Am I a Cougar?

A few cases I have done dealt with one of my partners dubbing persons of interests as Cougars. Of course, I had to look that up to understand the meaning. Humans, as long as I have lived among them, still have euphemisms I do not quite understand.

But ever since Ensign Xanth broke my wrist, he can't help but bump into me. He's a sweet kid, don't get me wrong. But very energetic and possibly ADHD, given his nervousness.

...I confess, I have no clue why he's taken a liking to me. But as I am much older than him, it makes me wonder if people see me as his cougar.

Then there is this Romulan woman I met. I'll have to talk to the XO about her when I come aboard. Prophets know, she's hiding something. But what? And she is as smart as I am, does she know I'm on to her?

I do know that I should probably get on good terms with one of the science folks. I'll need one to run particulate sample analysis for me in my spare time...

I hope I don't need a plastic bubble around me, if that means my best choice for a friend, will be Ensign Xanth.
