Mission: Episode 01 - Project Sienna
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 3 - Personal Quarters
Timeline: MD 07 - 1700

ON:

The shuttle ride from Starbase 152 had been mostly uneventful. Pleasant conversation is always nice. Meeting Delainey, the ships counselor, and Aria had been good. Getting to know the crew informally is always helpful. He definitely looked forward to working side by side with Ens. Rice. Security team members that know each other have a statistically better chance of fewer injuries or losses.

Upon arrival to the Galileo, Theron had been given a warm welcome and assigned his quarters. He made quick work to locate his shared quarters on Deck 3. Space was very limited on the Nova Class starship. At least it will be a significant change from Deep Space 5. He would be sharing this space for a while with Ensign Beltorin Slak, an Engineer. He looked forward to getting to know him, when they finally met.

Theron sat down at the computer console, "Computer, request security access for Ensign Theron Rhodes. Authorization code Epsilon - Kappa - Omega - 6 - 3 - 6.

The computer replied, "Authorization code is accepted. Welcome aboard the USS Galileo, Ensign Rhodes."

Theron cocked his head slightly to the left. He had never heard of a computer being so . . so warm and welcoming. He then went about reviewing the crew roster and bios. He knew he would not remember everyone, but being more familiar is always an advantage.

Rhodes then accessed available information about the CO, XO, and Chief Security Officer. He felt that if he was going to serve these officers to the best of his ability, then he needed to understand them a little better. He would not attempt to access personal or restricted files. There was no need for that. What he read about Lt. Orexil lead him to believe that she is much more than then what most saw on the surface. He would not underestimate her, nor her abilities. Commander Lirha Saalm was the Captain of this vessel. "Orion." Theron said aloud curiously.

"Please state the comment in the form of a question." The computer said.

"Sorry," Theron replied. "I was not asking a question." He continued to read about the Captain.

After a time he glanced up toward the ceiling in thought. From what he knew about Orions and especially Orion women, the Captain must be a forceful individual. He was sure there were a lot of things she had to control. He smiled slightly as he read about her work as an Intelligence officer.

Theron glanced at the chronometer, 1715 hours. He knew he needed to check in with the Chief here very soon. He pulled up the information on the XO. "Lieutenant Commander Jonathan Holiday." Theron read aloud. Holiday also had a background in Security and Tactical. Theron leaned back in his chair and crossed his arms, then thought, 'It seems to me that we have a highly trained crew in security and intelligence for a scout, survey, or research missions.' He reached back with his right hand and scratched the back of his head next to his ear. 'Unless, we will be doing a few other things for the Admiralty.'

Theron had no desire to second guess the Captain and officers of the USS Galileo. He just wanted to be prepared to deal with the security issues that would come his way.

Theron had previously looked at the deck plan for the Nova Class starship while waiting on Star Base 152, but he did a quick check to make sure that this model followed the standard or if it had any changes. He noticed that they had a Hunley shuttle on board. That was an interesting clue to him. He then noticed a change on Deck 3 near the Auxiliary Deflector Control and on Deck 6 near the Main Deflector Control. It appeared that the area had been expanded more than the standard. It was very likely that the main array was more advanced and powerful.

Ens. Rhodes closed down his access to this computer console, stood and glanced around the room. No more delays. He headed out of his quarters and down the corridor, heading to the Security Office.

He felt very good walking down the corridor of a 'Starship' for a change. He felt proud to be wearing the color for Security. Theron knew that this ship and its crew would be asked to do many interesting things during the next year. Theron thought, 'This is definitely much better than being a 'Mall Cop.'
