*** USS Wolff Guest Quarters – Splendora 0200hours ***

Splendora sat up in bed. Wiping the sweat off her forehead. Damn! she’d had another nightmare. She had to take several steadying breaths.

She threw off the covers and padded to the replicator. “Water, cold.” She waited until the replicator shimmered the water into existence and downed the water in one shot.

On shaky legs she made her way to the desk that was in the guest quarters assigned to her for her journey to the Galileo.

She reached for her bag and pulled out a notebook and pen; her dream journal. She quickly wrote down her nightmare for further analysis later and then put away her notebook.

She was lucky that her quarters had a window so she could look out at the stars around her. The thing she really liked was that the window had its own perch, a place to sit.

Sadly by tomorrow she’d be on her new ship. The Galileo, a small ship where she would be forced to endure a roommate. It would be her home for Gods know how long.

She went to the replicator ordered Lavender green tea for sleep and then returned to her perch by the window. She watched as the stars flew by. There was a certain beauty in looking out the window when the ship was at warp.

When her tea was finished Splendora still wasn’t tired. She was, however, sad. Before boarding the Wolff she’d attended Drisilla’s funeral and she still felt shock and grief from the difficult day. She took herself to the corner across the window and slid down to the ground. Drawing up her knees to her chest she rested her head on them and began to weep.

Braxton shot up from his bed as if it was on fire. He rubbed his eyes to try and get them to focus. Throwing his covers to the ground he stormed to the replicator. “Give me cold water,” he barked. When the glass materialized he downed the water in one gulp.

On shaky legs he walked himself over to the window. There was nothing more relaxing then the stars at warp to wipe away the nightmare… if he could call it that. It was more like a memory. He’d been having flashbacks and it was getting worse.

After a half hour of watching the stars he walked back to the replicator. “Lavender Green Tea, hot.” He said. One the cup materialized he walked to the little desk that came with his room and picked up a book on Ancient Greece from Earth.

Braxton walked over to the corner opposite the window, so he could still look up and watch the stars and slid to the ground. He opened his book.

A sound drew his attention. It sounded like someone crying…but that made no sense. The wall was soundproof wasn’t it? He tapped on the wall. “Hello….”
