BEGIN LOG]

I'm on the turbolift going to Main Engineering and doing so quickly. It seems while we were out exploring, we managed to catch the attention of a Borg Scout Ship. It is also the same vessel we believe destroyed the stardrive section of the Galaxy-class we were exploring with.

*loud noise heard in background*

And they are targeting and firing on us now. If we can not either get away or find a way to destroy the Borg ship, then there is a pretty good bet this will be my last log. If that be the case, then let my son know that I died doing what I love and that I went down bravely.

*loud noise heard in background along with a klaxon wailing*

However, I'm also too stubborn to give in and I fully expect we will devise a way to save our ship. Here we go. Oh, and if this is the last log.....Admiral Valen...kiss my ass and pay the gambling debt to my son."
