Perched on the edge of her stool, Rebecca traced the edge of her glass with the end of her finger. She seemed to be visiting this bar more and more lately, one would think she was becoming an alcoholic. This was further from the truth then was possible. The bar was starting to become a recreation, on a ship so small it was hard to get out and meet people when there wasn't many outlets. She had tried the arboretum but the place was full of either couples walking hand in hand or scientists with their head buried in work.

Internally sighed, the yeoman shook her head, causing her loose hair to fall down around her face, as if to shake her thoughts loose as she picked up her glass and took a sip of the alcohol inside. Now wasn't the time to linger and get lost in thought, now was a time to have fun.

Crossing her legs at the knee, the emerald green dress was dragged further up her thigh as she surveyed the offerings within the room.

Clapping his hands as he moved for the bar, Gabriel Stark rubbed his hands together with a sigh of relief at finally getting through his work to get there. He moved up next to the brunette, half leaning over the bar with a grin, lifting his hand in the air to get the barman's attention. "Amaretto on ice, per favore...." he turned away with a soft sigh, leaning back against the bar with a soft chuckle. "Been waiting for this all day."

Rebecca found herself wincing a little as she heard the man's order. Turning slightly in her stool she couldn't help but appreciate his looks if not his sense in alcohol. The dark brown hair was in contrast to his pale skin but it was his eyes that intrigued her more, they drew a person in to the briefest hint of a storm which may linger hidden beneath. "I wouldn't have put you down for something so bitter tasting...I would have thought you'd prefer something strong and powerful...something along the lines of absinthe perhaps? Or if you prefer something not so dangerous there's always something from the Cardassian range of kanars?"

Gabriel looked across to him with surprise before laughing softly, his elbows sliding up to rest on the bar. "I find Amaretto sweet, tastes like marzipan," he chuckled softly. "Absinthe has been responsible for more than a few good evenings in the past. Honestly, though? I'm more a neat vodka drinker. But I like the pure stuff," he looked over to her, watching for a long moment before glancing down to her glass. "What about you?"

Smiling as she looked down at the glass, Rebecca used two fingers to move it closer to the strange so as the golden colours could be more easily seen. "Depends on the mood...tonight I went with devil may care attitude which brings with it a daring samarian sunset. Colourful enough though to lighten any dark mood."

"Mm..." Gabriel mused, nodding slowly as he took the words in. He nodded his thanks as his own drink arrived, taking a sip of the ice cold liqueur, sighing softly at the hit it gave him. "A dark mood, huh? That sounds...ominous."

Studying the man carefully, the thoughts of the last few days crossed her mind before she eventually allowed a small smile to settle on her lips and tilted her head slightly to the side so as her loosened hair brushed across her bare shoulders. "You don't want to be hearing about my life's trials and trivial issues I'm sure. Tell me about yourself."

"I wouldn't have asked if I didn't want to hear it," Gabriel assured with a slight wink, but smiled easily as he sipped his drink gently with a sigh. "Don't they say that the bar is like free therapy? I suppose that makes me a pretty sick man with how much I'm in here," he chuckled, shaking his head at himself.

Laughing at the man's comment, Rebecca moved in her chair so as her body was turned a little more in his direction, allowing her a better view of his face. "I'll make you a deal so, I'll spill mine if you spill yours. If you are in here that often then it would seem that your issues are probably far more interesting."

"Issues? Hm...issues..." Gabriel thought on that with a small, half smile, hopping up onto the bar stool to lean with his side against the bar. "I'm just a security grunt. Rush in all guns blazing when things go wrong. So what about you? I've seen you following command around..."

A flicker moved through Rebecca's eyes at the mention of security, the reason for her mood tonight. As quickly as the flicker appeared it disappeared again to be replaced by a mild humor. "Doesn't it worry you to see unknown people following command around? Isn't it part of securities duty to ensure that our command people see no harm? I could be a stalker for all you know."

"True," he nodded with a soft sigh at that, his lips pursing as he mused on the idea of it. "But a pretty stalker like you? The Captain would probably brig me for stopping you," Gabriel teased gently. "Nah, I assumed you were his yeoman with the uniform and that neat little padd you keep tapping on."

Picking up her glass, Rebecca studied the man with a twinkle of laughter in the depths of her eyes. "Captain Holiday has been known to brig people for less so I hear. But yes...you hit the nail on the head. It also means that if your not careful, I'll learn your deepest darkest secrets very easily...well those your department head sees fit to include in any report anyway."

"Oh well, that's easy then," Gabriel arched an eyebrow, watching her with amusement and a clearly mock sense of confidence as he cast a playfully cocky grin. "Squeaky clean, me. I'm just all sugar and spice and all things nice. Never been naughty once. Nuh uh," he shook his head in a way that showed he was clearly just joking.

"Aren't men meant to be made of snips and snails and puppy dog tails? Full of mischief and always getting up to no good?" Rebecca smiled at the playful nature of the man, finally finding herself begin to relax for the first time in days. "Already you've been caught in a lie."

Gabriel lifted his hands as if caught out, but chuckled softly with it, shifting his weight onto one hip. "Oh, and girls are all 'sugar and spice and all things nice', huh? Come on now..."

Casually running her finger around the edge of her glass, Rebecca tilted her head slightly to the side as her eyes stayed on the man. "Women are a little bit of everything...enough that they are unpredictable and will catch you by surprise. Abit like the cocktail I'm drinking. In the beginning it's deceptively clear, almost boring, until...." Taking her finger away from the rim of her glass, the yeoman flicked a fingernail against the edge, causing the colours in the glass to deepen in their vibrancy. "....you add a little vibration and bring the secrets of the drink into the full light."

Taking the glass as she took a sip, Rebecca smiled over the rim as her eyes met the strange mans. "Would you have us any other way?"

Hopping up to settle on to the stool next to her, Gabriel shook his head with a soft laugh at the descriptive and colourful way she talked about her gender. "Perhaps if I had grown up with sisters I would be better prepared for your complicated ways," he teased lightly, motioning for the bartender with his glass to silently ask for another. "Fancy another?" he asked, reaching over to her to tap close to her glass.

Nodding her head in the bar tender's direction, showing her consent to a refill, Rebecca leaned back in her chair as she allowed her eyes to study the man beside her from head to toe. Her opinion of him had shifted slightly in the course of their conversation but she couldn't help but feel there was something more that she couldn't quite put her finger on. "So did you have brothers or were an only child?"

"I have an older brother," Gabriel shrugged with a half smile at mentioning him, tsking gently as he shook his head. "He's a politician these days. Bloody good at it too. Poor sod."

Moving her fingers across the glass in her hand, Rebecca contemplated it for a moment before gesturing to a secluded seat in back area of the bar. "Care to join me?"

Without awaiting an answer, she moved across the area with the drink in her hand and allowed the man to decide if he wished to follow or not.
