K'os: [Clears throat] Well, it's been a little while since I've recorded a personal log. The Galileo has left Earth, and we were heading to Deep Space 9 until we were diverted. We were told at the department briefing that we'll be heading to Lyshan III to help with a labour dispute. I am told that this has caused mixed feelings among the crew regarding the involvement of Cardassians. Some have reacted with suspicion, fear, and anger. I haven't identified those feelings in meditation, which leads me to believe that some may be influenced by their past memories. I wish they could do what I can do. I don't like seeing people angry or upset.

I have been asked to join the away team. The chance to contribute with my colleagues has given me great joy. An emotion I am more willing to embrace. I have been doing research on Lyshan III, environmental technology and terraforming equipment. I've been given the specifications for the mining equipment, and I think I have what I need to proceed. I have requested though, to work with other departments, specifically Science. If Engineering can better understand their theories and read their reports we can help either rule out malfunctions, or machine interaction as a possible cause. If we find out it is machine related, then we can continue problem solving together from there, but at least Engineering will have a full picture, and a clearer focus.

I am looking forward to working with the science department. I have signed up to take correspondence science classes. I was happy to see that Lieutenant Kohl had signed up for one as well, and we plan to do the course together. It will be a valuable experience. I will provide a supplemental log, later in the week.

Computer, end log.
