Captain's Log, Stardate 69001.5

Galileo is approaching the Latari system and is scheduled to arrive in twenty hours. The past three months have still been tedious for many of the crew, but at least now we have a focus and purpose. Each department has performed well but I still sense an atmosphere of fatigue. Mental and physical. Our single gym is often empty when I arrive, and holodeck usage is down by 22 percent across the past nine duty rotations.

Morale aside, our new mission is not proving any easier. We have minimal information from Starfleet HQ and our long-range sensor probes suddenly ceased transmitting after entering the system. There were no reported malfunctions yet their power cores appeared to go offline within seconds of arrival. No return logs were sent...therefore we can only speculate in the absence of data.

Communications with our task group remain routine and we've taken on several new personnel. One chief and other, older familiar kin. Their arrivals are timely, so I will take that as a sign of good fortune from the spirits.

Computer, end log
