Previously, on The Destroyer (Part 3)...
Sera splayed the fingers of her right hand across the psi-points on Lamar's face. My mind to your mind, my thoughts to your thoughts... She intoned in a breathy sounding Vulkhansu, easily entering his mind. She cared nothing for his thoughts or memories, of who he was. All that mattered was the joining of their minds to further enhance the joining of their bodies.
His dark brown eyes were still tightly closed while she continued to dominate their intimate parlay, and so when she delicately placed her fingers against the side of his face, he'd had no visual warning. A sudden explosion of cerebral chaos burst into his head which forced his eyelids open and caused him to audibly gasp. The forced joining incurred an overwhelming plethora of random and intimate thoughts from both she and him which conflated to become unrecognizable from one another. It was raw sensory overload which quickly forced tears to drip from the corners of his eyes and evoked a sustained trembling from his body as a result of the intense stimulation. He couldn't see Sera anymore even with his eyes now open - all he could see was what was in her mind. "...ahHH..." he involuntarily exclaimed, not knowing how to process what was happening.
And Now, the Conclusion...
[ON]
This was nothing like being in another Vulcan's mind. Gods, what had she been thinking?! It was like being in a whirlwind of thought and...such emotion! So many, and all at once! How were humans not insane?! She wondered as she was swept away...overwhelmed...too much. It was too much. It was Lamar's fragmented thoughts.
Sera yanked her hand away from his face as she pushed herself upright, relinquishing the holds she had on his body. She had forgotten herself.
"I..." Sera did not know what to say about...all of this.
His chest now heaved and his pulse had rapidly increased which could be felt through the throbbing veins in his member embedded inside her core. Once her fingers released from his temple, he finally gasped. He'd just experienced uninhibited trepidation, bliss, precariousness and lust all within less than a minute.
Lamar blinked away the wet and cold droplets which descended across the his temple from his eyes. "...Sera," he tried to sit up but his body felt weak and he couldn't muster the energy to return to an upright position despite her physical releases on him.
She tilted her head and regarded Lamar as he quite visibly struggled. Something inside of her quailed at her ministrations upon his body. The starlight reflected in glittering refraction on the trails leading away from his eyes. He...he was crying? Humans generally cried when they were in pain, right? She leaned over him again and her shifting produced a delicious tremor of pleasure deep within her. She made a small sound as she slowly, hesitantly reached out with a finger and wiped away the cooling liquid off of the side of his face.
"I have...hurt you. That was not my intent...I humbly apologize--ahh..." Her voice broke slightly as his member twitched deep within her inducing another pleasurable sensation. Gods, how easy it would be to return to her ministrations. That she was even consciously considering such an action was rather...
"Tell me what you want, Lamar. I will do whatever you want..." She reached out with her hand as if to run her fingers across his cheek again, but stopped herself.
His breathing began to slow and he swallowed a wet lump in his throat. With every second that passed, his recently-turmoiled mind slowly cleared and focused on the present while the memories and intimate thoughts she's implanted into him remained. Lamar managed to pull them both backward about a meter before sitting up and resting his shoulder blades against the vertical bulkhead at the head of her bed. Sera remained atop him while his large hands reached behind her back to softly stroke her fair bronze skin.
"What..was that?" he whispered. "I can still remember your...thoughts? And I have memories...from you, now." He wasn't in physical or emotional pain anymore - he was instead experiencing a much deeper and complicated connection to her which seemed to transcend mere physical pleasure. A form of bonding completely unfamiliar to him. "And you have feelings for me," he then stated because he now possessed those private emotions she'd just silently shared to him.
The muscles underneath her skin involuntarily twitched as he slowly ran his hands over her back. It was...distracting. It took a moment for her to decipher his words. Oh. Questions. Now?
It was logical...just very, very undesirable. The urge to start moving her hips again was a tangible thing.
"It...was a mind meld. It was ill-advised given...things." Sera looked down to his chest, and slowly ran her index finger down his sternum. "It should dissipate...and I am not Kolinarhu. I am...capable of feelings, Lamar."
Capable of feelings? That was the absolute understatement of the century. Knowing what he did now about her private thoughts, he slowly leaned his head forward against her long torso and kissed her collarbone. His tendings slowly traversed downward across one of her pectorals and to her breast, which he teased with multiple kisses around its center before taking it into his mouth. Lamar thrusted his hips back up against her with a single pulse soon followed by several more frequent ones.
Gods! The brief connection with his mind had left echoes where the rhythm he set cadence he engaged in was just absolutely perfect, versus the jarringly stimulating tempo she had been experiencing prior. Gods...Ket-cheleb!* to have touched his mind! His pre-coital caresses, mouth-play, and physical positioning now made sense! Fascinating!
