Mission: Episode 03 - Frontier
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 2, Mess Hall
Timeline: MD 05 - 1130 hrs

Previously...

The Deltan licked her fingers clean of fruit juice, allowing the residual waves of Lirha's sensations to wash over her as she dropped her foot back to the ground and slipped her toes up inside Lirha's pantleg. Delicious. "You might as well let it run its course," she murmured. "You've still got a meal to eat..." Anera trailed off, glancing up to see a tall red-collared man approaching them, trailed by a nervous looking Trill. "Hello."

And Now, the Conclusion...

[ON]

Lilou ducked her head. It had been Lamar's idea to approach the captain for a seat at her table. The mess hall was full - likely because the lines for the replicators took longer than the prepared meals did - where was the chef anyway? And that was all very well and good, but they could have eaten anywhere - like the floor or the shuttlebay... without interrupting the captain and the... whatever the brightly clothed woman was.

With his meal in one hand and cutlery in the other, the large warrant officer put a reassuring hand on Lilou's lower back and slowly nudged her towards the captain's table. It was the only table which had two vacant seats available and he figured that his desire to sit down and eat overrode his apprehension about sitting with the green-skinned captain. "Hello, Ma'am." he said to the captain, then nodded politely at the other colorfully dressed woman who he did not know. "Are these seats taken?" he asked.

Lilou did her best not to wince as Lamar guided her towards the table. It wasn't that she was embarassed of him, but she had enough trouble getting the officers on this ship to respect her. She didn't need to go giving them more reasons to see her as anything less than Chief of Engineering. And the Captain especially. Carefully, she shifted ahead of his hand and tried to make the move look natural.

To say Lirha was flustered and embarrassed was an understatement; she practically jumped when she heard the voice behind her, and quickly closed her legs as tight as they would go from embarrassment. Clearing her throat of the wetness from her recent orgasm, she craned her head and looked up at the two crew members behind her. One was Warrant Officer Darius, Galileo's only support craft pilot, and the other was the familiar Trill chief engineer. "Hello." she greeted them in a weak voice, then turned to look at Anera to ask for a subtle queue indicating for them to sit. If it was up to her, she would have said no, but that probably wasn't the most appropriate response considering the packed nature of the mess hall at the moment.

Anera smiled, "No one is sitting in them. Please, be welcome." Lirha was flustered, but she would feel better when she realized that neither of the officers had noticed anything amiss. They had other things on their minds. Gently, she stroked her toes against Lirha's ankle and smiled encouragingly at the captain. "We were just talking about Delta IV."

Lamar was happy to settle into his seat and did so with relative ease next to the unfamiliar yet colorful woman. "Delta IV. I'm not familiar with it but it sounds interesting." he commented, then turned towards the woman. "Lamar Darius, support craft pilot." he said with a smile as he formally introduced himself to her and held out his large hand in greeting. He didn't see a rank insignia on her collar, or anywhere else on her clothes, and therefore assumed that she was a civilian.

"I am Anera," she covered his hand with both of her own and squeezed it gently. "How exactly can you think it sounds interesting if you're not familiar with it?" she asked happily. People could be so funny.

Lilou ducked her head and took a deep breath before looking to the captain and trying to say something marginally normal. What came out was: "Sir." And that was all. So she shoved grakizh in her mouth and wished she weren't completely psychotic.

Lirha scooted over in her chair to make for her engineer to sit next to her, all the while hoping and praying that the scent between her legs wasn't noticed by the young Trill. She felt awkward and uncomfortable with wetness still dripping down her thighs despite her best effort to suppress her bodily fluids. "Hello, Miss Peers." she replied in a rugged yet formal voice.

Lamar on the other hand was enthusiastic as always. He looked down at Anera's hands as she clasped them, and gave her a big smile in return. "Well, I was born and raised on Earth. In Philadelphia. But I've heard interesting things about Delta IV, and Deltan's in general. Word of mouth, you know?" he casually explained.

