Mission: Episode 13 - Rogue
Location: Kreanus - Paulson Nebula
Timeline: MD 06 - 1400-2000 hours

Luke leaned up against the wall of the corridor, his ragged hood over his head hiding his face from the few passers by not that anyone would. Price him, even more so with his makeshift scars. He had done his recon and had seen a handful of the Galileo crew but none of the command staff, he had also heard rumours of their capture from some of the colonist but that was just mostly hearsay. What he didn't like was that there was an armada sized fleet stationed in orbit of the planet. He had been waiting for just over an hour when a familiar sight moved down the street.

Amaranai had been wandering the hallways attempting to keep her head down and her eyes and ears open. Based on what they had initially seen, they knew that they could wander within reason. Her mission, as discussed with Luke, was to recon anywhere she could get in order to gain knowledge of their situation. She had found an old, tattered robe with a hood which allowed her to keep her face partially hidden.

In talking to a few different people, she learned about the colony they were stranded on and had seen a few of the Galileo crew. She only saw a small number of the crew but at least they were alive. She saw the time and started slowly making her way to the arranged meeting location. Amaranai saw Luke leaning against a wall. She moved closer to him.

"This place is crazy," she said. "I saw some of the crew. One level up."

He nodded looking over her shoulder watching for any followers, there was none. "Me to, at least a dozen but I couldn't see any of the command staff. I've never seen such a large colabiration of different species; Klingon, cardasian, romulan and there is even some federation here. It's kind of amazing" he pushed of the wall "hungry? I managed to trade some of the stolen items for what I think is chicken stew"

Amaranai nodded. "I didn't see any of the command staff, either," she added.

It was curious how they hadn't see the command staff, but it also made her wonder if any of the command staff had survived. She listened to Luke as he talked about the different species that were visible.

"I noticed that too," she offered. "It makes me wonder if all of them were trapped here like the Galileo was and simply fought it out to see who would be in charge."

The offering for actual food was welcome and she took the offered cup.

"Thanks," she said as she took a sip.

It wasn't that tasty but it was something.

"So," she said after a few bites. "What's our next move?"

He shrugged "I'm not sure there's much we can really do, the only way off this planet is via the armada they have in orbit and even then you'd need the calibrated sensors of those ships to navigate the nebula safely, i have heard of jobs going on the ships. They seem undermanned, they're like pirates" he stated. "Recruiting renegades of the own and their enemy nations trying to make money any what they can"

"I don't think we have time to join a pirate crew, earn their trust, betray them, take their ship and use it to free our own crew," she said. "As it is, the longer we're wandering around, the more chance there is of us being caught someplace we shouldn't be."

"I quite enjoy the idea of joining a pirate crew and gallavanting around the galaxy" he teased before returning to serious mode "Come on; I've arranged a bed for the night and a meal in the morning, I'm getting good at borrowing things" he admitted.

Amaranai grinned at his comment.

"You do seem the pirate type," she smiled.

She followed him to where he had arranged lodging for the night. She was impressed with his ability to keep them safe and fed, even if it was only temporary. Amaranai looked at the sparse room with a bedroll on the floor.

"Cozy," she said.

She sat down on the bedroll and stretched her leg out. She felt numbness in her leg now, but didn't think that she would lose it, regardless of the lack of medical supplies they had access to. There was a chance they could find a doctor, but without more knowledge of the colony that they were hiding in, Amaranai didn't know what to do. She looked at Luke.

"Okay," she started. "Step one, we rest. Step two, we eat. Step three, we figure out how to spring the crew from prison and at the same time, find the admiral or anyone from the command staff." She paused. "After that, we need to find whomever made that stew and kill them because it was not very good at all."

A smile graced her face.

"Yes ma'am" he teased, "it's nice to see you smile" he added before taking the spot next to her "you rest first, you need to allow your leg to heal if we're going to be freeing anyone"

If the situation had been different, Luke's comment about seeing her smile would have made her feel self-concious. Instead, she smiled again and nodded at his suggestion of rest.

"Don't let me sleep more than four hours," she said. "You need just as much rest as I do." She paused. "You've been doing a lot lately. I'm going to need you just as healthy to pull this off."

She lay down and closed her eyes but she wasn't able to sleep. Eventually, her body rested, though when she woke, her body ached from the poor sleeping conditions. She had to dismiss it, though, as at least they could sleep.

"Okay, commander," Amaranai said to Luke. "You're turn for a nap."

Wanting to brush away the order Luke eyed the bed hungrily "I guess a couple of minutes cant hurt" He said before shuffling over to the bed and laying down, it wasn't long before he fell asleep snoring.

She sat up and took a deep breath. She thought about everything that they had discovered in their short recon missions. Regardless of anything, they would need a ship to leave. It made her think about securing a ride first, but that wouldn't do them any good if they couldn't rescue the crew.

Luke awoke with a shudder, his skin burnt, head pounded like a beating drum and his eyes were sore and damp. "Amaranai" He said through gritted teeth his voice raspy. "I don't think I'm doing too well" He pointed to his shoulder where he had been hiding a festering wound. "I should have told you sooner"

Amaranai was surprised when the commander woke up but calmed down quickly. He didn't look good and when he showed her his wound, she could tell that he wasn't good. She wasn't a medic but she had enough first aid skills to know that the wound needed tending.

