Weekly Update

Howdy Galileans, it's been a busy week for me so my apologies for any delays (including this update!). I've got a few important pieces of news as we move our story forward.

First and most importantly, we've completed EP06 and all remaining EP06 posts have now been moved to EP07. Congratulations to all of you on an excellent mission, it was truly a pleasure to write the episode. If you didn't make the cutoff deadline for posting your EP06 JPs, please do your best to rework them into EP07. There's plenty of transit time available for use or the scenes can take place at the starbase if you so desire. I've also unlinked all EP06 mission-specific PNPCs (the colonists/miners) and put those characters on the inactive manifest.

We're moving along at a pretty brisk pace for EP07 and because I've seen many JPs being written on future mission days, I've decided to open up more MDs for posting. MDs 01 through 38 are now available for posting as well as MDs -27 through -01. Galileo has just finished docking at SB-84 and this now gives us a total of 65 available mission days, so there should be plenty of room for all of you to begin your subplots and explore your characters.

If any of you are interested in subplots, please visit our Shore Leave Subplot Signup sheet for more details. For anyone interested in joining a subplot already listed, please PM the subplot creator for permission and they will add you to the list of participants. For anyone wanting to create a subplot, please PM Tom (Holliday) with the details of your subplot for approval, after which you will then be able to add your subplot to the list. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Character promotions are also just over the horizon. I had originally planned them to take place during transit time but because so many people are writing ahead, I have pushed back the IC promotion date to MD 06 in order to help avoid any discrepancies in already-written JPs. Those of you who are being promoted should be informed within the next 48 hours. For those players whose characters are not promoted this go around, there will be another round of promotions at the end of shore leave in late January.

Crew awards are also coming soon and will be announced at the end of the month. There will be a rather large list of them because they will include both normal awards and end-of-mission awards, so stay tuned for those shiny ribbons!

Lastly, I'd like to give a two-week notification for all Galileo Impulse submissions. The next quarterly edition of our newsletter will be published in the beginning of November, and the deadline for all content submissions is Saturday, November 1st. If any of you are interested in contributing to our newsletter with written articles, interviews, artwork, podcasts, games, etc., please PM me. I know a few of you have already expressed interest in doing a couple podcasts and I'll be sure to arrange a couple time slots over the next two weeks.
