Captain's Log, Stardate 69387.5
"A Priority One message was just received from Starfleet Command...transmitted several ago. The signal propagation delay from Earth to this sector of the Pleiades isn't ideal but it's the best we can manage with our current subspace relay infrastructure. A complaint I've filed numerous times with Admiral Kintara and the local Operations branch. But I digress.
"Federation scientists from several monitoring stations across the Alpha and Beta Quadrants recently detected a wave of chroniton radiation similar to the one Galileo also detected during our systems test. These scientists jointly believe that...this represents a sprawling change to our timeline. The major questions? Who, when, why and how? They're uncertain but confident enough in their findings to report substantial alterations are possibly now in play.
"I plan to debrief the ship's officer corps shortly and relay this information. They'll find it useful and be able to corroborate it with their various investigative findings they've been conducting throughout the past days. These hallucinations we've been experiencing? They might very well be remnants of something else - something temporal in nature. It's every captain's worst nightmare to have caused a timeline disruption or to alter the very essence of our past and future realities. I don't want to concede Galileo's responsible for this, not just yet, but I can't discount the notion anymore.
"The personal log cache discovered by Lieutenant Serran and Ensign Mimi is also disturbing but paints a vivid picture of what might have happened to our crew... And to the Federation. If they're matched with our recent hallucinatory visions and form a larger montage? Then it might be undeniable that we've permanently changed the nature of the galaxy. That's a weight I don't want any of us to bear.
"Computer, end log."