Looking around the small room they were in, Amaranai determined there was nothing there of any use.

"I'm going to have to go find help," she started. "Or at least medicine."

She paused.

"I know there's a makeshift clinic here," she said.

Amaranai reached for her bag and pulled out a hypospray and handed it to Luke.

"It's the last of our supply," she said. "But I think you'll need it more than me at this point."

She stood up gingerly and moved toward the door.

"I'll be back as soon as I can."

Luke cradled the hypospray before pressing it into his arm, the motion making him feel nauseous. "If it - becomes between finding help for me." He paused "And you being captured or found out don't come back here and promise you'll find your way off this rock" He held her gaze into a steely look.

The two stared at each other as she pondered his statement. Yes, he was her commanding officer at the moment and she knew that it was an unspoken order, but she was also the kind of person that wouldn't leave him there.

She nodded, but didn't say anything. There was no sense in arguing because she understood the overall mission and that the crew of the Galileo was more important than one person.

As she exited the small room, she thought for a moment about the crew of the Galileo that they knew were alive. She would need one of the doctors to help Luke and herself for that matter, but who? Amaranai recalled seeing the Chief Medical Officer, and knew she would be the best option. It was just a matter of trying to find her.

It took a couple of hours of wandering and asking a couple of people before she found the clinic. She peeked inside and saw a few Klingon gaurds but also saw Allyndra. Amaranai decided she wasn't going to enter because she didn't want the guards to realize that she wasn't a prisoner and capture her. Instead, she waited outside of the clinic in hopes of catching the doctor alone. Amaranai waited for a while against a building across from the clinic and when she finally saw the doctor, she caught her attention.

"Doctor," she said quietly. "I could use some help."

Amaranai wasn't going to announce herself until the doctor was closer but she needed Allyndra to come to her.

Allyndra was finishing up and was going to head off to a different project. She wanted to learn about this place as well as depend on the eyes and ears of the crew. As she headed out she had some one call for help and slowed and turned. She raised an eyebrow, and then glanced at the guards. "Of courese," she said maintaining composure.

When Allyndra moved closer, Amaranai noticed that the guards kept watch, but didn't follow her closely. Amaranai moved the cloth slightly from around her face to allow Allyndra the opportunity to recognize her. Having completed her intial medical exam recently, she knew the doctor would remember her.

"Lieutenant Franklin right? Why the disguise?" Allyndra asked. She could not remember everyone who made it or not and lists were still being compiled. "So glad you made it."

"Doctor, Commander Wyatt and I were not captured. We are working to rescue you." She paused to subtly glance at the guards. "But he's sick and needs help."

She didn't even mention her own injury as Luke was the mission at the moment.

"If you can't come with me, can you at least give me something? He has an injury that looks like it's infected."

Allyndra almost took a misstep at that. Her mind whirled, not captured then how had they gotten here? was there a ship? communicaitons? how many others? She wanted to ask so much but there was not sufficient privacy and the Command here she was sure was watching her. "I wish I could, I have so many patients." She said that out loud but gave a brief nod of the head toward her watchers. "Tell you what I can give a broad spectrum for you to try and see how that goes. Say..." Allyndra smiled. "Where you not interested in some of the Akkadian beliefs? Perhaps tommorrow I can show you in the chapel. There is a section for non-Kreanus beliefs. It is not much but better than nothing." Allyndra figured the little side chapel was probably as neglected with watching equipment as it was with its furnishments."

Amaranai listened as the commander spoke. She understood she couldn't say much because of the guards behind her. But there was one thing she said that Amaranai understood. Allyndra wanted her to meet her at the place of worship. Amaranai had heard they had one here - what didn't they have here? - and even knew where it was.

"Thank you, doctor," Amaranai said. "And I had been missing something in my life. Perhaps the Akkadian beliefs will help fulfill it."

"One can certainly explore. I will see you there this time tomorrow. Let me know how the medication works." She glanced back one more time. The two where starting to make their way toward them. "Now off you go little sister."

Amaranai nodded and slowly stood up and made her way away from the clinic and back into the fold of others. She made sure to take a different path before heading back to the commander. After a while, she found their hovel again and stepped inside.

"Commander," she said as she entered.

Luke smiled as Armarani returned "Good day Lieutenant" He offered, looking better but only just so. "Did you have any luck?"

"Yes, I found Commander Warraquim. She was able to get me this."

She handed the medication to him.

Luke took the medication and began applying it, not looking at her "You took a great risk tracking her down. Was she ok, whats the plan?" He asked finishing the treatment and looking up.

"I'm going to meet with Commander Warraquim tomorrow at the chapel. We might be able to talk more then."

He nodded, "Be careful Armarnai. We've evaded capture this long, if it comes to it and the choice is between me and you." Luke smiled and patted the small bit of bedding they had inviting her to sit down. "You leave me, get the shuttle and leave. Run until you find help"

She nodded at his statement.

"I understand, sir," she said. "Let me find out what I can from the doctor. She might have a better idea of what we could be doing to help the others."

Luke smiled, his eyes falling heavy "Thankyou, Armarani I appreciate everything you've done for me." He said before the medication took over him and he fell into a slumber.
