Okay. Okay, I can totally do this. I know I can. I mean, I’ve served my tour on the Saratoga and as much as I enjoyed serving under Ross and meeting smugglers and boarding shuttles, I think it’s time to go somewhere else. I mean, I am not picky. I promise. I promise. But the thing is…

I sort of know where I want to go.

It’s silly, I know. I have been there before. Not the same physical ship because whoops, that one got blown up. Or destroyed, or rented out or whatever. But the same name matters too, right? And they could need me. Okay, maybe they totally would not need me. No one needs an undersized Security officer. But I have skills. I got good skills. I’m charming, I now know how to do boarding parties, I can identify good hiding places for smuggling goods, I’m smart, I’m able to get into small spaces and I can even fire a phaser or a phaser rifle! So I can do good on a ship. Not as a Chief or Assistant Chief. I don’t think I am ready for that yet, even if I have visited it before.

Okay. So I can totally do this.

I got the application already written up. Lieutenant Junior Grade Aria Rice, applying as a Security Officer for the USS Galileo for a 36 month long posting. Wait. 36? Months? Awesome! Okay. Totally going to do this. Because I have decided I like long tours. Not like Mom misses me when I am gone, she has her life and I got mine. I want to learn more. I have decided I like learning new skills. And spending the last two years dealing with smugglers, dodgy people and weird stuff has taught me that I want to do more. Much more.

There! Sent. Wow. Feels good to have that done. Just got to wait with patience. With paaatience. Because I am a patient sort of…oh, god, I am not. Okay. What can I do instead? Just…relax? Just do stuff? Argh! I hate waiting.

Fine. I am going out. Put on some high boots and see what these Aussies can do on the dancefloor. After all, some of us are still on leave...
