looked around at the pile of security personnel who looked rather sorry for themselves nursing a series of wounds. He was less than impressed by the actions of his crew, and they were surely going to know quite how upset he was.

"A disagreement? Perhaps someone would like to tell me a little more? Or do I need to make that an order?"

Rhodes glanced at the Commander then away, looking from face to face also waiting for an explaination.

Holliday turned on his heels, walking down the line of injured crewmembers before turning back once again and walking along the line again.

"Well....I'm waiting? Anyone brave enough to explain when it was made acceptable for serving personnel to start a brawl on my ship?"

Aaron stepped forward. 'Stepped' was too predominant. It was more of a shuffle forward "We was just minding our business when the Gunny wanted to show us how Marines done things the right way. We disagreed."

As Scarlet Blake moved into the room, she caught the tail end of what was being said. When the call had gone through, she'd made her way over in case the First Officer still had too much recovery ahead to deal with a situation like this. Seeing that he had it neatly under control, she moved to stand near Theron, folding her arms and watching silently to hear the inevitable accusations fly.

John turned to face the newest voice in the group, thoroughly unimpressed that anyone serving under him would have turned to violence as a way to settle their differences. His back was still sore after the removal of his Borg spinal clamps, but gritting his teeth through the pain, he stood as tall as he could before speaking.

"You disagreed? This doesn't look like a disagreement....this looks like a bunch of first year cadets who miss their mothers!"

The XO was not about to show weakness or pain in front of his subordinates, taking a moment to breathe, he swallowed his discomfort before continuing any further.

"Lieutenants Rhodes and Rice - escort these men to the Brig...and have someone from Medical come and patch them up."

"Aye aye, Sir! Rhodes snapped back.

The XO looked over his shoulder to his two most senior security officers, knowing that they would carry out his orders without question, before turning back to the assembled rabble.

"You are all hereby confined to the Brig for the next two days...and your holodeck privileges are revoked for the next week. This incident will be noted on your service records. Lieutenant Rhodes, get them out of my sight."

Not a half second passed before LT. Rhodes barked, "All Right! Move out. Single file. Out the door and turn right."

Rhodes tapped his Comm, =^=Rhodes to Security, We are bringing in a large group. We will be utilizing all cells.=^=

"Oh and Mr. Rhodes..." The XO continued as he started watching the trail of uniforms being led away to the Brig. "Have the Gunnery Sergeant cleaned up - I expect the Captain will want to speak with him in person."

Turning back to face the Commander, "Aye Sir." Rhodes replied. Looking back at the line of men and women walking out of the Cargo Bay, "Let's keep moving."

Scarlet watched with folded arms and cold eyes as the brawlers were shoved past her. Her eyes were narrowed slightly, a delicate eyebrow arched and her expression said one thing. Pathetic.

Great. Luke's heart sank when he saw Scarlet's expression. Ever since he had met her and Lily, he had not made any attempt to speak to her mostly because he didn't want to give her the wrong impression of Luke being some loved up school boy with him and Taryn spending a lot of time together. Following the conga line of officer he passed out through the doors. This was going to be a long day.

Lt. Rhodes with hands on hips looked around the storage room at the few remaining crew members. These were the ones smart enough not to get involved in the confrontation. The Security Chief spoke clearly and it was not a request. "The rest of you. Take a few minutes and clean up this place." He then headed out the door and to the Brig.

Deck 3 - Security Office/Brig

Luke was first through the doors and into the Brig. He couldn't believe in less than a couple of weeks he found himself here. He wasn't even the type of person to fight, he had let himself down and now he was going to feel the repercussions. Turning to face the other men who walked into the room, he felt like it was their fault and no doubt they thought the same about him. How would anyone believe he would openly start a fight with half a dozen men was beyond him.

The security personnel separated the Marines from the Starfleet personnel into separate cells.

Aria frowned as she watched, taking it all in. She had worried about something like this...so understandably, she was angry. "Now what in the Seven Hells were you all thinking?" she demanded, walking to the force field to watch them all.

No one spoke up. They simply murmured between themselves before turning around sitting on the floor with their backs against the wall. Luke decided that keeping quiet was the best game to play, until he was in front of the captain. He felt sorry for Aria. The Venture security crew didn't know what she was capable of despite her size.

Aria looked at them all, with anger in her eyes. "Great. You are all a bunch of dicks, just so you are fully aware of it," she snapped, shaking her head.

Lt. Rhodes finally came into the Brig and looked over the situation. Stepping up next to Rice, he said looking over to the gunny. "The XO said to get Sergeant Wyatt cleaned up. He will most likely be seeing the Captain fairly quickly."