Sera easily shoved him back, and gasped as the vacuum of his mouth released her now stiff nipple with a wet pop. With Lamar's head now at a far more suitable slant, Sera moved her head in at the correct angle to engage him in a passionate kiss. She ran her hands up both sides of his neck and face, and caressed the most alluring round shell of his ear with her thumb and index finger. It was an erogenous zone on a Vulcan...she wanted to pleasure him, yes...but she also desired such gratification, and her ears were quite sensitive.
His eyes slowly closed after she forced his torso back against the wall and kissed him with deep Human intimacy she'd never before displayed to him. Lamar's hands instinctively slid up to her bare shoulders and settled on each one to pull her closer while their tongues engaged in sensual exploration of one another. The physical sensation of their warm naked bodies entwined together coupled with her memories which still remained within his head quickly turned the casual encounter into a much deeper experience. Especially when she began to manipulate his earlobes.
His pelvic thrusts continued into her and slowed to betray his own private emotions. Was he falling in love with her now? Every push against her hips produced more and more tension which needed to release. He soon squeezed his eyes tight then groaned into her mouth while he burst inside of her. His fingertips raised across her neck and up to her own uniquely pointed earlobes while his methodical breathing devolved into quick pants.
Lamar's orgasm buffeted her in an explosive wave that crashed against her right as his fingers copied her attentions on the sensitive lines of her ears. Sera broke away from the kiss as her own climax crested. Yes, yes! Her mind cried out as an inarticulate throaty cry escaped between suddenly clenched teeth, as if to somehow keep her pleasure to herself and failing spectacularly.
"...Ahh," he managed through a series of soft grunts while feeling her tunnel contract around his pulsing shaft. He leaned his forehead against her chin and moved his hands down to her waist to keep her in place while he finished. "..S'Ers-a..." he involuntarily whispered her native name which sprouted from his new and uncontrolled memories with a competent Vulcan accent.
Sera's pleasure hazed eyes sharped as she heard Lamar speak her name...but she hadn't told him her real name...She leaned away, breaking the contact between their foreheads and stared at the conn officer's face that held a distant expression, still lost in the bliss of completion.
She apparently wasn't as careful with the meld as she should have been. Fvadt. Regardless, there was nothing to be done about it now. Only distance and time would cause the tendrils between their minds to dispel completely.
"Are...are you alright?" Sera asked softly after an indeterminate period of time. She had been rather vigorous with him.
Lamar stroked one hand against her firm abdomen then rested it atop her thigh while he leaned back with exhaustion. Maybe it was the result of the thin air, or the intercourse, or the mind meld - possibly a combination of all three - but his eyes closed again and he suddenly experienced both mental and physical fatigue in a way he should've be able to push through. His sweaty chest and lower body was fully exposed which caused the room's chilly environment to rapidly evaporate the moisture on his skin and cool him beyond his comfort level. He shivered for a brief moment without Sera close to him and sharing body heat. "I'm cold," he confessed.
Sera raised a brow. Cold? She tilted her head to the side as if thinking of something quite deeply. It was cold, wasn't it? Looking about, Sera could find nothing within arm's reach to assist Lamar, and they were both atop the bedding.
She quickly slipped off her perch and padded across the chilled space to a small wardrobe set into the wall and pulled out a pair of warm blankets that were procured on Earth. The evidence of his...satisfaction again slid down her inner thighs. However, did humans conceive with their ejaculate being of such a consistency? It was an irreverent question to be certain as Sera was quite up-to-date on her required contraceptive injections.
By the time Sera had returned to his side, she too was being affected by the chill of the room, and every breath was a visible misty reminder at just how much the environmental controls had been reduced.
Quickly flicking the blanket open, Sera laid the now open fabric over his body. "Are you simply cold...or are you entering into a physical state of 'shock?' Have I injured you more significantly than first visualized? Should...should I get a medical provider?" Sera said in a subtly concerned tone, twisting her fingers in a manner that denoted uncertainty. She stood there like a colt ready to bolt at the wrong movement, wrong tone of voice, wrong anything.
The insulating fabric was very much what Lamar needed which he then proceeded to wrap around his upper torso while slowly moving to sit along the edge of the bed with his bare feet against the carpet. He glanced up at her and presented a weak smile before shaking his head. "I'm fine. Been through worse during the war," he answered before gingerly raising himself to his feet with the blanket clasped tightly around his shoulders and back. His personal confidence was slightly betrayed by the circumspect steps he took on the way to her lavatory with the intent of cleaning the lingering traces of their copulation from his groin. He reached out and took one of her lightly-scarred hands as he passed her. "C'mon, let's wash up," he offered.