"Oh, yes?" Anera asked, curiously.

"Yeah."

"I have heard nothing about Philadelphia as a specific location on Earth," Anera cleaned off her thumb with her teeth. "What have you heard about us?"

Lilou chewed her salad. Maybe if she ate quickly, she could leave. "I-" why, why, why was she talking? "-have Willis working on a testing algorithm for the kinetic shield upgrades. We should be ready for install in the next couple days. I sent the specs to you and Commander Holliday. Should improve our short term speed by Warp 1.2."

Lamar frowned with disapproval and shook his head at the Deltan. "You've never heard of Philly? The City of Brotherly Love?" he asked incredulously. In his opinion everyone in the galaxy should have heard of Philly. It was his hometown and the greatest Earth city to have graced the quadrant, and he felt slightly offended that the woman dismissed it so quickly. "Let me tell you, there is no greater city on Earth than Philadelphia. And for that matter, the entire Sol system." he exaggerated yet with honest bias. "But to answer your question...well, I've heard that Deltans are a highly sexual and hedonistic race, and they take multiple partners all the time. That's why they have to take some sort of oath when they join Starfleet." he ignorantly added with a big grin, then looked across to Lilou and gave her a wink.

Meanwhile, Lirha squinted her eyes at the warrant officer. He was sadly misinformed in her opinion, but his heart seemed to be in the right place. Perhaps a bit more knowledge would enlighten him, and she hoped Anera would provide that for him. In the interim, Lirha heard her chief engineer's report and slowly nodded. "Very good. I am more interested in improving our burst velocity than anything else. We can be outrun by most ships in the quadrant, but those first few minutes of an engagement are precious." she explained.

"Yes, sir. Understood. Short-term speed," Lilou nodded. Hadn't she said that? She thought she had. She blinked at Lamar. Why was he winking at her? In front of the captain, no less. She gave an almost indiscernable shake of her head. "I'll keep you updated on the progress by PADD."

Anera chuckled, brushing her toes up and down Lirha's leg lazily. "If a Deltan chooses to join Starfleet, they do take an oath, though it's more for their protection than anything else. Do you believe that an appreciation for every level of the mortal experience is something that ought to be controlled or abstained from?"

Lirha nodded at Lilou appreciatively then picked up her fork and cut another large chunk of salmon off of her salad. Taking a big bite, she closed her eyes for a moment and let the flavor of the seasoning calm her quivering sensations. "Thank you." she quietly replied.

After being asked about 'mortal experiences', Lamar took a healthy chunk out of his sandwich and happily chewed, then waved his large hand while glancing at Lilou and the captain. "I wish I could give in to each of my desires and experiences. Especially when and where ever I like. But then I would probably never get anything accomplished." he laughed with a guilty grin.

Anera looked at him quizzically. "You said you were a pilot. Was it not your desire to learn to fly? And to do so for your profession?"

"Yes, ma'am." Lamar answered in between bites of his sandwich. "Recently just received my support craft qualifications, in fact." he added with pride booming in his voice.

"So then you both accomplished something and gave into your desire at the same time." Anera lifted her brows, "No?"

"I suppose so." he answered with a light shrug, then continued to eat. He had never really thought of it that way before, instead it was more of a career re-training, one which would help him imbed himself into the duties of Starfleet as opposed to the Marine Corps.

Lilou pressed her lips together, looking between the three of them. Why had she let him bring her here? She had work to do, she was terrible at conversation, and she didn't want to make an idiot of herself in front of her captain. All she'd wanted was a chance to sit down with him and figure out what it was that was happening inside of her. To know what, if anything, she'd said to him. To see how it was she was supposed to move forward.

Anera met the Trill's gaze and smiled warmly before looking to Lirha. "What was it you were talking about? Speed?"

