[OLD]

She rolled her eyes. “So come on. Why Zeus?”

Brax shrugged, stretching out his legs in front of him and leaning back into the corner. “Not because I am high in rank or a ladies man. In fact I am…not good with ladies. I am not good at speaking with them.”

“Well you’re talking to me,” Splendora said.

“Yes well…I cannot see you, I do not know your name, and if I could see you and did know your name I probably would say something dumb.”

She shook her head. “Come on. It can’t be that bad.”

Braxton smiled. “Ohhh it can. You don’t want me to tell you about what happened last week.”

Her lip twitched. “Oh I believe I do.”

Braxton ran his fingers through his hair. He really didn’t want to talk about it but…he’d probably never see this woman again….

[ON]

“Okay. Well,” he said.

“You are stalling my friend.” Splendora said laughing.

He smiled. “Okay so… I was in a lab. I was working on an experiment that required that I combine an anesthetic, a numbing agent with a plant sap compound. It was to have numbing as well as coagulation properties for cuts and scrapes that were not deep but bled a lot. Anyway… This girl came into the lab. She was….beautiful. A walking dream.”

Splendora gave a nod, then, realizing that he can’t see her she said. “Okay…go on.”

He sighed. “I’m such a capon.”

“A what,” she asked.

“Oh…sorry. A coward. Anyway this time I wanted to be brave. Get the girl, you know? So I stood up. I walked over to the main lab desk where she was. I leaned against the wall, I talked to her, I was actually debonair, suave, charming…call it what you will.”

Splendora smiled. “Okay so that’s good right?”

“Oui, but…The products that I was working with were…well they caused my nose to run. I had no idea at the time, she was staring at me and I thought this is good! But it was not.”

Splendora bit her lip, she could see where this was going. “So…um…why was she staring at you?”

He ran his fingers through his hair, a nervous gesture. “Well. I had a crapeau hanging.”

“A what?”

“Um…the green thing that hangs from your nose…I cannot think of the word now.”

She grinned. “A booger?”

“Yes,” he said. “I did not know it the. I thought her staring was good. Of course I was also tapping a rhythm on my leg like a drum beat, singing to the music in the background, using my voice to seduce….I didn’t realize that I still had the anesthetic in my hand, nor did I feel it….I injected my leg…at least three times.”

Splendora closed her eyes. She pictured a nerdy man with a booger and now a leg that was probably asleep. “Go on.” She said trying to draw on her counseling abilities.

“Well…I tried to step away and then realized what happened and fell to the ground…she did try to help between laughing but…then it happened.”

Splendora used all her strength not to chuckle. “What happened?” She asked calmly.

“I hadn’t realized that the anesthetic had other…properties nor that I had to go to the bathroom until I saw that my pants were…wet. I peed.”

Splendora bit her lip really hard. It wasn’t funny, it wasn’t but…. She took a few deep breaths. “You peed yourself.”

“Oui and on top of it I discovered that she was a supervisor with Starfleet Science Division.” He thought for a moment. “You’re laughing aren’t you?”

“Noooo.” She said but she held her stomach and silently chuckled. It really wasn’t funny, the poor man but…the image that created. And then she heard it… he was laughing…losing all restraint she laughed as well.

“I was a sight to see bèbè.” He said through fits of laughter.

After a few minutes she regained her composure and smiled. “Oh…I needed a good laugh. But hey look really it was a long time ago so no worries. I’m sure you’re better with the ladies.”

There was silence. “It was a week ago.”

She burst out laughing again…

Braxton smiled he was glad she was laughing it was funny to him now too. After all laughing stopped he asked her. “So what is your story, bèbè?”

To be continued….
