The morning after

Timeline: MD 20 the day after all the single ladies

Groggily Mimi woke up, she lay in the middle of her bed still wearing the green dress she wore at the get together last night with Abbey, Tuula, Nesh and Miraj, she didn't know how she'd got back to her room but somehow she had. Hearing a noise from outside the bedroom she sat up instantly regretting it when her head started pounding.

After a few attempts she managed to get to her feet and unsteadily headed for the door her tail lagging behind a little was not helping her balance.

Leaving the bedroom she was surprised to see Abbey there, she remembered Abbey was at the beach but was not sure why she was here with her now. "Abbey why are you in my room?"

Abbey blushed, she was half naked with just a long shirt and pants on as Mimi entered the room “Morning to you too” she said trying to to pass of as cool but her blush gave her alway. She didn’t want to put last nights kiss behind them but she couldn’t help how she felt like she used Mimi's intoxicated state against her.

"What happened last night." Mimi asked "I remember playing have I never..... never ever have I.... a game. But after that nothing."

Abbey would have lied if she had any sense of honor left but instead she unloaded her emotions onto Mimi “We kissed." She said out loud for the first time. "It was my fault I should have never taken advantage of you and I’m sorry! I’m sorry I brought you home and I’m sorry for kissing you!” Abbey hadn't meant to cross the room to be so close to Mimi but after last night she felt connected to the woman even more than before.

"You kissed me, when?" Mimi asked, her brain hadn't quite caught up with what else Abbey had said.

"I was putting you to bed and we um... well we kissed and I promise that was it!" She said panicking now. "I like you, Mimi, I really do and I hated taking advantage of you."

"I do not know what to say Abbey." Mimi said as she wobbled over to the replicator and ordered some tea.

She watched Mimi, embarrassed. "Like anything would be great. You're mad, angry, upset? Hell, I'd even be happy if you said you hated me you're so... naive" She sat down on the bed angrily. "I just admitted to kissing you and having feelings for you and you're having a tea... do you know how hard this is for me? I was raised to hate all non-human's and here I am falling in love with a Caitian." She clasped her hand over her mouth the entire apartment feeling small.

"You are in love with me??" Mimi asked her brain finally catching up. It was certainly a surprise for her, Abbey had been very friendly with her but she hadn't thought anything like this would happen.

"I... Yes? I don't know! Ok? I've liked you since... you kicked my ass on the bridge but by god you're so innocent and naive its like dealing with a kindergarten." Abbey moved closer to Mimi from across the apartment.

"I am.... new to romance. Apart from with my own species." Mimi countered.

Abbey threw up her arm and closed the final few meters between them before cupping Mimi's chin in her hand's hand kissing her feverously on the lips. She lingered before releasing and said "There romantic..." Her breath was fast and hard as she tried to contain herself, this was make it or break it between them.

"What are you...." Mimi started to say before her lips became occupied by Abbey's, they were soft, warm and strong. When Abbey broke the kiss Mimi stood there stunned to silence.

Abbey stood back panting hard and faced flushed with a rosey pink “I can’t beleive I just did that... again” her hands fell to her side as she sighed angrily. “Mimi... I like you, a lot and I’ve felt like this ever since we returned from this stupid mission”

"Is that why you have been so....friendly with me since then?" Mimi asked still a little dumbfounded from the unexpected kiss.

“I guess” she shrugged, “Don’t get me wrong this is as weird for me as it is for you! I didn’t even know I liked woman.... or non-human aliens so you know say something” Abbey asked.

"Abbey.." Mimi started then took a quick sip of her tea to help the dry mouth she had. "You are nice and I think of you as a friend but the feelings you have for me, I can not say I also have for you."

She sighed her arms dropping to her side "I know you don't, I figured maybe if I told you... Spent time with you that you might give me a chance." Abbey turned folding her arms "I'm sorry, this is really embarrassing."

Mimi stood and gave Abbey a hug. "I hope this will not ruin our friendship Abbey."

Abbey giggled from the warm embrace of mimi. "No, ofcourse not maybe a little awkward at first but maybe this is a good thing right? I hope so anyway" She hugged back lingering perhaps longer than necessary than she should have.

Eventually Mimi released Abbey. "Now then, what is for breakfast." She said with a smile.

Abbey pretended to be insulted "So first you reject me and then you want breakfast? You are a cruel person Mimi" She teased before walking barefoot into the dining and kitchen area of the apartment. "Dippy eggs?" She called through.

"Dippy eggs?" Mimi said back, "How do you mean dippy?"

