Evelyn was in the turbolift, contemplating as it descends. She rubbed her hands as she contemplated her next step. "Evelyn stop worrying..." she muttered to herself. The lift halted and as the doors parted Evelyn stepped off the lift with her composure restored.
She walked down the corridor, feeling slightly nervous. *Come on Eve, you've been to the Doctor's before, it's just a physical...* she tried to reassure herself. She shook her head, *It's more than just a fear of the doctors.* After the brisk walk, she walked through the double doors that was the entrance of the Medical Bay.
Hiding a yawn behind her hand, Pola shook her head. She wasn't even a few hours into her shift and already she felt tired. They had been up their eyes in sickbay with treating the injuries from yesterdays engine issues, thankfully everything had been minor, a few broken bones and nothing more then 2nd degree burns from a handful of exploding concoles in engineering.
Seeing a woman walk in the doors, Pola made her way over, grateful of someone too pull her out of this stump."Hi. I'm Doctor Ni Dhuinn, can I be of any help?"
"Yes Doctor, I'm Evelyn Coleman." She greeted extending her hand out. "I'm just hear to get a physical, trying to keep my medical record up to date."
Taking the extended hand, Pola found herself smiling at the woman."Well then Evelyn, please grab a seat, I'll grab a tricorder and we'll get this medical out of the way." Indicating to a bio bed to her right, Pola released Evelyn's hand and went to grab a tricorder from her office.
Evelyn nodded and made her way to the biobed. Propping herself up, she waited patiently for the doctor. "Things progressing normally in this part of the ship?"
Walking back over to the young woman, Pola smiled across at her before unflipping her tricorder and starting a scan. "Hum...well as normal as sickbay can ever be really. Does sickbay ever really have a normality?"
Evelyn smirked, "Well, for doctors what happens in sickbay is routinely normal. Believe me, with things I've seen in my life, anything is normal."
Taking in the grey uniform, Pola smiled softly before looking back down at the tricorder in her hand. "Intelligence? I'd be inclined to say you definitely see quite abit of abnormality. Anything recently you can share?"
"Nothing has been abnormal to me for... well at least for two centuries." She said truthfully.
"So tell me abit about your medical history Evelyn while I try to figure out these readings. I will be honest, I don't have much medical experience with the El-Aurian race." Smiling at the woman, Pola diverted her attention back to the tricorder readings, fascinated by the data is was spewing out.
"A rule of thumb, in terms of appearance, treat me like any human. For internally, blood pressure, cholesterol, ect what's high for a human is typically my normal. Of course if I surpass a Klingon's normal than that's too high," chuckling she continued. "As for strength and reflexes, I typically am rated as if I'm a Klingon-Vulcan hybrid."
"Any medical issues or current concerns I should know about?" Reading through the readouts, Pola finish up each of the scans, turning to upload the results on the monitor on the biobed. Picking up a PADD, she brought up Evelyn's medical file to take a read of it herself.
Evelyn shook her head "Just that I can have a bad bedside manner when I don't get my first cup of coffee in the morning." She smirked, as she rubs her hands together casually.
Comparing the results on the monitor to Evelyn's previous medicals, Pola found herself satisfied that everything was matching up. As the woman had told her, her vitals matching up those which would apply to humans. Her BP was 108/69 and 189mg/dL. All other vitals were showing as similar."So is your caffeine intake something we need to be concerned about?" Pola smiled over at the officer.
Evelyn chuckled, "Only when I'm lacking." She mused looking at her. "Besides that indulgence, what's the prognosis doctor?"
Updating the PADD in her hand and pressing her thumb against the screen, Pola looked up and smiled at the woman. "Good news, from what I can tell and comparing to old medicals, everything looks good. I'll have to read up more on your species but everything I've done today indicates you are in tip-top shape."
Evelyn hopped off the biobed. "Thank you doctor." She smiled. "If you ever need anything, please don't hesitate to ask."
