Mission: Episode 18 - Cold Station 31
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 3 - Sickbay
Timeline: MD 16 - 1130

[ON]

Sera headed off on the next checklist on her onboarding process. Deck 3, sickbay. It was the requirement that she was least…motivated to complete. Mandatory medical evaluation. Something about it made her feel incredibly exposed…raw even.

Perhaps it was the months she spent in a Vulcan Health facility, but the thought of willingly subjecting herself to more medical prodding was—

Stop. Sera thought emphatically.

A nurse approached her after she entered sickbay and looked around with a questioning air about her. “Can I help you, Ensign?”

“Yes. I am here to submit to the required medical evaluation as a new transfer.” Sera said in a slightly more clipped tone than how she usually spoke to others. She was obviously more affected by all of this than she let on.

Sera held out the data padd and the nurse took it and motioned for her to have a seat. Sera naturally obliged and waited patiently for the medical officer to call her back.

"Back here in the office," Allyndra called out. "Please come have a seat."

Sera stood, grabbed her belongings and walked over to where the voice issued from; an office tucked away within the medical bay. She walked to the desk where the medical officer was sitting behind and held out her padd.

Sera saw the three round pips on the collar of the female sitting at the desk. "Commander. Ensign Sera, engineering. Reporting as ordered. On the padd you will find my comprehensive medical records."

"Allyndra. I don't bother with all that rank stuff when here in sickbay unless absolutely needed." She took the Padd and set it down. "Please take a seat. It is my policy to try to get to know new people coming on board. I will be serving with them and they might become my patients. This is not mandatory, so you can say no. Anyway, I'm Allyndra illm Warraquim. The later is not a surname, but my House or Guild name though most tend to use it as a surname. I'm Akkadian and most likely you might not have ever heard of us. I could count on the fingers of one hand the number of us off-world. We are not a member of the Federation, but allied with it currently. In my off time one of my hobbies is water dancing." She stood for a moment and partially opened the long four translucent wings on her back before taking her seat once more. "It is a art form in which I use my wings such that I hover above the water until my feet barely touch and then dance and sing. I also enjoy holodeck adventures when there are others that are interested. And you?"

Sera blinked. It was so much personal information Sera almost felt scandalized - however, that was always the risk that she would use her own social mores to judge the appropriateness of a situation. It was a work in progress, and apparently the method used was the CMO's way of obtaining information from her patients.

"I..." She sighed. Very well. Reciprocation was an expectation of this exchange.

"My name is S’Ers-a, ch’T’Pel, Kelek t’LyrZor, Maa t’Lyr’Zor. I am the first daughter of the matriarch T'Rel of the Noble clan Lyr'Zor. I am Vulcan, although that is most likely quite obvious. I come to serve as an engineer aboard this duty station. I find the study and practical application of unarmed and armed combat techniques to be physically and mentally stimulating. However, I was also required to learn a number of Vulcan musical instruments and performance arts as was befitting a female of my station. I do not have much practical experience with the holodecks other than the maintenance and repair of them."

"Has my reciprocation proven adequate, Doctor?"

Allydnra kept from chuckling, but she couldn't help but think *typical Vulcan*. "Yes, as I said, it's not a requirement. You and T'Lin should get together. Anyway, I won't delay you any further, shall we go get your scans done." She stood and indicated the small sickbay. "Any of the two closest biobeds please."

Sera complied and chose the biobed closest to her. It wasn't due to any particular preference, it was simply efficient. She hopped up and regarded Warraquim, awaiting further instruction.

She had received quite a thorough evaluation on Vulcan, and all of the data obtained from that was with the padd she had given the doctor, but she had also accepted that there were protocols that needed to followed.

It was not logical; it simply was.

Allyndra took the baseline scan. She was curious about some of what she saw, but obviously, the Vulcan would not be very forthcoming and simply refer to the medical record. She would familiarize herself later. "All done, your free to go."

Sera's brows rose slightly in befuddlement. No medical exam she had experienced had ever concluded in such a manner.

"...Very well." Sera answered. She hopped off the bio-bed, picked up her seabag, and dipped her chin once in a Vulcan version of a leave taking before turning and exiting sick bay.
