Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 1, Bridge
Timeline: MD05 - 1615 Hours

ON:

Luke was on a mission to get as familiarized with this ship as he was with the Venture. The first person on his list was an Ensign T'Srrr'Kharh one the ships flight control officer. Stepping out onto the Bridge from the turbo lift he scanned the room. Just as most of the ship the Bridge had not gone untouched from the engagement with the Borg, bits and pieces still laid on the floor and consoles were still sparking though it had seemed that the Bridge had more of a clear out than some places were fire's were still breaking out.

Scanning the room he finally spotted his target a Caitian female wearing the tell tale red uniform of someone either apart of the Command team or a helmsman. Walking over he stood a couple of meters appreciating that everyone was still a bit jumpy "Excuse me, Ensign Te'Shhr'Car?" He found pronouncing her name very difficult.

The navigational console had been almost completely rebuilt now: with the help of various engineers and scientists, S'Ranna had ensured it was free of Borg nanoprobes, and although it still showed some signs of damage, it was restored to functionality. But it lay inactive, the controls dead: the Borg tractor beam towing them left them with no helm control, and at the start of Beta shift S'Ranna had taken over her seat with nothing to do but watch the astrogation charts and update their position as they were dragged towards uncertain fate.

As such, the usually friendly Caitian was not in the best of moods at present; whereas she would normally greet a fellow member of her crew with a long-fanged smile or a wave of her paws, now all she favoured Luke with was a disgruntled flick of her tail. "T'Srrr'Kharh," she corrected with a languid purr. "Yes, I have the honourrr of being Ensign T'Srrr'Kharh."

Luke could scene the Caitian was not in the most speaking of moods but he had not had his chance to do anything but clear rublly and since he spent most of the fighting asleep whilst his wounds heal he felt restless. He took a moment to glance at his burnt arm. "I have been told that your one of the best pilots aboard the ship? Would you disagree?" Luke imagined that playing compliments and giving a helping hand to the Caition would return in his favour

S'Ranna followed his glance, narrowing her golden eyes suspiciously. "Is yourrr paw injurrred?" She pointed to his arm. "If you have some kind of incapacity, you should see Doctorrr Allyndrrra in Sickbay. I am surrre that she will be able to trrreat you." She gave a small harrrrumph and turned back to her console.

"As to being one of the best pilots, perrrhaps, but it is not forrr me to say." Her piloting skills were a sore spot for her at the moment: she had been at the helm when the ship was captured, and although she had been repeatedly reassured by others that she could have done nothing else, the guilt of being unable to outfly the Cube continued to gnaw at her. "Talk is easy...trrrue ability at flight can be tested only by seeing a perrrson in action."

"Well said and Rightly so! I don't have much use on the ship being the one and only Marine however with our numbers dwindling I want to see that I can adapt quickly. Would you interested in teaching me the basic flying a starship?" He let the question lingure "It wont be like teaching a baby walk I can assure you, I have logged my fair share of fighter hours but I can imagine it being somewhat different"

S'Ranna stuck out her tongue, black and barbed with small spikes, at the mention of fighters. She considered them a monumental waste of Federation resources that made no tactical sense whatsoever, a relic of a completely different era. The sooner they were eliminated entirely the better. "I do not wish to be indelicate, Serrrgeant, but we do not currrrently have helm contrrrol. We arrre being drrragged to an unknown location by a Borrrg cube. This really does not seem like the time forrr piloting lessons."

She rubbed her paw with her nose and sighed. "But then again, we do not rrreally have a lot to do now that we have rrrepairrred the console. I can help, if you like: therrre arrre some holoprrrogrrrams that arrre quite useful. I am currrently on shift, but we can set up a time and meet on the holodeck. Is therrre anything you arrre parrrticularrrly wishing to learrrn?"

"Just the basics. Up, down, left, right, forward and back" He considered picking up the topic as to why she was being so hard on herself from what he had heard she was totally at a limb to do anything after the Borg had engaged the tractor beam. Getting the ship this far was being amazement itself.

S'Ranna shook her head. "No, no, you will have to adjust yourrr thinking. Up, down, left, rrright...this model does not worrrk forrr space flight. Remember, the prrrinciples of inerrrtia arrre verrry differrrent in space. It seems we will have much to coverrr: we should begin at once. What time would be convenient for you? My shift technically ends at 2359 today, but I can prrrobably get out earrrlierrr."

Luke shrugged "Your will my hands! I have nowhere to be hence why I am looking for things to preoccupy my time" he admitted sadly. He hated being anything less than in the thick of it but right now he just felt lost.

"Verrry well," mused S'Ranna. "I will take my meal break at 2000; perrrhaps we can meet on Holodeck 2 at 2030. We should have enough time for a full simulation then." She swished her tail then. "So, 2030, agrrreed?"

"We are in agreement" he replied unaware that he was watching her tail idly swish he had never met a Caitian before and the thought of having something just 'be there' was strange to him.

S'Ranna was used to unthinking stares from those not familiar with her species. Wiggling her ears in irritation, she flicked up her tail out of the way. "Good, 2030 it is. I will see you therrre. Now, unless therrre is anything else you rrrequirrre of me, I should rrreturrrn to rrreprogrrramming my flight patterrrns."

"Thankyou, I will see you at 2030. Be there or be square" nodding his head passing a gentle smile he turned and made for the turbo lift. He had some preparation to do before his flying lessons.
