Luke stood grasping two duffel bags his and Abbey's. He was glad Abbey was on the most recent duty roster and more importantly under his command. He had accepted the position of Chief Security Officer aboard the new ship and while he didn't know what that ship was, he was pleased Abbey would be there.What he wasn't pleased about was that Abbey was late again, this did, however, give time for Luke to think over his shore leave.

It was certainly one filled with far too much excitement than necessary starting with his trip to meet Miraj's Father and Brother, her Brother in which turned out to be some low time criminal who managed to get him in the middle of a back alley firefight!
At least her Farther seemed nice.

The experience of meeting her family, however, did leave him feeling... Different, He Loved... still does Love Miraj but he can't shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe that while their relationship is beautiful just not what he wants.

Then there was his short stint at the Academy Luke wouldn't class himself as an instructor but when he was offered the opportunity to step in on behalf of one of the ill instructors he couldn't say no especially when Abbey was also going to be taking the test during the few weeks.
When it finally came around it wasn't Abbey that he found himself watching but the young Cadet who seemed not to be waivered by the loss of life opting to destroy the civilian transports and leaving as the Klingons arrived. Perhaps the idea was to be humane about the situation or maybe she just wanted to prove a point.

And finally, there was Scarlet. It's funny how she can remain so much a part of his life after being away so long and it was especially nice to see Lily, he hadn't realized it then but he missed them both dearly.

Luke was about to go further into his thoughts when a mess of bags and yellow colored fabric came flying around the corner "FATHER!" Abbey said tackling him with a giggle. He guessed his thoughts would have to wait.
