Wow, it feels strange to say that. I can't even remember the last time I was a department chief. And it seems a shame to have been elevated once again to a position of responsibility in such a circumstance. But I suppose that's part and parcel of being in the Fleet.

I'm heartbroken that the majority of my colleagues have perished in an attack from the Borg. And as I walk the tiny corridors of this little ship, I can see the panic and dread on the faces left. And the faces yet to witness the storm first hand.

But, like with any tragedy, I have to focus on my work and see what I can do to help this crew. To help...my crew.
