Previously, on Ahoy! (Part 2)...

Miraj pulled Luke sharply to one side. "Duck!" an twelve inch wide pole of solid oak came whistling towards them as the sails were angled to catch the wind.

Not heading the warning soon enough Luke had to ungracefully dive out the way leaving him sprawled out across the floor groaning. "This era of war sucks" He said before adding, "And this isn't a ship... its a death trap!"

And Now, the Conclusion...

[ON]

She sidestepped a rope line snapping taught to hold the sail in place without even really noticing it, and ducked under it. "Only for adlepated landlubbers with no sea legs."

Another cannon ripped across the main deck, thirty feet ahead, they dived behind the hatch housing for cover. before they could even get their feet, Staines was screaming "Fire!"

Dozens of cannons went off at once, the roar more than deafening. Smoke filled the air , like a fog, and made it near impossible to see. The cannons shot back int heir recoil ropes and nearly ploughed Luke down again. Miraj was on her feet, arms full of powder, to top up the baskets along the deck. All around could be heard the shouts of:"Swab! Worm! Powder! Wad!" as the crews reloaded.

"Hurry up!" she shouted to him. "we've only got another minute of two. If you want to be in the thick of it, they'll probably try and board at the waist."

Luke followed closely behind her ducking and side stepping bits of debris and the odd cannon ball "This is insane" He said but doubt she could hear him over the roar of battle. As they reached the middle of the ship an explosion rocked him into the back of Miraj "Oomph"

She staggered and tripped, Luke crashing down on top of her. Sabatini strode past, cutlass drawn, on his way to the ships waist. "Get up, Roger! Plenty of time to get someone to worm your muzzle once the royal navy stop trying to kill us."

Miraj blushed then looked over her shoulder to grin at Luke. "Are you okay?" She wriggled underneath him, indicating she wanted him to get off her. "This is insane isn't i? Can you imagine what this would have been like to do for real?"

He shook his head as he peeled himself of her, he hadn't felt adrenaline like this from a holodeck program since... well never "I can't imagine it and I don't think I want to." Luke admitted before following her again along the deck the smell of cordite the product from burning gunpowder assaulted his nostrils as smoke burnt his eyes.

The Hades cannons roared, sending their loads of cannon ball and grapeshot spraying over the gap to the navy ship barely ten yards away. The double payloads chewed up ship and crew both, ripping at the larger ship's sails and rigging and blowing clouds of iron and splinters over the crew. A moment later the huge hull ground up against the pirate ship, and with an ominous creak, the foremast of the bigger ship, pierced by two balls at once, shuddered and gave way, crashing down towards them.

Seeing the danger Luke barged Miraj out of the way and into some sacks of flour which for some reason had been left top side. He just managed to dive out the way before being crushed himself. The dust settled and Luke examined his body as smears of blood and gunpowder peppered his clothes. "Are you ok?" He shouted his path now blocked.

She gave him a thumbs up, and then had to duck back as a pistol shot pinged on the edge of the main deck hatch. From the starboard rail, men in the white and blue of His Majesty's navy were swinging across on ropes, throwing down gangplanks and hooking on grapples to hold the two craft together.

Miraj scrambled up, and away from the invading forces. "Don't get killed!" she shouted over to him. "I reckon all we have to do is hold off the attack for a little bit and then-." Her eyes went wide. "Behind you!"

One of the more daring tars had leapt from the prow of the Indefatigable, pistol drawn and cutlass out. He pointed the pistol at Luke's chest, and fired!

Luke would have had a hole in his chest if the crude weapon hadn't failed to fire. He opened his eyes to see a baffle sailor looking down the sight confused. Paralysed by fear Luke just starred in owe "Holy shit" He murmured right before the man threw his side arm and charged which his sword. Luke picked up the first thing he could which just so happened to be a mop and parried the attack. "For crying out loud" he said looking at his weapon of choice. "MIRAJ!"

She shrugged and grinned guiltily. "Sorry!" she tugged a belaying pin free from some lose shrouds, and tossed the the foot long piece of oak across the deck. "Catch!"

Luke locked onto the oak and went for the catch, he willed his fingers to stretch further and further as if by some miracle he would be able to grab it.

The tar was aiming for his outstretched arm, meaning to take Luke's hand off at the wrist.

Fortunately for Luke, Miraj was a rubbish throw and as he reached further to grab the weapon he fell and stumble narrowly avoiding his hand being chopped off. That was close He thought to himself rolling back onto his feet with the weapon in hand though it was probably only slightly better than the broom handle. As he turned Luke caught a glimpse of a metallic surface inch closer to his face with now room to twist or turn he charged but before he could meet his death head on a cannon ball ripped through his attacker leaving just his shoes, hat and sword.

The deck was chaos and carnage as the pirates worked to press back the royal navy. There was no co-ordination, just an endless knot of personal melees. Everything was weapons. Tackle blocks, unfired cannon balls, cutlasses, sabers, rapiers. The sea of white and blue was being slowly pushed back towards their ship, helped by the fact that the Hades was still happy to fire cannonballs into the attacking ship that was far more reticent to fire on its own men.

Miraj was mostly staying out of the way. When one navy man manged to get out of the press and lunge for her, she managed to dodge not once by twice. She stopped to give Luke a thumbs up, to show she'd been learning, and he nearly split her innards onto he deck, her white shirt caught in the point of the cutlass, and he ripped it open from hem to neck.

Luke parried the blow and cut his foe's stomach in half before swinging around onto Miraj's assailant. The navy officer wasn't expecting the cutlass from behind and Luke's style of fighting was more practised than the other pirates, he watched as his sword went into his back and out the other side. Pushing the body off his sword he stood brandishing a smile "Are you OK, my lady?" He joked holding out his hand for her to step over the body.

