Weekly Update

Posted on 15 Jan 2024 @ 4:14pm by Lieutenant Aria Rice

Hello all!

Ah, January is whizzing away with us all isn’t it? And Auntie Anne is back from outer space. I wish.

Now we’re all settled in again, you’ll be happy to know that monthly personal logs are back! Posted one in December? Then you’re exempt! Of course if you wish to regale us you’re your adventures or misadventures, or just had a bit of thinking to put down on the computer, please do! We promise Tarin is not screening them.

We have some joint posts in the works as well and hopefully you’ve all been able to sink your teeth into them!

And if you’ve missed having a Chief Counselor, you’re in luck! Delainey’s here to pick your brains (not literally, you’d have to go and see a medical officer for that. Such as Katja Becker).

As we’re back from the festive period with many cultures having many celebrations, whether you celebrate or not, December and January (and February too, we haven’t forgotten you, Lunar New Year!) tends to be a time for food. Loads of it. So, there will be no recipe this week, since I am sure you are all sick to the back teeth of deliciousness to devour. Or planning the next course.

But we do have a little Dear Auntie Anne question so…

Dear Auntie Anne,

I am in a right pickle. I was cleaning the ODN chips and stacked them all wrong, and now whenever the warp core goes to warp 1, we jump to warp 5! I’m terrified of someone checking the logs and seeing that I was the last one touching them, so I removed the hormone blockers on my roommate’s pet Aurelian bunnies and released them. Engineering now has 58 babies hopping around so I am hoping that will be blamed but what do I do if I am found out? Help! Sincerely Hopping-Mad.

Oh, Hopping-Mad…where do I start? With a large glass of synthol and a hypo of knock-out juice. You’ve not created a pickle, you’ve created a market of pickles, and bunnies. My best suggestion is a transfer off the ship as soon as possible. Failing that, deny all knowledge. If you’re caught, you know where the escape pods are. I’d say May you live Long and Prosper, except if you’re found out the probability of that is zero.

All the best,
Auntie Anne

And that is it for this week!

Anne