That he did not require immediate medical assistance was...comforting. She felt...well responsible, surely...and yet, she had warned him. Did that absolve her of any culpability if Lamar sustained any lasting damage?
Feeling the pull from his hand in hers, Sera stopped her line of thinking, dropped the other folded blanket onto the bed, and allowed him to pull her towards the head. She was curious how this would be accomplished given the current...restrictions.
The motion-sensing lights only illuminated to 20-percent upon their entry into the small lav. Lamar discarded his blanket onto a hanging coat rack then procured a couple fresh towels which he ran under a slow stream of warm water from the faucet. He turned her nude body to face his then looked down between her legs. Messy, he quietly observed before reaching down and gently wiping her inner thighs clean until the subtle green undertones of her skin once again became visible. He folded the cloth in half then resumed his administrations and wiped her vulva with the same care and attention until she was spotless. "Good as new," he teased with a wink before leaning forward to kiss her forehead.
"Is this a human post-coital ritual?" Sera asked with a raised brow. She wasn't certain what to think of his act of cleaning her...was it to show care...or perhaps ownership? No answers were forthcoming even with the tenuous threads still active from the short-lived meld. "Should...should I reciprocate?"
It was a thought-provoking question which Lamar paused to consider. Why had he done it instead of simply giving her the washcloth to do it herself? He'd never performed such an act to any of the few previous partners he'd had. Why now, in the middle of a cold night before their probable demises, had he decided to do it? Was he really falling in love with her after only two encounters within the last 10 hours?
His dark-skinned brow slightly furrowed. "Well, no, I suppose. Not usually between Humans. I just...wanted to help." He then shook his head to himself and decided to speak the pure truth to her. "I don't know why but every time I look at you, I have-" Don't say it Lamar... "Feelings. Of the deep kind. It's not often like that for us; we don't usually fall head over heels just after a couple rounds of sex. I guess this is part of the Human version of courtship?"
"Courtship?" Sera looked at Lamar with a cross between confusion and concern. He was considering her for a mate and she...she impulsively initiated a meld with him? A twisting sensation formed in the pit of her stomach. She did not understand his meaning behind 'deep feelings' or 'head over heels.' However, given the last few days, Sera considered that the odds of further complications due to her irrational, uncharacteristic behavior since being thrust into this apocalyptic future was not in her favor.
"Lamar..." Sera's voice trailed off. She had no idea how to navigate these treacherous sands before her.
He'd heard that tonality and inflection before; the hesitation and uncertainty which under-toned his spoken name. Lamar wanted to kick himself for saying too much. He should have known better than to revive the subject matter following his brief probe at the dinner table an hour prior. But everything had changed following her mind meld with him. The memories and emotions they now inadvertently shared felt impossible to reverse, and those had forcefully deepened the previous twinges of long-term desire within him.
His dark brown eyes averted hers for a moment. "Sorry. I shouldn't have said that. I'll take care of myself," he said before wiping his own loins clean then depositing the soiled washcloths into the inactive replicator receptacle. He finally looked back up to her after a long and awkward moment of silence then gave her a forced smile. "Do you want me to return to my quarters?"
Her response to him was not what he had desired. She might be Vulcan, but she wasn't blind.
"You are similar in body temperature, Lamar...and it is quite cold on the ship. Perhaps it would be..." Insane? Foolish? "Logical to share our respective warmth?"
Regarding her closely within the dim white lights, her attractive blue eyes revealed no sign of deception or false-compassion he could detect. He retrieved his blanket from the hanging hook then stepped forward to her and wrapped it around both of their shoulders with an internal sigh of relief and new comforting thoughts of spending the night with her. "It is cold. And yeah, that would be logical," he agreed before gesturing with a half arm for her to lead the way within her own quarters.
She led him back to the sleeping platform, it's once pristine lines now mussed from their earlier activities. Extending a long, elegant hand, Sera gestured to the bed in invitation. Reaching out, she picked the blanket off the bed and pulled back the duvet. In doing the edge of the blanket he had placed on her shoulder slipped off.
Sera hadn't been to sleep since the beginning of this debacle...it simply would not come. Same in obtaining the meditative state that was necessary to her controls...well, at least she wasn't doing the same thing over again to find a different result. She was making a different rash decision here, no doubt.
Lamar followed her lead and knelt down into the mattress before slipping inside its covers and holding them open for her to join. Once again her lithe and toned naked form graced the darkness and once again he experienced an overwhelming desire for both cerebral and physical intimacy.
