Through Eyes Anew

It's good getting back to a routine and meeting the new recruits. Perhaps I have been in the Fleet far too long not being able to fully relax without a schedule, but I am comforted by knowing that I'll be sleeping in my own bed again back on the Galileo. The few faces that I have been introduced to are exciting. And I have to admit, Commander Kohl with his new promotion to Chief Research Officer has definitely alleviated some of the administrative responsibilities I was currently dealing with. But, to be fair, he was performing most of them as my Assistant Chief.

The only thing that I am a little anxious about is the upcoming mission. But, enrolling back in the Fleet after Janel's death, there were bound to be moments of shocking familiarity that would cause my belly to start. The NIMBUS project was something that Janel was exceptionally close to when Command thought it best to, after the Dominion War, strengthen our relationships with our allies to secure peace in the Alpha Quadrant. And what better than embarking on tactical information sharing run-throughs? Perhaps the Stace side of me is so eager to accomplish this because I wasn't able to in my previous incarnation. I remember being ferried to the first one, dress-uniform hanging loose off my frail and sagging bones from my illness. A spectator! Still, I managed to see it nonetheless just not as Janel had hoped. But now to be taking part... I'm nervous, but excited. I will just have to see what the next week holds.

End Log.
