How is a man to think

468 words; about a 2 minute read

"Computer begin recording" Luke said as he sat down at his chair, the new quarters were much larger than his last and as he swivelled taking in the sight he attempted to think of how to put the thoughts in his jumbled up mind into a string of sentences.

"I'm not sure at what stage it happened, or even what made it occur but damn, how is a guy supposed to think or even begin to comprehend something when she is constantly on my mind. Ever since Abbey left we have managed to keep in contact and I am... well I am proud of her. Through my connection I managed to get her a position at Camp Falkirk. An all military base where he skills would certainly be put to good use however in a way I miss her. She was only around for some time in that that short period she affected my life more than I could imagine and in a way I feel bad for sending her away, I was selfish and perhaps I should have made more of an effort to welcome her into my life.

There is also another woman that has affected my life and though I don't think a personal log is the place to explain one's love affairs which is something I never thought I'd have again but Ensign Delani has become someone I look thoroughly to bumping into the corridor or our time together I spend training her. Ever since our little away trip where we were possibly spending our last moments together I have had an increasing odd sensation towards her and I cannot quiet put my finger on it, I do hope it will pass but if it doesn’t… Would it be such a mishap? As her senior officer I should try and act professional towards the matter but as someone who has lost so much isn’t it about time I finally have some happiness in my life?

Anywho, beyond that I have started to interact with the crew a lot better, my new job role as Chief Strategic Operations officer I have found I have a lot more time to myself and well… It’s kind of nice to get around and see what other people do on their day to day shift when we’re not away fighting the Borg or fighting for our lives. And some people do indeed have some interesting jobs, even engineering which I found my tour very intriguing.

Well, Its’ almost time to go and meet Ensign Delani and help with her fighting technique and cardio, hopefully I can make it through the entire session without feeling the gravity plates have been turned off and the temperature increased to that off the sun.

Computer, end recording and log”