Abbey looked at Mimi in mock shock. "You don't know what dippy eggs are!? Oh, my Mimi you truly haven't lived." Pausing to collect her thoughts and how she explained it she filled a pot with water and placed it on a Hob. "Basically you part boil an egg so that the white is hard and the yolk the yellow stuff is stil runny and you dip toast into it thus 'dippy' eggs."

"I have never had eggs like that, how long will they take?" Mimi asked.

She shrugged watching the pot beginning to hear up, steam brushing up her exposed cheeks flushing them a bright pink. "About ten-fifteen minutes? Why have somewhere to be?" She teased.

Mimi quickly drank the remainder of her tea, "I think I should go have a shower."

Abbey didn't turn around as she continued to watch the water begin to boil. She herself could do with a shower and then the thought of seeing Mimi naked... It was lucky she was faced away, even still she couldn't help but joke "Room for one more?"

"Room for one.....Abbey!" Mimi said. "I hope you are joking."

She chuckeled "Maybe, but I won't tell you if it wasn't anyway. You better hurry or your breakfast will be cold by the time you come out and well I don't know if I could stop myself from going to get you." She turned around at that her falling around her shoulders and she smiled. She wasn't going to get over her crush just yet and while she had Mimi alone she was going to have a little fun even if it wasn't returned.

Getting up from her chair Mimi headed towards the bathroom. "I will not be long." walking inside and shutting the door she slipped off her dress and underwear and stepped into the sonic shower. "Activate sonic shower." The shower beeped and soon Mimi started to feel the waves dissolving all the dirt on her body.

Abbey busied herself cooking breakfast for her and Mimi, as the sonic shower activated she looked over her shoulder in the general direction. Oh how she’d love to step into the shower with her. She felt her face flush a warm red at the same time the eggs started to boil over.

After the quick shower Mimi left the bathroom and walked into the dining room, making sure her dressing gown was tied together she sat down. "Nearly done?"

Abbey turned and nodded trying not to blush to much when she saw how little Mimi was wearing. "Im almost finished, have you got some plates and egg holders?" She shook her head "Probably not, do you mind replicating some?"

"Ok." Mimi walked over to the replicator and inputted the instructions and soon 2 plates and egg holders materialised. "These are very unusual." Mimi said as she bought them back over. "They look like a very small cup."

Abbey chuckled, nodding her head in agreement "That's why they're called egg cups. Pass them to me the eggs are ready." She said holding out both her hands ready to receieve them.

"Here." Mimi passed them over then returned to the replicator to fetch another mug of tea before sitting back down.

Taking them from her Abbey turned and used a slotted spoon placing a Large egg in each, with the same spoon she cracked the top and with a knife cut about one eighth exposing the runny yolk within. Taking the cut slices of buttered toast she spread them round the cup on the plate, picked them up and walked over to the table. "Bon apetite."

Mimi took the plate. "Interesting." She said. "So we just dip the toast in then eat it?"

Abbey nodded "Yeah, just dunk and eat." She replied simply carrying out the motion herself. On her first bite she let out a light moan "Beautiful, just beautiful."

Picking up some of the toast Mimi dipped it in the egg yolk, she'd had the component parts of the meal but never together like this, It reminded her of when her foster mother would give her little bits of different foods to find out what she liked. "Not bad." She said after taking a bite. "This does not look like a very big meal, not much to it."

Abbey finished what she had in her mouth before answering. "Big meal? It's only breakfast, what do you usually eat for breakfast?" She asked taking another bite.

"I use up energy quicker than humans so I have to eat or sleep more." Mimi dipped some more toast as she spoke. "So I like to have a big breakfast."

“Ofcourse you do, sorry I should have cooked a full English! You’d like that a lot of you love big breakfast! Maybe we can get an early lunch before going to explore?” Abbey asked curiously.

"Do not worry, I will be fine." Mimi replied as she sipped her tea, "I am not sure I fancy exploring just yet, I still feel a little strange."

Abbey nodded disappointed, "Well. I need to get ready myself and have a shower anyway. I think I'll go for a walk, maybe when I get back you'll feel better?" She asked finishing her breakfast.

"Maybe." Mimi said, considering this was her first ever hangover she wasn't doing too bad.

She tried not to look to upset as she waved goodbye and left through the front door, it was probabaly just as well. She had a banging headache and needed some more sleep or fresh air, perhaps another drink she thought to herself.

"Goodbye Abbey." Mimi said as she watched Abbey leave.
