A New Family, A New Beginning

Personal Log Assistant Chi.... Sorry, make that Chief Medical Officer reporting.

A lot has happened since my arrival on the Galileo. So, it is hard to know where to begin. I guess the best place to start is the beginning after all. Serving in Starfleet is something that I love doing, however, it can get trying being away from my family, and that I dare say is the beginning. The crew here has not failed to accept me and make them part of their social structure. I believe I have developed a particular friendship with our new Executive Officer Commander Warraquim. Making friends and living in close quarters of a starship reminds me of home.

Speaking of home I have reported back to Piret and all the kids about my new position here. I am the Chief Medical Officer. I now have responsibility for the health of the entire crew and I could not be happier. This is a unique opportunity and a responsibility that I do not take lightly. I look forward to all that this position will give me.

I hope that in due time I will be able to bond a bit more with Captain Tarin. She seems like being that is wise beyond her years. And yet in my conversations with her she seems reserved, not wanting to be friends with her crew. This could be of course because of the rank, I know a lot of Captains try to keep that distance. It is my goal to at the very least get her to smile and laugh. Doctor's orders.

I have a good team in Sick Bay and I feel that we can do some great medicine, not just over and out as the saying goes.

Anyway, off to make more friends and expand my family here.