She beamed at him, and stepped over the body, using her other hand to hold her sliced shirt closed. "You were awesome." She reached up and kissed him on the cheek

Luke's face would have turned red if it wasn't already from the heat of the exploding gun powder and fighting he had enjoyed in the last five or ten minutes. "Well that's good to hear" He added with a smile.

"We're winning too!" There couldn't be much more game left to play, thank goodness. She tried to pull her shirt around her, realised she wasn't going to fasten it, and tied the ends into a knot under her breasts. It would have to do.

"Cute" He teased pointing at her improvised fasten, he didnt have any more time to say anything as men began running from the other ship shouting something about a magazine. "What the...?" Luke managed.

Miraj looked over. "They're on fire!" Many of the pirates around them were realizing the same. And there was a sudden, unpsoken agreement to cut themselves loose from the dying warship. Miraj grabbed the nearest thing with an edge, a fallen cutlass, and dashed to the rail next to where the Indefatigable's mast lay across their deck "Cut the lines!".

Luke followed suit and picked up a fallen sword, he ran along the hulk dipping and diving as he slashed away at the fibre rope, with each one cut the opposite boat jerked and groaned as the smell of smoke began assaulting his nostrils and billowing out from the cannon holes.

Others joined them, slashing desperately at the ropes binding them to the doomed vessel. the last came a way with a snap and then boat hooks were shoving at the Indefatigable, desperately trying to get distance, any distance, between them.

"Gun crews to sweeps!" shouted Sabatini, "Topsmen to the lines." The first mate span the wheel, hauling the rudder around to swing the Hades stern about, so they were only nose on. The navy sailors were trying to get aboard now, to save themselves rather than take the ship, leaping for the pirate vessel. But the gap was getting too wide, and they plunged into the smoke covered waters on the Caribbean.

Beneath them long oars were poked out of the gun ports and those that had been manning guns were now hauling on oars to get speed.
They managed three long strokes before the Indefatigable exploded.

The ship rocked as the blast wave hit them, Luke knew what was to follow and enveloped Miraj in his arms and shielded her from the debris which had been turned into missles. He expected to feel the sharp stabbing pain of multiple puncture wounds instead the room fell silent and the only noise was their beating hearts and the warmth of her skin.

Miraj had squeezed her eyes shut when the bang had rocked the ship, expecting to be blown over, or possibly smacked by flying debris, or the giant screaming Game Over klaxon. It took a moment of being pressed up against Luke, his breath tickling her skin, his arms strong and wrapped close around her, for her to realise that it wasn't ringing. It was very nice.

She opened an eye, wondering what was going on. The panel in the arch was flashing green. End of Part 1. Save Point reached. Begin Part two?. "Yes!" They'd done it. She gave a squeal of delight, turned and hugged him tight, leaping into his arms, legs wrapped around his waist and kissing him enthusiastically.

Luke was taken more surprised by Mirajs barrage of kisses than the entire ordeal he had been in he didn't know how to react. If he was acting professional he would have pulled away or even told her to stop but he wasn't, and there was no one around. Letting out his own lust Luke twisted and pushed her back up against the wall and returned the kisses.

Her fingers twined in his hair, holding on tighter in case he faded like the rest of the holodeck. All she could think about was holding him, touching him, wanting him to touch her. Their kisses deepened with urgent need; her hands dropped to the hem of his vest.

=^="Ensign Derani,"=^= The computer's voice interrupted with the worst possible timing. =^="Please report to the bridge. Your shift is due to begin."=^=

The corner of Luke's lips curled as the computer chimed into their moment and he could feel a sigh creep into his mouth pressing hard against her lips he slowly peeled his way from her "What timing huh?" He said kissing the her neck.

She shivered as his lips brushed her throat, and silently cursed the computer. She could scream for the loss of his warm firm body. "I've never wanted to shoot a computer before." she agreed. The stood awkwardly for a moment. "I've got to go." Another pause. "Thank you, for helping me with the game."

He shrugged nonchalant "Well anytime I guess"

"Do you want to play some more? Another time?" she gave him wide hopeful eyes.

"Play as In play?" He said nodding in the direction of the holosuite "or play as in play" he kissed her on the lips nipping them softly.

Yes, a thousand times, yes! her knees seemed to be turning into warm goo and her entire body fizzed from the waist down at the thought. "Playing sounds good." she looked down for a moment. "though. I er. I haven't. I mean. I've never...played. Before. Ever."

Luke grew nervous at that "Oh, really?" He mused over the thought. "Well we can go slowly" He offered, It was at that point that Luke didn't actually know how old Miraj was, not that he'd ask a lady that!

Miraj had been expecting him to laugh at her, and when he didn't, she felt relieved and then thrilled. He wanted to do the thing. With her! Then she sighed. "I've got really horrible shifts for the next few days. We're down a pilot, and the new girl is still jetlagged. I don't know when I'm going to be free next."

He kisses her cheek softly brushing his lips against them, "Lets not out a date and time on it." He said before adding "it'll happen when it happens and I don't want to rush into things .not that you don't want to make me do so". Luke winked.

She felt like jumping up and down with excitement . It was sweet and romantic but the thought of finally getting to find out what the fuss was about made her impatient. Curse her luck. She was a Jonah to her own love life. "Alright. But soon I hope?"

"Soon" Luke promised, "But now you must go, before I have to send you to the brig for insubordination" He teased tugging at his ruffled shirt.

Her stomach flip-flopped. Part of her didn't want to get into trouble. but ending up in the brig with him seemed very appealing too. But work before pleasure. She gave him and impish smile, then feeling more brazen, she kissed him on the cheek, and scurried off to change for her shift.
