Captain Jonathan Holliday reporting.

A semester has finally come to an end at the Academy - I must say one that I am glad to see behind me, it seems that my predecessor here had all the ingenuity and tactical nouse of a Nausicaan when it came to anything other than brute force and ignorance. As a result the students I have inherited are somewhat..blunt in their application of tactical strategy, and have been found wanting in several respects.

It feels somewhat odd to be planetside again - especially somewhere like Earth, it just doesn't feel as homely as Mars, but if this is where I am required to be, then that is where I shall be.

At times like this I do miss serving aboard a starship - there is something to be said about serving with fellow officers and enlisted crew as opposed to spending my time dealing with cadets. Even though the Galileo was a science vessel, she was still a Starfleet vessel, and operated under the same rules and regulations as any other.

For now I will be spending my time reviewing upcoming lectures, tactical exercise results from the previous semester, and if I get chance, perhaps spend some time in front of a subspace transciever and check in with Admiral Saalm, after all, I do have a duty to my previous posting to ensure my replacement is up to scratch.
