Del'an's absence is felt strongly. I know she has been gone for some time, but for some reason I am feeling her absence more acutely then I was before. Between her leaving the Galileo and Lieutenant Commander Remington's untimely death not long ago I am feeling...how do others say it? Empty?

I have met someone new on this vessel that I find to be very intriguing. His name is Jacob Pendleton. I am not sure what Del'an would think of him -- he is not like us. She told me to be careful when it comes to associating with others who are not our kind. However, I find that I like him very much.

I have been talking with Lieutenant Amril a little and have found him to be not nearly as frightening as I thought he was. Everyone seemed so on edge when he first came on board but I still do not understand completely why. I know he was with the Dominion, but that does not make him dangerous. I am going to talk to him more and find out what I can.
