At the docking door, M'rythr squeezed his wide shoulders through, and boarded the old Oberth class. It wasn't quite what the caitian security officer was expecting, but he'd adapt. It was farily clean. He couldn't smell anything strange like klingon, or vulcan . He found the QM, who sent him to his quarters, whiskers twitching, and stowed his gear, and then decided to try and find the CSO for check in.

He was half way along the port corridor on deck 2 when he smelt it. It was delicate. Fresh. And unmistakeably female. There was a female, a caitian female, on board. He smiled. It had been a while since he'd seen one of his own species. It would be good to talk to them.

He sniffed, and turned, following his whiskers down to the mess. The doors opened and he saw her. Not caitian, but definitely felinoid. A bit scrawny, a bit smooth. But interesting.

At one of the tables eating her lunch sat Mimi happily nattering away with one of the crewmen from her department, she was just about to take a bite of her sandwhich when she stopped, her ears and nose twitching as something hit her. A scent threatening to overpower the scent of all the people and food in the room, a scent she'd smelled only a couple of times before, the scent of a male Caitian.

She looked back towards the entrance and saw the source, a huge dark furred Caitian in a mustard-trimmed starfleet uniform.

M'yrthyr say the ears prick up, the head lift, and then he made locked eyes with big green eyes, the slit pupils opening wide. He smiled. There was something of the tiger in it.

He moved towards her. There was something of a swagger in it as he prowled around the tables and other objects, pausing only to collect a drink from the replicator before sitting down at her table. "Hey, do you mind if it sit?" he checked with the others sharing the table, before settleing his gaze on Mimi for her answer.

"No, go ahead." Mimi replied after glancing at the person across from her, the Caitians scent was stronger now, even more overpowering.

"Thanks." He took some of his drink. "Its been a long time since I ran into some one like me. But its probably going to stay that way. You're not Caitian though, are you?"

"Not quite." Mimi said, she wasn't surprised by the question, a lot of the people she'd met asked it. "I am a Nekomi, a bit less cat than a Caitian."

"I can see. Though you've got a lovely set of ears." he gave her a particularly toothy grin showing every white gleaming point from incisors to carnassials.

Mimi took a bite of her sandwhich then chuckled slightly, "Thank you, my mother always said they were my best part."

His eyes ran over her. "Not to disrespect your mother, but I think she was wrong."

Mimi was a little unsure how to respond. "What do you think?" she eventually asked.

His eyes swept over her with great appreciation. "I'd say it was your eyes. The most glorious green."

"I always thought my sisters eyes were....cuter than mine." Mimi said, something was strange about this Caitian, the others she had met weren't as nice as he seemed to be.

"Cute?" the caitian snorted. It made his long whiskers flick. "Eyes are never cute. They are..." his voice dropped in pitch, becoming deeper, "soulful, alluring, beguiling..."

"What does bequilling mean?" Mimi asked, it was not a word she was familiar with.

"Charming." The larger cat replied. "Enchanting."

"You find my eyes enchanting?" Mimi asked, she smiled at M'rythr, it was nice to be complimented.

"Like something out of legend." M'rythr had no issues laying it on with a trowel.

"I never thought I would ever be compared to something out of a legend." Mimi chuckled slightly.

"I'm amazed no one has done it already," There was a rumbling purr behind his amused tone.

"Someone has now." Mimi said after finishing the last of her sandwhich. "I have to go now, thank you for the chat Petty officer." She stood up and went to take her plate to the recycler.

He stood when she did, and caught her hand as she reached for her plate. he brushed his lips against her knuckles, and Mimi caught a whiff of something musky and rich and earthy, like peat.

"Is that how Caitian men say goodbye to Caitian women?" Mimi asked, she was rather surprised by what M'rythr did and by the different scent that hung in the air.

"Only the ones we'd like to know better," he purred. "I hope you would like to know M'rythr better?"

"Perhaps." Mimi said after M'rythr let go of her hand. "Good day M'rythr." the Caitian name rolling off her tongue with much more ease than a complicated human name, she turned and walked away to recycle her plate.

"Wait!" he called out. "Does M'rythr not get your name, pretty lady?"

"My name is Mimi." She said as she walked past him and out the door.