Aria looked at Rhodes before frowning, her jaw set grimly. "Cleaned up? Sometimes, you have to show a man for what he is. They're responsible for their own actions; Gunnery Sergeant Wyatt should show that."

Luke stood to the edge of his force field, "Um Aria, before we go around pointing fingers, I would like to say I was the one defending myself!" He snapped quickly, fair enough he could have stopped, but he wanted to make sure he ended all future disagreements before they happened. "I didn't actually start the fighting," he added.

Aria moved close to the force field, meeting his eyes with anger. "You know what happens when grown people get into an argument? They walk away. Not take a swing, not even swing back. This is not a Marine ship. This is not a Klingon ship. We do not tolerate people having fights, regardless of who threw the first punch. And if you are ever in trouble, you know what you do? You get Security. You don't 'defend' yourself with your fists. Especially now! Do you think we have time to deal with this? Like we have nothing better to do with our time? Grow up, Marine...." she looked at the others, shaking her head. "Actually, all of you, just...grow up and take responsibility for your actions and your tempers."

"Especially now?" Luke scoffed "You're kidding me right? I have done just as much as the rest of you! I didn't have to go aboard that Borg cube, I didn't have to help you, but I did, despite my injuries! I could have just given up and laid in sickbay the entire time, but I didn't! And do not stand on the other side of that force field looking down at me calling by what I am. Yes, I am marine apparently that's what everyone see's me as, not a father, not someone who actually cares for the person to his left and the right of him. Not the person who would happily put his self in the way of a bullet for anyone of you, even the people who would so often frown upon me." He bit his tongue, but found the urge to carry on. Years of violence and emotion filtering through his hard emotionless exoskeleton.

"That's the problem with you younger generation you haven't really seen death, not really. Becuase this? Yeah, it's a tragedy. It truly, truly is. But, want to know how many people lost their lifes during the dominion war? No, of course not, because you 'read' about it at the academy. There was no marine starfleet divide even the Vulcan, Klingons. Hell, the damned Romulans were able to settle their differences. But it's fine, don't worry I got in a fight. I defended myself, which makes me the bad guy." He turned around sitting on the highly uncomfortable chair. Abbey would have scolded him for the way he was acting. "To think, I thought about joining this ship." He shook his head before placing it in his hair. Luke was defiantly broken emotionally and physically. He'd had given up, and now let himself down because of it. "Sorry." He muttered sighing heavily. He especially didn't mean to shout at anyone.

Aria had paled during his little 'speech', the anger she felt chilling her to her core. "You bastard," she breathed, watching him closely. The words made her look at him differently...a man with a chip on his shoulders? More like someone who thought far higher about himself than he should at this rate. "You don't know me or anything about me. And if you want to sit there and feel sorry for yourself because you got into a fight and you decided to continue it rather than walk away, then fine. If you feel like we should owe you for coming with us, then fine...feel like it, although I am not sure which Fleet you joined if you think this magically makes you unique. I'll tell you something right now though, for free. I don't have the time to deal with grown men acting like children. So sit there and rot until the Captain sees you." She turned away, looking at Rhodes before walking away from them. "I'll be in the main office, Sir," she told him as she passed him...and it was the flatness of her voice that betrayed how furious she was.

Rhodes had stood and listened to the two have their say. It seemed that each had very strong opinions and feeling about what they said. The Chief gave Aria a nod as she passed him. He definitely understood her position. Well, he thought he did.

Theron took a couple steps up to the force field, facing the Gunny. "I am sure you have your reasons for reacting in a violent manner. But . . " He looked toward the direction Aria had left, then back to Luke, "trying to convince some is just not possible."

Luke looked up from where he sat, Aria clearly got the wrong impression and didn't really get what he was trying to say. He wasn't sorry for the fighting, yes he wished it didn't happen, but it was inevitable. But he was sorry for shouting at her like he did. "I'll try and make peace with her after this mess is cleaned up," he finally replied to Theron.

"On another day." Theron replied. "Definately, not this day." He turned and motioned to the security personnel sitting at the control console. The force field was deactivated. Rhodes handed Luke a clean uniform, all folded in a neat stack. "Get yourself cleaned up. You will want to be at your Marine best when the Captain calls."

Luke took the clothes and placed them on the bed before starting to unzip his tattered uniform "Thanks," he said simply knowing that words for now were just not really needed.

The security Chief then added, "And just for the record, I would very much like to see you remain on the Galileo."
