Mission: Episode 02 - Resupply
Location: USS Galileo - Cargo Bay 2
Timeline: MD 03 - 1630

ON:

Theron was so looking forward to getting away from the ship for a while. He had already made plans to go with Ens. Cho on a little adventure. Nothing to spectacular, just some nice planetary scenery for a few hours.

Standing in Cargo Bay 2 with an inventory PADD in hand, h
Ens. Rhodes watched as container after container was moved in, checked off the list, and then secured to the deck. He knew that this was important, but really not how he wanted to spend his shift.

Looking up just in time, "HEY! Watch out!" Rhodes yelled then ran up to where containers were being stacked. "You need to check where you are going before you flop that down." Rhodes said and walked around to the intended spot.

Rhodes instructed, "One of you get over here and pick up this cleftin wrench." One of the movers did as the Ensign had instructed. Rhodes added, "If you had put that container on the wrench, it would have never secured down properly."

There were several Yes Sirs and Sorry Sirs from the group.

Ens. Rhodes walked back toward the door when he saw a Chief Warrant Officer standing in the doorway. His first impression was that of him being a gritting person and way to young to be a Chief Warrant Officer. He seemed very confident in himself just standing there. Theron did not recall him being on the ship before. It was possible that he was new personnel to the Galileo.

Cyrus stood in the doorway a couple moments, trying to see which one was the man on duty. He had a hunch that the well built man yelling about cleftin wrenches was the one he was to report to.

Rhodes stepped toward him stopping squarely a pace from him and asked, "Chief, is there something I can help you with?"

Rolling his left shoulder he strode forward. "Chief Warrant Officer Kiwosk. I'm you're new CWO. You must be Ensign Rhodes the Sec. XO." He glanced around, noticing two people completely ignoring yet another disaster waiting to happen. He pushed past Rhodes as he watched as the crate was about land on another stack. The sec officer that had picked up the wrench had moved it and set it down, on another crate, that was about to be secured.

"What did he just tell you?!" The CWO roared at the security. "If he told you to move it from the crate, do you think he meant to move...TO ANOTHER CRATE?! Put the damned thing away!" The security officer that seemed to be have asleep jumped, nodded quickly and properly secured the cleftin wrench before the crate was set down.

Making his way back to Rhodes he smiled. "Pleasure to meet you." He chuckled and extended a hand for a hand shake.

Theron only hesitated for a moment and extended his hand and gave the CWO a solid shake. He was getting better at this social contact stuff. Putting his hands on his hips the Ensign said, "It looks like you have done this before."

Cyrus shrugged. "I was a sergeant when I was a marine, it's more or less a lot of yelling about various kinds of things." Cyrus folded his arms and sighed. "What's the job? Supplies?"

Flipping the PADD down, "Yes." stroking his finger down the row inventory, "Emergency supplies, rations, hand weapon replacement parts, power cells." Looking at the former Marine, "The usual stuff for Cargo storage."

"Sounds pretty straight forward so long as the dynamic duo over there watch out for anymore Wrenches." He shook his head ans chuckled.

Rhodes continued, "The weapon supplies will be next, in the forward torpedo room." Rhodes smiled a little and raised an eye brow, "Can I interest you in helping?"

Cyrus clapped his hands together and laughed. "You had me at weapons boss."

"What do you need done?" He asked. "It seems like you pretty much have this under control... unless you need me to yell some more. I'm pretty good at that."

Rhodes smiled slightly and looked down at the PADD with the loading agenda. "Forward torpedo magazine will be loading at 1700." He looked up a the CWO, "If you will take charge of that, I can then monitor the rear magazine loading, and we will get this task done in half the time."

"Makes sense." He nodded and glanced over at the loaders. " How big is our security department anyways boss?" The loader set down the loading crate down carefully, a loud audible clack as it was secured into place.

After the load was locked down, Rhodes turned back to the Chief, "At the moment I am not sure. Our department of officers and crew should be about 15. But we will see."

He shrugged. "Just wondering. How long have you been serving on the Galileo?