The captain nodded in between bites of her salad then paused to take a long swig of her drink. "Yes, we are attempting to improve Galileo's short-term warp velocity. She is unfortunately one of the slower ships in the fleet, but I am confident that Ensign Peers here can give us a slight boost to our engines." she explained.

"Fascinating... on, you're Peers!" Anera laughed, catching on finally. "We've spoken via memo, about your apprentice?"

Lilou nodded once, succinctly. She'd figured that out, but it didn't make her want to talk any more than anything else had. "How's he doing?"

"Quite well. I've been following the lesson plan you laid out. You put a lot of thought into it. So nice to see a superior officer taking such interest in building and expanding a young mind. It's little wonder he feels such a need to succeed," the Deltan went on. "He's greatly inspired by your work."

Lilou coughed, nearly choking on the unasked for praise. She'd wanted a status report, not some kind of florid... whatever that was. "Okay..." Her jaw flexed uncomfortably and she glanced at Lamar, "Well I should probably- you know, with the upgrade and everything- all the logistics- take time. Now is better than- I wasn't really hungry anyway. So. Nice to meet you, uh-" She stood quickly, looking between them. "Captain," she bowed her head, "with your permission."

Lirha looked up from her meal. She was still distracted by the residual waves running through her body, but tried her best to remain calm and composed. Giving a engineer a single curt nod, she simply answered, "Of course."

"You're leaving now?" Lamar blurted out in between a large bite of his sandwich. Lilou had barely eaten and the warrant officer tilted his head perplexed by her decision to just up and leave. He knew that she was a very busy woman, probably the busiest crew member on the ship, but still...

Lilou actually winced and it was an effort for her to not take an involuntary step back. "The... magnetic spatial controller needs repair and Willis should be finished running the internal upgrade on the optical databanks field, then there's the oscillating nano-configuration we have to sort out on the new system software for the shield upgrades- I should go. Yes. Thank you, sir." She picked up her tray and took care not to flee for the exit.

Anera watched the Trill go with a sympathetic tilt of her brows. She was an odd woman, very anxious, and her aura tasted like iron and salt. Preoccupied with darkness. Poor thing. "She spends a great deal of time on her own," she mused to herself, gently wiggling her toes between Lirha's clasped knees until she could press her foot between the Orion's legs. Still damp, but improving. Anera smiled encouragingly. "All's well. We also paint, you know." She turned back to Lamar. "I mean, when we're not hedonistically indulging in orgies with absolute strangers. We paint. And we build very fast ships. Ocean-ships. And we're quite advanced in pharmaceutical invention and production."

The former Marine watched Lilou go with much confusion. What had happened to the happy and jubilant woman who he had just spent a great evening with in the holodeck a couple days ago? Despite his best attempts, he still didn't understand her very well and it was beginning to be a source of frustration for him. Letting out a sigh as he continued to eat, he glanced over at Anera. "Hmm...orgies with strangers?" Lamar's ears perked up and he smiled as he chewed. "And to think I was stuck on Earth the whole time I was growing up..." he added with a laugh.

Lirha quietly finished her salad and felt the Deltan's foot strategically find it's way back between her legs. She really didn't want to tell her to stop, but she couldn't afford to indulge herself any longer. There was much work to do and little time before she needed to be back on the bridge. Suppressing another flood of erotic waves, she placed her cutlery in her bowl then slowly pulled her seat back until Anera's foot was out of reach. "Unfortunately, I must depart as well. I am needed back on the bridge in a short while." she said to Lamar and Anera, giving the woman the most subtle of apologetic glances. She proceeded to stand from the table, then collected her bowl and placed it in the recycling receptacle, then wandered out of the mess hall and towards the turbolift. Back to her quarters to change her pants.

That left Lamar and Anera by themselves at the table.

Anera bit her lip on a happy laugh and sat back in her chair, folding her hands across her belly. "So. Tell me more about this Brotherly Love city. I had thought that was anathema on Earth."

Lamar smirked as he continued to eat, then begin to explain the most awesome city on Earth to the Deltan.