Sera slipped in-between the sheets and once Lamar had situated himself she scooted over so that she was spooned against the side of his body. This was a strange act to engage in...or at least something she had never experienced during her marriage to Viruk. Silently chastising herself, Sera forced any thoughts of her dead mate far from her consciousness. It took far more effort than usual to succeed in that.
Her head rested on his chest--along with a hand--and she couldn't help but focus on the exceptionally slow cadence of his heartbeat and the whooshing sound of the air moving in and out of his lungs.
His dark eyes half-closed with silent breaths of content while his body fully relaxed. He wasn't sure how long this new romance would last or what their fates would become which forced him to focus on the present - the here and now. With Sera cuddled closely against him, he could experience no greater sense of comfort in the face of the challenges they'd be soon be tested against as a crew. One of his arms reciprocated her affections and wrapped around her shoulders while the knuckles of his other hand stroked her cheek. "When we...'joined' earlier," he queried with a whisper of innocent curiosity, "there was a Vulcan word from your thoughts that I didn't understand. Ket-cheleb?"
Sera closed her eyes and made a soft sound in response to his ministrations. There was something quite agreeable about their position. With it there was a sense of intimacy that had nothing to do with the attainment of sexual gratification. It was alien, but with all of the uncertainty and turmoil in their current situation it was also...nice.
Of course he would ask a question. Raising a brow while she laid against his chest, Sera considered how to answer him.
"Ket-cheleb...He is a personification of the Inner Chorus." Sera stopped talking. This was going to be a lot to put into a context that the human male would understand.
"A...god? He is called the 'Destroyer' amongst other names. Generally he is associated with overt violence, but he can wear many faces. Destruction can be terrible, but it can also take the form of a seductive disarmament. He is the most powerful and dangerous of our dark gods, as the Vulcan mind is far too easily seduced by his call. I am apprehensive that...everything is coming undone."
His fingertips and the palm of his warm hand softly moved up and down the backside her torso with an instinctual desire to comfort her. Lamar didn't say a word for what seemed like an eternity (to him) while he closed his eyes and focused on the memories and sensations of their present communion. "...Apprehensive? Because of our time travel?" he asked with another whisper in the bedroom's darkness.
"I am uncertain...perhaps." Sera slowly replied. To not have an answer was an uncomfortable place to be in. "I cannot adequately convey...do things feel...correct here?" She made a small sound out of a sense of personal frustration. "I have failed to obtain any meaningful meditation or sleep since arrival...Are you adjusting successfully?"
There. That was vague enough and perhaps it would help to clarify her current state further if he too was struggling?
It was an existential question she'd posited to him. He knew what his gut was telling him but Humans lacked the ability to discern temporal events in the same way several other species were capable of. "I know we're in a different time period and I know this is the wrong future," he started to answer, "but that hasn't really...affected me. No different than any other mission. I just try to focus on my assignments and get through each day."
The second part of her question gave him pause for concern, and he opened his eyes and slightly raised his head before moving his other hand from her cheek to the back of her head to caress the nape of her long braided ponytail. "Are you telling me you haven't slept or meditated since we arrived? Four days ago...?"
Sera exhaled forcefully through her nose in a sense of amusement. "I believe that is what I just explained, yes. I have not been able to enter into a meditative state...and attaining sleep has also been unsuccessful. It has...allowed me to focus on the plethora of necessary engineering tasks."
Unseen to her, Lamar's eyes widened following her candid revelation. 48 hours without sleep was enough to begin inducing hallucinations within those of his species. 72 hours usually forced a variation of waking psychosis. 96 hours? Vulcans were resilient but he couldn't fathom what she was experiencing right now. No...that was a lie. He knew. The intensity of her mind meld had revealed so much about her to him. He had no frame of reference for what a Vulcan mind should resemble during such a joining, but he was well-enough aware that it had been the epitome of chaotic.
"Sera..." he whispered to her, his hand reaching down to cup her bottom and pull her hips closer against him, "you can't do that. You need to take care of yourself. We need you...I need you." He let his head rest back on the mattress then again closed his eyes. "Let's sleep now, then. I don't know how to meditate but I'll do it with you in the morning."
The thought of shutting her eyes filled her with a sense of unease. It was completely irrational, but with her inability to find clarity and control through meditation, Sera had been gripped by heart-thrumming terror the first time she attempted sleep days ago. It was so distressing she hadn't attempted it again. However, she wasn't going to argue with Lamar on this point.
"As you wish." She answered neutrally, and settled herself against him to wait until he fell asleep.
