Personal Log: Lt j.g. Min Zhao

I'm not even sure how to begin this personal log. Two years ago I screwed up. Today I received my redemption. Well I don't know if redemption is really the right word.

Two years ago I made the mistake of sneaking off while on duty for some nooky with another officer I was involved with at the time. I should have known better given we'd been caught doing this once before. This time tho, an accident I could have prevented happened.

Thankfully nobody was killed but it was still my fault. To add insult to the mix they caught me buck naked in a cargo bay with what's his name, Jamie somebody. Geez, have I forgotten him already? We were going at it pretty good from the report security made after they hauled us off to the brig.

I made the chickenshit decision to avoid my responsibility by resigning before they could convene a trial. I wandered the Federation for two years doing odd jobs here and there for a quick buck. I did things I'm ashamed to admit to anyone, least of all my family. And no that did not include selling my body. I have certain lines I will not cross.

I guess I was also too ashamed to face my family which is why I never came home till now. Dad has this quiet disappointment about him that's worse then any ranting & raving. Makes me wonder how he's going to handle knowing his prodigal daughter got herself knocked up by a boyfriend out of wedlock.

That brings me to now. Two years after my decision to run, I decided to face the music. I can't believe I walked into that tribunal, told a bunch of Admirals I screwed up, and still walked out a free women. I'm still not sure why, maybe somebody felt sorry for me, but Starfleet gave me my old job back, kinda. They haven't assigned me a ship so I have to find one.

For now tho, I'm off to see my brother and his family. I suspect Mom will find out I'm around, if she doesn't already know, and arrange for her and Dad to show up at Yu Zhen's quite 'by accident.'
