Mission:
Episode 02 - Resupply
Location: Galileo Deck 2 Maennad Panne's Quarters
Timeline: MD 16 0650
[ON]
Jeremy set the basket on the deck just outside the door. He glanced at his chrono and frowned. He wasn't sure what time Lt. Panne left her quarters for her assigned duty shift, but the crepes he made and placed inside the basket were ina thermofoil package designed to keep the contents warm.
He saw that the bottle of wine was sitting slightly slanted, as he'd been told needed to happen. He remembered a lot of talk about "breathing" and "settling" but all of that meant nothing to him. He didn't even mean for the bottle to be open when he gave it to her.
He placed the miniPADD alongside the bottle of wine and hit the door chime before walking away. He didn't hear the door open as he stepped into the turbolift.
Lieutenant Panne,
I am leaving this as a small token of my thanks for your courtesy in sharing your musical ability. It has been a bright point in days that have otherwise been very trying. I also appreciate the conversation from yesterday and allowing me the opportunity to discuss your works with you. It was a pleasure to finally express some thoughts I had since first reading your work.
I am sorry if the idea of leaving crepes, for a French woman, seems stereotypical or insulting, but it is the only dish of French origin that I'm capable of making. I have made sausage, cheese and porcini mushrooms as a savory to be followed by a caramel apple cinnamon sweet crepe. There is a caramel sauce in a small dish that should be drizzled across the labeled sweet crepe.
The proprietor of the wine store I went to tells me this bottle is from one of the better vitners on Vega IX and a popular export. I am afraid I do not know much about wine, but I hope it meets your exacting standards.
I look forward to more of your music and hopefully more conversations as our schedules may permit.
LTjg Jeremy Stone
Chief Security/Tactical Officer
He had thought of adding a postscript, asking her to convey to Lt. Liyar that he needed to be quieter as he left her quarters early in the morning but felt that her business with the diplomat was her own and none of his. Thus far their nocturnal activities failed to rise to the level of disturbance and therefore he had no cause to complain.