Theron tried to relax. He realized that the Chief was just trying to be friendly and make small talk, but get information too. He answered, "I came aboard just before the last mission . . a few weeks."

"How have you found her?" Cyrus asked.

Theron thought for a moment, then replied, "A good crew and a confident Captain." Trying to sound encouraging for the warrant officer.

The hesitation didn't escape Cyrus, his instincts were telling him the same thing that they told him when he pressed questions about the ship. Something went down, more than they bargained for.

"Boss, sir. It doesn't take much to know that something big went down. All I had to do was look at the ship. I should have figured that it wasn't going to be easy for anyone to talk about. I'm sorry I brought it up." He was being honest, and being the new guy on the block it wouldn't do him any good if he pissed off all the wrong people.

He looked at Rhodes and nodded grimly. "I've been there." expressing he wasn't going to press the issue. Then burst out into a huge grin.

"Weeeeeell." He started. "This stuff won't just set itself, I guess I better get this party started eh? I'll see you at 1730 then."

Theron couldn't help but respond with a large grin himself and replied, "Sounds great. We can then go and report to Lt. Parker about the status."

Cyrus repressed a cringe. "Yes, the Lieutenant." Cyrus's interview had been less than ideal. While it was true that he was offered the Master at Arms appointment, Lieutenant Parker had made it quite clear that, in his opinion, Kiwosk was either too young, or unaware of the being in security. While he was sure the Head of security was a very competent officer, he had made Kiwosk wonder how much glass he would need to tread before he earned whatever Parker thought he deserved.

*****
[TORPEDO LOADING]

Cyrus reviewed the PADD, confirming the shipment that was being loaded. "Be careful with those photon torpedoes! Last thing we need is another hole in her hull!" He yelled as the workmen carried on with their duties. This were progressing at a snails pace, but they were making time. If everything turned out they would be done within the hour.

He popped open a crate that was labeled Type 3b . He couldn't resist looking at the rifles. Brand new, sets of cartridges on the side of each one. They weren't the Type 4 rifles he was used to, but they were a standard rifle, and the 3b was primarily used by the SFMC.

=^= Kiwosk to Rhodes. How are you making out on your end? I got another few loads of torpedoes, and maybe a gun shipment and we will be finished. Everything else has been accounted for. Did you know we got a shipment of 3b's? I thought you guys used 3a's. =^=

=^= Rhodes here. They have almost completed the loading the aft magazine. Ah, the 3b's. I was curious about those. I saw those on the inventory list. I am sure the Captain has something special planned for them. Have them rerouted to the Armory. They will need to be stored there. =^=

=^= Hey. I'm not complaining, Not as accurate as the type 4, but they aren't as liable to break on you...I'll take them through myself. We just finished here. I'll pop through the armory and then make my way up to the office boss. Kiwosk out. =^=

=^= Very good Chief. I will see you in a little bit. Rhodes out. =^=

--------------------

As the last crate was loaded, Kiwosk breathe a sigh of relief. He gave the rifle crate a soft pat. "Alright you beauties, let's get you in safe and sound shall we?" He double checked the area and verified that everything was secure and double secure. "Alright boys, looks like we're done here. Let's check everything, make notes and get out of here. Sounds good?" Halfhearted nods and grunts answered him, so he copied down quickly on the PADD everything that was brought in.

As he escorted the gun crate to the armor loading area with little incident. As the officer in charge of unloading them came to get them Cyrus smiled. "I trust these are in good hands."

"Not a problem, Sir." Crewman Bree replied with a sweet girlish smile. "I'll tuck them away for ya." And gave him a wink.

So Cyrus gave the crate a good smack, the hollow ring sounding throughout the room. "Well you have fun now. " He gave a two fingered salute before starting down the way to the security offices.

He was about halfway there when he bumped into Theron. "Guns are secured and the torpedoes are nice and cozy. Too bad we still have four hours of Beta left to go..." Cyrus chuckled helplessly. "Oh well, what can ya do?"

As they continued down the passageway, Rhodes replied with a sinister smile, "Well, we could always have the security teams go through closed quarter drills."
