Hi all,

I am sure you’ve noticed that Blake’s put out a reminder for Personal Logs! So, I won’t remind you again this week as I am sure you’ve read it and are already eagerly writing it. Unless you did one in December in which case you are exempt! Doesn’t mean we wouldn’t love to see one from you though if the creative genie has struck.

As mentioned last week, we have some mass posts in the works as the mission progresses.

Auntie Anne’s Agony Corner is having a break this week, but after much discussion we are doing a special recipe, namely Petty Officer Amul’s Fjord-saus!

Petty Officer Amul’s Fjord-saus, also known as Sandefjord Butter

Being from Risa, it is all about decadence. This recipe was passed onto me from my mother who picked it up from a lover. It’s great with seafood dishes, but also good over boiled potatoes. You’ll need 1 ½ dl cream (single/for cooking), 100gram butter (salted), 1 teaspoon lemon juice (if you want it sharper, use more), some salt and pepper, taste your way to it and parsley, which I actually tear with my hands rather than chop. I usually use flat leaf. But each to their own, I even know people who use scissors or, one unfortunate soul, phaser…..

Start by simmering the cream until you got half left. Reduce heat so it isn’t boiling, you want it hot but not bubbling. Cut up the butter into cubes and whisk them in, one at the time, until all the butter mixed in. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. Once happy, add the parsley, give a stir and pour over your protein or carb of choice.
