Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo: Victarion and Keval's
Timeline: MD 05 - 1830 hrs

[ON]

Keval was dressed for bed, pale blue scrubs that were almost the same color as his skin and sitting on the couch his knees up an a sketch pad leaning against them.

Soft Earth Jazz was playing in the background. Like many of his sketches, this one was dark and brooding and he was focused on getting the mood just right. This one would probably not see the light of day, but that didn't matter he was a perfectionist about such things

The tip of his tongue a darker blue than his body, poked out slightly between his lips and was so focused he didn't hear his roommate enter.

Victarion looked, if anything, tired. He smiled weakly and gave Keval a nod, walking to change into something to sleep in.

The Andorian looked up as Victarion entered, "Wow man, you look exhausted, are you okay?"

"Just...been a long day," he said and looked over at him, with a small smile. "Lots to go through. Reports and that such."

"Yeah you look like it has been a long day. Are you hungry? I have some left over lasagna I fixed just this afternoon."

"I'm okay, I ate at my desk," he said as he met his eyes for a long moment. "How was your day? I guess you are also quite busy nowadays."

"Yeah I am, but no more so than usual. "I am almost done with this sketch. Would you like to see it?"

"Sure," Victarion nodded and walked to him, taking a breath. Maybe it would be a good distraction. He was still mentally recovering from everything that had happened during the mission.

Keval looked up at him as he approached, then held out the sketch to him

It was a picture of three men holding off four or five Borg drones. It was hard to tell for sure, but he mood seemed dark and foreboding, like they were losing. Victorian's face looked anguished. The faces of the other two were incomplete

He looked at it, paling as he stared at it. He shook his head, biting his lip. "I...it's very well drawn..." he said quietly. It freaked him.

"Victarion, I'm sorry," he said as he noticed the expression that crossed the other man's face. 'I lost my antennae, got a concussion and I still don't if a girl I tried to rescue is going to live. drawing is just my way of dealing with it.

Sit down here and tell me about what you went through."

"There's nothing to tell," he said as he watched him, frowning as he watched him. "I am glad you are okay. I truly am. But...I do not wish to talk about it."

"I'm not going to push it, "Keval responded, "But I can see it in your eyes that something is bothering you. I just want you to know I am here if you need me."

"Thank you," Victarion smiled weakly, giving a nod before moving to get some tea. "Want a hot drink? You should take it easy with your head."

"Yeah I know, I get disoriented if I stand up or move too quickly. Pumpkin spice latte please."

He nodded, getting him a pumpkin spiced latte and a cup of strong tea for himself. He carried it over to him and smiled gently. "Got some medical leave, right?"

"Yeah, he replied. "A couple of weeks I was thinking of spending time on the holodeck. I've got a nice Risa program. Plenty of sunshine, pristine beaches, cool waters and hot guys.

You want to join me? Looks like you could use it."

He smiled weakly as he shook his head, watching him. "I...prefer just sitting with a book," he confessed softly. "I am a bit boring. I know I am. But we could maybe sit and relax together on a beach?"

"Yeah I am usually more active, but I think lounging around on a beach is about as exciting as I want to get. So when do you want to go?"

"Whenever we get shoreleave I suppose," he said as he smiled, his eyes gentle as he regarded him. "You deserve some rest and fun."

"Thanks," he replied running a hand through his short white hair,. "So would it be too personal to ask if you were dating anyone, or if your people even believe in dating?"

He looked at him with surprise before smiling weakly. "We...have liaisons. We believe in pleasure. And love too. I...am not dating anyone. But there is someone who has my..." was heart too strong a word? "Attention."

"I see," Keval said, "There is someone who has my 'attention' as well. Though I see nothing wrong with being drawn to more than one person. Did I ever mention that you were an extremely handsome guy? And I heard how you performed on the Bridge."

He watched him before frowning, shaking his head weakly. "I...was a coward."

"How were you a coward?" Keval asked concern in his voice.

"I hid," he admitted and shook his head, watching Keval. "I hid. I am not a hero. I do not believe in violence."

"That makes you a pacifist, not a coward there is a difference. And I don't blame you from hiding from the Borg and their whole Universe damned assimilation shit. What could you have done against them. especially since you had no weapon. That's not cowardice that is sanity.'

He laid a hand on the other officer's shoulder,"Don't be too hard on yourself."

"I try not to be," he said and smiled gently, watching him. "Look at you...you went to the war."

He pointed to his missing antennae. "Yeah well that didn't go so well either. I am just glad to be alive and I am convinced now more than ever that life is too short and i want someone to fall in love with.

Someone like you. I don't mean you specifically, just someone like you. Caring, considerate an whether you know it or not courageous."

He smiled weakly as he watched him, reaching to touch close to where the antenna was meant to be. "Well...might not be the best material in the world. But it'll be okay...you will find someone. You are a good man."

"Thank you, that means a lot," Keval said as he felt a cool hand touch his forehead. He lit the touch linger momentarily then reached out and took the hand in his own left hand. For the briefest of moments, he considered doing something he had wanted to do since the first time Victarion had caught him naked, kiss him. He even brought his head closer, but decided that the fellow officer might be offended by his actions, so he stopped himself.Instead he gently squeezed the hand.

"You'll find someone special too."
