"Computer begin recording, Lieutenant Commander Luke Wyatt, Chief Security Officer's personal log entry five, stardate 73802.1

In 2053 the bombs stopped, Earth was left scolded in a nuclear cataclysm as man crawled from its shelter to a new era, an era of understanding and cooperation one was born an idea of collective interest and peace. Unification and thus bore fruit to the United Federation of Planets.

In 2392, Tricobalt devices will be detonated in an orbital bombardment to cover up Starfleet's past mistakes, all in the disguise of something called the Genesis Directive. A Barbaric and unlawful order which I am unsure I can follow.

I have been a Starfleet officer for five years, before that, I was a Marine for fifteen years serving during the dominion war and a citizen of the Federation for thirty-seven years, my whole life. To say that this is my darkest hour is an understatement.

I have on the fields of battle seen grown men cry, young men, bathed in blood holding their friends as their lives ended, peace amongst the chaos. To think when Starfleet was formed it was to be an armed peacekeeping force of the United Federation of Planets. If our forefather could see what was due to happen here in a far off sector in federation space I'm sure they would turn in their grave.

I hope this log, this mission is never discovered I hope our history is left buried in the bureaucracy of Starfleet because our history is filled with the bloodshed of the innocent we are no longer a peacekeeping force, we have become tyrants with unparalleled power corrupted by that power and the fear of discovery. Led by people who are not willing to stand up for what is right and to stand against what is wrong for this is wrong.

Starfleet has become diluted and one day it will be our own undoing.
